Thong Sui Kai , Jln Sultan Ekram, Ipoh

Another "Once Upon A Time " post.

I can't believe it. We went to Ipoh so many times but this was our first time having a meal at Thong Sui Kai.

Thong Sui is soupy dessert. Kai is means road in Cantonese. Hence Thong Sui Kai roughly means Dessert Road. This is the place where we can find yummy dessert.

For me , yummy dessert of course must have loads of ice. If there are fruits and Ice cream as topping it's even better.

Yup... Papa ordered this big bowl of Mixed Fruits Ice for me to share.

Some sotong kangkung as snack. It's actually blanched water convolvulus/chinese spinach with blanched soaked cuttlefish. Nothing special, right? But when it's mixed with the special sweet and salty sauce.. it tasted fantastic. Add some grounded peanuts and sesame seed...Fulamak..best giler.

But I was still hungry leh. Hence Papa ordered a nowl of Ho Hee(noodles) for me.

Slurppp... ini baru best.

This is a makan place worth visiting in Ipoh. Parking maybe a bit hard to find but you can park behind the stalls.

Here is the address :Jln Sultan Ekram, Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia

A-la-la-la-la-long ago we went to Ipoh. Was it last year? Hmmm... think so...Mamarazzi found these photos in the blog draft ...some how it's floating there more more than a year.

Wokay, guess it's time to share it. Well....after queuing up for mooncakes for more than an hour at Ming Yue last year, Mamarazzi saw a shop nearby also have quite a number of people. Must be something good there

A bakery...old style bakery.

Business seems to be pretty good. There was people queueing for the kuihs there.

They have large varieties of kuih-muih. Hmm...anything you can think off..maybe can find it here.

Mamarazzi bought a bit of this and that. Bought Chai Kuih (vegetable) for Papa. Quite big and a lot of inti.
Some nyonya kuih for herself

And Angku for me.

If you are craving for some local nyonya kuih, you can try out this shop.

Here is the address : 44, Jalan Tokong, 31650 Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia.

Chicken Rice at Restaurant Kong Sai , Taman Paramount

Once upon a time......back in September... I wanted to have Chicken Rice. But Mamarazzi wanted to have soup pulak.

Well, since we have something to do in PJ, Mamarazzi suggested for us to have lunch at Restaurant Kong Sai. It was our first time their. We have been to the one in Subang Jaya (before it moved) and the food was very good.

Yay! Mamarazzi got her soup. Double Boiled Black Chicken Herbal Soup.

And I've got my Chicken rice.

Not much chicken meat for the price but the taste was still good . She loves the pickled vegetables they put on top of the meat. It's really something different from others restaurants.

Will we visit again? Yes, maybe will visit again but not often as it's a bit far for us.

Here is the address . Got it from google.

Address: No.39, Jalan 20/16, Taman Paramount, Petaling Jaya, 46300, Petaling Jaya, Selangor, 46300, Malaysia

The Syrup vs Soda, Kuala Terengganu

Last school holiday we went back kampung to visit Ah Kong and Ah Mah. That evening, Ah Mah not cooking so we went out to cari makan la. Papa google and found this The Syrup vs Soda having pretty good review.

Okay la..try out this place la. Quite nice ambiance. Only downside is the wash room is at the other side of the building.

I wanted Milo. Papa and Mamarazzi ordered Milo Raksasa (Giant Milo) for me. Yikes...I have heard of Dinosaur Milo. Now have Giant Milo pulak.

Papa had this weird named drink..."Teh Dangdut Goyang ". Loads of foam . It's a kind of tea.

I had Spaghetti with meatball. Surprisingly the portion was quite big . Price was around RM12 or something like that.

Mamarazzi had moo moo with its glamour name of Star Wars Sirloin Steak Served With Black Pepper Sauce.

Price were around RM26 but also big portion. Presentation wise can be improved.  She didn't quite like drizzle of cili sauce as per photo. Taste wise was okay. Meat was a bit tough . Other than that, it's not bad.

Papa had Lamb Chop which also have a glamour name ..."The Hunger Game Grilled Lamb Chop" RM24. Hmmm...looks like the owners of this restaurant must be a movies fan. Also portion was big for the price.

As for location of the restaurant..... errr.... errr....maybe can Waze kot?

Banana Chips a.k.a Kerepek Pisang

Some time ago a gardening friend gave Mamarazzi a bunch of banana. This is called Pisang Abu. According to friends,  Pisang Abu is good for making Banana Fritters but then Mamarazzi always fail in this . It always end up not crispy or burnt.

Then her friend gave her an idea. Why not make it into "kerepek". According to him, it's the same way as making arrowhead chips.

Tested. Hmm.... it works. Just slice the banana right over the hot wok.

Came home from school, I have two tubs of banana chips to eat. For taste, one can add icing sugar or some salt.

What about the "head and tails"?

Waste not. Put into the oven and baked with cheese. Papa got to eat that.

Flying September 2016

Time sure seems to be flying very fast this year. In a blink of an eye, half October had passed. Many celebrations during September but Mamarazzi have not recorded it down for me in this blog.

Well, there was the Mooncake Festival a.k.a Mid Autumn  Festival also the day that Mamarazzi discovered that I took her camera and gave it to my friend.

Despite bum bum blooming with flowers, I still get to enjoy playing lanterns with my friends at the Playground that evening.

 Nothing gets me down.

Then again...it might be due to the few glasses of wine that made Mamarazzi mellowed. hence I get to play with friends though I was terribly naughty. Grounded till today.

September was also the month where we had Sport Day in my school . This year I didn't get to be selected for any competition. Got grounded by teacher on the day they select participants for the contests.

However, I was selected to join my Storm 8 Martial Art team to perform for the Sport Day event. If you are my friend, in Facebook, you will see my  performance. Mamarazzi doesn't wanna post up the video here for security reasons.

After Sport Day, my school declared an off day . Yippee....errrr....also not so yipee coz I had fever that day. Went to see the Doctor. Lucky no need to jab jab.

Apart from that, I also went for a trip with my friends. The teacher brought us to Teddy Town in Cheras.

Wow wee! Not only that we learnt to make soap but we also get free candy floss, ice creams and many more. It was fun.

There were crafting session. We can choose either build a castle or make an umbrella.  Guess what did i choose?

Mamarazzi  gave me rm10 for the trip. I bought her a packet of popcorn as i know she like caramel popcorn

I bought Papa a bar of Lavender soap as i know he likes  Lavender scent

For myself, i bought a Mr Bean Keychain. And now it's hanging on my bag.

September also "weird food" month. Anyone dares to eat Cauliflower crust pizza?

Or Kerabu Sotong with loads of home grown herbs from the garden?

Or tough "doggie bones"? Not made of doggie bones . It's grilled pork ribs. Mamarazzi didn't grilled it long enough , hence it was tough . The next day, Mamarazzi reheat the leftover, it tasted just nice.

Fried Wantan.. this one is normal...the only abnormal part is Mamarazzi stuffed it with loads of vege, carrot, mushrooms and a tiny bit of meat only. Wanna trick me to eat more vegetables ka?

September was also the month where the developer launched Meet Your Neighbour campaign and also to promote the second phase of the houses here. Loads of food and most of all Ice Cream Truck!

Each person was supposed to get one Macaron Ice Cream but end of the day they have a lot excess. Hence the Kor Kor developer gave me a bunch of vouchers for me to redeem more ice cream lor. Think that two days I had over 10 ice cream. Can't finish all so tapau home and put in freezer.

Hmmm...what else in September ya...I think that's all ...

Meantime...October sneaked in very fast. I had exam last week and this week. Final paper was o n Tuesday and I can cheerfully tell Mamarazzi I think I failed my Chinese. Aisey... when people ask, I say I am "English" mah.... dunno Chinese leh.

Before you pop any popcorn and wield your lightsaber, get ready for a BRAND NEW Season of Star Wars Rebels by first catching up on the full Star Wars saga as shown in the movies and on Disney XD!

A LONG TIME AGO IN A GALAXY FAR, FAR AWAY…

STAR WARS: EPISODE I - The Phantom Menace

A trade dispute, sparked by an illegal blockade to the planet Naboo by the Trade Federation, is revealed to be a plot by Darth Sidious. With Queen Amidala of Naboo held hostage, Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and his Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi attempt a daring rescue. Along the way, they encounter a young slave named Anakin Skywalker who later begins Jedi training.

STAR WARS: EPISODE II - Attack of The Clones

Ten years on, Obi-Wan is a general; with Anakin at his side, they help to defend the Galactic Republic from attacks led by former Jedi Master Count Dooku. Anakin is assigned to protect the influential senator Padmé Amidala; their romance leads to a secret wedding. Meanwhile, Dooku delivers the Death Star blueprints to his Sith master, Darth Sidious, marking the beginning of the Clone wars.

STAR WARS: EPISODE III - Revenge Of The Sith

Chancellor Palpatine’s power and influence grows as the Clone Wars progresses, as well as suspicion among the Jedi Council regarding the Chancellor’s allegiance. Anakin is then asked to spy on the chancellor but the Council’s refusal to grant him the rank of Jedi Master leads to resentment. Anakin soon embraces the Dark Side, fuelled by bitterness and manipulated by the fear of losing his wife Padmé, who, unknown to him, gives birth to twins. A confrontation between Anakin and Obi-Wan leads to serious injuries; Darth Sidious saves his life, marking the ‘birth’ of the Sith Lord Darth Vader.

STAR WARS REBELS Season 1

Fourteen years later, a young orphan named Ezra meets the captain of a ship called Ghost, Hera Syndulla, and her motley crew – Sabine Wren, Zeb Orrelios, Chopper the droid, and Kanan Jarrus who is an undercover Jedi. Together they traverse planet Lothal and the surrounding Outer Rim, learning about the growing rebellion and their role in resisting the Imperial army while Ezra is trained in the ways of The Force by Kanan.

STAR WARS REBELS Season 2

The Rebels are adjusting to their new missions within a larger Rebellion taking place on planets like Garel and Lasat. They receive a call for help from Minister Maketh Tua, who convinces the Rebels to help her defect from the Galactic Empire in exchange for vital Imperial secrets. They return to Lothal only to find it under Imperial siege and soon have their first encounter with the Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Vader.

STAR WARS REBELS Season 3

Having established a secret base on planet Atollon, the Ghost crew, now led by a more powerful Ezra, strengthens the rebel fleet by acquiring new resources and recruits eager to stand against the Empire. However, Imperial efforts to eliminate the rebellion are now being led by the cold and analytical Grand Admiral Thrawn, whose strategic, tactical and cultural insights make him a threat unlike any they have ever faced before. Ezra and Sabine have to take on new roles and challenges as the rebels prepare for their biggest mission yet – a direct assault on the Empire.

If you’re still unclear how things stand, here are 5 things you need to know before watching:

1. Lothal – where it all began
The Rebels started with Ezra Bridger, Hera Syndulla, Sabine Wren, Zeb Orrelios, Chopper the droid, and Kanan Jarrus. They met and began their mission against the Galactic Empire on a planet called Lothal, traveling on a ship known as the Ghost, as shown on Season 1.

2.  Ezra Bridger battles within
While the Rebels gear up for their biggest battle against the Empire in Season 3, the battle within Ezra rages on as he’s torn between the light and dark side of the Force. The last episode of Season 2 showed him opening the Sith holocron that powered the Sith temple – something that can only be performed by someone who thinks like a Sith.

3. Darth Maul returns
Darth Maul is back since he was last seen in Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace, with an appearance in Star Wars: The Clone Wars TV series. This time, his personal agenda to gain power continues in the third season of Star Wars Rebels, as he’s made it clear he’s neither with the Rebels nor with the Empire.

4. Kanan’s new look
After being blinded by Darth Maul’s lightsaber in the season finale of Season 2, Kanan Jarrus now sports a beard and wears a black mask. The experience has changed his perspective on life and he is made to rely more on the Force as a guide.

5. Say hello to new characters
In Season 3, the Imperial army is now led by the cold and analytical Grand Admiral Thrawn, who’s strategic, tactical and cultural insights make him a threat unlike any the Rebels have ever faced before. Meanwhile, Kanan Jarrus will meet a Force-sensitive ancient being on planet Atollon called Bendu, who claims to represent the center of the Force.

STAR WARS: EPISODE IV - A New Hope

Thirty-two years after Episode III - The Revenge of The Sith, Princess Leia leads the Rebel Alliance, hiding the Death Star blueprints in the astromech droid R2-D2 before being captured by Darth Vader. An adopted farmhand Luke Skywalker discovers the droid on Tatooine and embarks on a mission with Obi-Wan Kenobi to deliver the plans to the Rebels, hiring smuggler Han Solo and his ship the Millennium Falcon. The Rebels then identify a weakness in the Death Star, planning a successful assault and destroying the Death Star.

STAR WARS: EPISODE V - The Empire Strikes Back

Three years after the Death Star is destroyed, Darth Vader pursues Luke Skywalker and the Rebel Alliance base on the ice planet Hoth. Luke studies the Force under Jedi Master Yoda but leaves to rescue Han Solo and Leia when they are captured by Vader. Luke then faces Vader, loses his hand and discovers that Vader is his father. Meanwhile, Han has been frozen in carbonite and surrendered to the bounty hunter Boba Fett, to be delivered to Jabba the Hutt.

STAR WARS: EPISODE VI - Return of The Jedi

Luke and Leia, assisted by local Chewbacca and Lando Calrissian, rescue Han Solo from Jabba the Hutt while the Galactic Empire constructs a second Death Star in order to crush the Rebel Alliance once and for all. The Rebel Fleet launches a full-scale attack on the Death Star while Luke struggles to bring his father, Darth Vader, back from the Dark Side of the Force. In the fight, Vader chooses to save his son, killing the Emperor and dying from his wounds, bringing an end to the Empire's hold over the galaxy.

STAR WARS: The Force Awakens

Thirty years after the destruction of the second Death Star, the First Order rises from the fallen Galactic Empire with an even greater weapon – the Starkiller. Opposing them is the Resistance, led by General Leia who also searches for her brother Luke. Meanwhile a scavenger named Rey – who shows an ability to use the Force - encounters BB-8, a droid which holds a vital clue to Luke’s location, and is taken captive. Former Stormtrooper Finn, Han Solo and Chewbacca attempt a rescue, with Han confronting his son, Kylo Ren, leader of the First Order. Han is killed and the Starkiller Base is destroyed; soon after, Rey follows the map hidden on BB-8 and R2-D2 to Luke’s location on planet Ahch-To.

Now that you’re all prepared, don’t miss the premiere of STAR WARS REBELS Season 3 this Saturday, 15 October, 8am on Disney XD (Astro Ch 617 & 637)!
