Failures and Triumph

Last weekend, Mamarazzi had frying frenzy again. This round much more fun coz Auntie Florence and Uncle Patrick came and join in the fun.
First they fried the Arrowhead Chips. Turn up a tad too oily and the colour not that nice.

Mamarazzi was not satisfied on how the chips turn out. She sent an S.O.S to Auntie Elin who responded equally quick and directed her to Table For 2 blog which explain why the chips are oily and colour uneven.

Snap! Snap! must take photo of this home cook disaster.

Then they went and fried Lotus Root Chips pulak(on the left). The LRC was a disaster. Used the wrong Lotus Root. Must use the ones for cooking soup one. Mamarazzi used the ones for frying vegetable ones.

At first very syok wor. Throw into the wok, the Lotus Root size was as big as 50sen coin. But by the time, it's cooked...they turned into the size of 10sen coin. Pathetic. No wonder these chips are so expensive in the shops. Takes to much to get a handful. Worse than frying Ngaku.

Once again Auntie Elin came to the rescue with this video. Thank you very much, Auntie Elin. Hopefully next round we will be successful.

On the bright side, one experiment  was successful.

Then Mamarazzi found 5 small pieces of Sweet Potatoes. That one she also wanna experiment. Hmm...result was pretty good. For the 5 small sweet potatoes, she could get two small containers of chips. These chips taste good. Sweet and smells great.

Just too bad it's not viable as a Chinese New Year gift. I guess you know why, right? Sweet Potatoes is called Fan Shu in Cantonese, which also can mean "stupid". Worse still if you say "Planting Sweet Potatoes" which practically means "go die".

Gosh...if kena people who are superstitious,...*horrified* sure kena cursed upside down by them.

Shh...I over heard that they are planning another round of frying marathon soon
