Christmas 2014 - Ipoh

How was your Christmas? Ours was good. A spontaneous trip to Ipoh.

Go Ipoh...where can miss go find Auntie Claire punya. Muhahaha.... Yup.... arrived Ipoh at odd hours but never fear. Ipoh...sure to have place to eat punya , no matter what hour it is.

What Auntie Claire ordered Leong Cha (Herbal Tea), Mamarazzi was surprised to see this.....so much liew(ingredients) leh. Looks like Ling Chi Kang over here

Auntie Claire ordered Claypot Rice....Yam Rice....

And unknowingly, Mamarazzi also ordered Claypot rice....but hers is Pork belly with salted fish. Hahaha...can finish la...no worries

The following two dishes looks the same in the photo but they are not. This is "Hoi Chit" with Pucuk Paku. Hmm.....not sure what is Hoi Chit in English...is it seaweed or white fungus ah......not Jellyfish.

Taste good wor, especially with the peanut sauce

The sotong kangkung was good but if compared with the Hoi Chit dish....the former wins hands down.

Had their Char Keoy Teow. Not bad la. For Mamarazzi...guess you know the answer already la.

This one terror leh.....got Glamour name "Wan Ton Lou" looks plain in but underneath all the shaved ice, there were loads of treasures.

You might think after having all those food, there won't be any more space to fit in these  right.....but with two durian Queen there.....problem also jadi NIL la.

Disney Junior’s Power of Doing Good !

Due to various reason, kids nowadays tend to glued to the idiot box and various type of electronic devices. Some will argue that this is not good for child development. The child become introvert and so on. But what if we can change all that?

Recently Disney Junior Launches a new website "Pirate and Princess: Power of Doing Good"(URL: www.disneyjuniorpowerofdoinggood.com)

This  campaign hope to introduce kids aged 2-7 to the idea and values of caring for nature, animals, and helping others. It encourage preschoolers to participate in acts of service to community in a fun way.

Yes, it's online Parents will have to help the child to login and choose with them which activity they wanted to do . Then print out the activities sheets. Have fun and later upload the photos online.

As you know, nagging kids to clean up nor "talking" to them about the power of doing good will not stick on their mind for long. But through the power of stories and characters, hopefully it will inspire kids to imagine a better world. And through the simple acts of caring for their surroundings and their community, hopefully kids will realise that they have the potential to make a positive change in the world they live in.

The Power of Doing Good campaign on Disney Junior gives kids and family to do just that through their activities online and offline.

Disney Junior's Power of Doing Good campaign also supported by WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature), SPCA Singapore and Selangor, and Singapore Environment Council.

Popular Disney Junior characters Jake (from Jake and the Never Land Pirates) and Sofia (from Sofia the First) will take the kids on a journey of personal empowerment through the ‘Power of doing good’ campaign.

How can you participate?  Here are the steps: -

1)Parents will need to download fun activity sheets from the website www.disneyjuniorpowerofdoinggood.com

2) Activities are themed around four key areas - Community, Animals, Nature and Storytelling.

Online badges and certificates are simple rewards to encourage kids to complete all activity sheets and learn the ethos of doing good.

3)In addition, there will be opportunities for kids and families to create “power promises” online- a simple promise to do something good for the world they live in.

Sounds good? I am all in for it. Last Sunday was in JayaOne for the Sun Day Out Indoor Cycling. Saw someone threw candy wrapper on the floor and I  pick it up . Threw it in to the rubbish bin. Santa saw me doing that and he gave some candies for that,

The Big Bad Wolf Book Sale Preview 2014

Guess everyone know already ya...yesterday we went for the Big Bad Wolf Books Preview thanks to the Preview Pass by The Wolf Team.

I was super excited. Skipped tuition for this. Muhahahaha....arrived there 9.30am and there was already a long queue. Luckily Auntie Azila "chupped" a place for us.

Well, actually no need to rush la coz once the door opened, everyone can go in liao. Venue SO BIG!

First mission...check out the Playland upstairs. I was the number 0000001 customer to the playland. The Jie Jie there still recognise  me leh. Papa pulak "buka kedai" at the food court. Mamarazzi starts her book hunting

Gosh! This year sooooo many box sets. Got the Hunger Games, Wimpy Kid, Maze Runner, Millennium Trilogy...

Charlaine Harris, Agatha Christie, Marry Higgins, Inkheart, James Patterson to name a few....there were loads and loads of other box sets.

They have changed the layout of the place ...now what used to be the Exit last year ...is the Entrance.

Not only that. The way they displayed the books also different. If you are following their Facebook or saw in newspaper the books that they have advertised and now you wanna look for those books...well...it's easy. Just head over to the tables with the RED SIGN "AA"(As advertised)". The books are placed there.

And if you still can't find the book you wanted...just ask any staffs. They went and extra mile for Mamarazzi.

Mamarazzi wanted to find this book which she saw in their website. Cari - Cari can't find...so she asked a staff. He didn't know where it is located but he run to ask his colleague and they helped Mamarazzi  to find the book.

Finding that book, Mamarazzi continued shopping. After what seems to be very long period...Mamarazzi arrived at the section where that staff is located. He recognised Mamarazzi and politely enquired whether she had found the book she was looking for. Wow! How nice!

Mamarazzi said must thank the two Bosses of Big Bad Wolf Books. Without them, guess we won't get so many good books at such a low price. It seems that after they started BBW, now a few more company are lowering their price and follow BBW footsteps.

Yes! Please do bring more affordable books for us. Who says Malaysian doesn't read?We do read...just that sometimes we can't afford to buy expensive books.

Yes, there are many libraries but for some personal reason, we would wanna have books that we want to read within our reach any time of the day, right?

Thank you to Andrew and Jacqueline for the event! And for training your staffs to be so helpful and polite.

And Thank You to The Wolf Team for making this shopping experience the most pleasant ever

Mamarazzi noted that there are Bicycle in display at the middles of the hall. Hmmm...there seems to be some contest going on but she was too busy eyeing the books to find out. If you are there, maybe you can try your luck

I think people who love Hello Kitty will go nuts coz there was quite a huge section devoted for Hello Kitty Fans. It's located at Children book section. Under the Mezzanine floor.

Graphic novel also have good selection

Loads and loads of kids books....got loads of picture books.

For more photos of what Mamarazzi saw there please heads over to our Facebook at   www.facebook.com/smallkucingdotcom

First of all....sorry ya...mamarazzi didn't not snap photo of the Non-fic, baking/cooking books, Self help, Business ,Malay books and Chinese books section...Yup you heard right...they have one table for Chinese books too!. Soooooo "baaaaad" *evil grinz*

There were just way too many books for her to snap photos. You'll just have to go to their https://www.facebook.com/bbwbooks for the selection or better still just go and see for yourself.

This year BBW have a very good idea wor. they hired Clowns to walk around the venue and entertain young customers

As usual, there is a storage area for you to store the boxes of books that you wanna buy while you go hunting for more.

For those who is undecided what book they wanna buy and want to sort their books, they can do so at the area under the escalator. They have reserved a sorting area for customers there.

There was a magician too. Certainly helpful to customers who bring along their kids. You know la...kids where can sit still while you shop punya...sure wanna run here and there. With Clowns giving them balloons and stuffs...of course kids will play with it. The Mom and Dad can shop in peace...at least for awhile lah.

Or else can try like mamarazzi la...dump me into Playland. On and off go upstairs to check on me. Kira as near free babysitting service leh...Mamarazzi enjoys herself shopping while I enjoyed myself playing....But kesian the Kor Kor and Jie Jie there la. I must have been like Denice The Menace there.

Mamarazzi bumped into Mr Wolf upstairs. He belanja us this Sausage wrapped in Egg from MarvellousEgg.co. Super yummy leh.

This year not only the books selection are good but food selection also very good! There was Mixed rice, nasi lemak, asam laksa, cendol, RT Pastry was there and so was Baskin Robbins, A&W, KFC, Pizza Hut, Ice Cream in a pot ....and many more.

Papa said to ask The Wolf how much is the stall rental there. Maybe can rent a space and open food stall joint venture with Auntie CC for trengganu food. Sell lemang kijal, triangle ketupat, sata, keropok lekor and nasi dagang .

Then I can go playland for two weeks lo!

Apa macam? If we open stall there, you will come support ka?

The one I love the most is Papa John Pizza. For RM7 , we got a personal pan pizza with a soft drink / mineral water.Bought one for lunch.

Errr... they should also say Refuel here & Continue the Book Hunt and/or Playland leh....LOL...

Before we left, Mamarazzi grabbed one more Papa John's Pizza for me . Yum... Mamarazzi shopped from 9.45am(yup they opened early) till 6pm.....and me play from 10am to 6pm....Syok to the max leh.

The Best Nasi Lemak in Sri Petaling

Last Saturday Papa and Mamarazzi had something to do in Sri Petaling. It has been a long time since they went there in the morning.

Wah....now morning pasar have moved to the former empty lot opposite The Store.

Drove by to "jenguk" see if Mamarazzi's favourite Nasi Lemak stall still around or not. Was very happy to see that it's still around. More than 10 years in business liao. Situated opposite of Restaurant Lucky.  Near Jalan Radin tengah.

What makes this stall special? Not only the rice and sambal tasted just right for Mamarazzi but it's also "buffet" style. The Lady Boss will give customer a packet of nasi lemak in a container, just like what the man on the left side of the photo is holding, and customer can scoop anything they wanted into the packet.

Peanuts, bilis(Anchovies), hard boiled eggs, cucumber and whatever condiments that goes with Nasi Lemak...you can scoop as much as you can.

They also have several great dishes that goes well with the Nasi Lemak....beef rendang, chicken rendang, sambak chicken, fried chicken, sotong, sambal petai, kerang and a few more. But.....must arrive early or else all would have been snapped up.

Mamarazzi arrived around 10.30am. By then...nothing much was left. Managed to get last scoop of Sambal petai to go with her nasi lemak. And that was a very very large scoop. *muhahaha*...sayang mah....scoop all la. Not much left what ....

Papa's one is with added rice. Got the last piece of Chicken wings . Though full of sambal but it was not that spicy. Just nice for Papa.

Who can guess how much for these two packets of Nasi Lemak?

Oh ya....a so a big Thank You To Uncle Arthur for the early Christmas pressie. Poslaju arrive Thursday morning but we were not home. Hnmmm....must be they know Uncle Arthur barang hence the send over in the morning. Normally Poslaju will come our place in the evening leh.

Went and collected on Friday. Hehehe.........one item missing.... don't panic Uncle Arthur....I snapped it up before Mamarazzi managed to snap photo.

Thank you very much Uncle Arthur. Wah...your Birthday terbalik you send gifts pulak. Happy Belated Birthday!
