Batu Ferringi, Penang

After makan, Papa drove us to Batu Feringgi. Mamarazzi said there got "Pasar Malam" wor. They went down to walk around while I accompany Papa in the car. Papa was not feeling well. He was having fever.

They came to this Golden Thai Restaurant. Mamarazzi was surprised. Wasn't this used to be Eden Restaurant? Hmm...maybe Mamarazzi remember wrongly.

You can see the fresh seafood being cook here.

Wah lau eh...scary looking crabs..so big.

Ahem...rather funny looking "duck". Wonder how it taste like.

I wonder how this taste like.

Australian and Boston Lobster

Such big Grouper.

Kaw kaw told Mamarazzi the fish name in Chinese is Unforgettable. Of course lah "unforgettable". Just look at the price. Nearly RM500 a kg. *pengsan* Anyone wanna sponsor us?

There were a lot of stalls selling knick knacks and clothing along the road. But this stall attracted Mamarazzi's attention. Remote Control Cars.

She end up buying two for me. The front wheels on this one can flip over.

While this one is more of a glamourous car.

I love the first car the best. RM50 for two. Not bad la.

Taiwan Blogger Fined $7,000 Over Restaurant Review

Mamarazzi was blog hopping this afternoon when she came across "Cindy's Lovely Life" Blog

The title of her post which captured Mamarazzi's attention was "Taiwan blogger fined $7,000 over restaurant review".

Mamarazzi googled and found the following from http://www.theaustralian.com.au/. Here is the reproduction of the news.

A TAIWANESE woman was ordered to compensate a noodle shop $6665 for defamation after criticising the store as unclean and its food as "really bad" on her blog.

Liu Ying-hui escaped a 30-day jail term, with the high court deciding to grant her a two-year suspended sentence after she agreed to compensate the shop, according to the verdict released by the court today.

Liu was convicted of defaming the shop in February for commenting on her blog in 2009 that its food was "really bad ... too salty" while the owner was a "bully" and the shop was "unclean with cockroaches", the verdict said.

A district court in central Taiwan ruled that her remarks "crossed the boundary of an appropriate review" since she had failed to prove her allegations.

It was the latest of a number of controversial rulings involving Internet commentaries, after a teacher was ordered to pay her dentist for calling him a "rat's dropping" in March, according to local media.

Scary. Does this means even bloggers not allowed to give negative reviews?  Everyone knows each person taste in food is different. What you like, I may not like. That is what makes us human.

She posted the link in her Facebook and got a reply from a friend who is in the legal profession. The advice was " If you want to do a 'personal' review when you are not a recognised expert, remember to cite or convey the message that the review is your own personal comments and may not represent the truth..'.

Thank you very much Mr Low for the advice. Hutang you 1 cup of Kopi, okay.

New World Park Food Court @ Swatow Lane, Penang

After bum bum nearly gone, we finally arrived.

I had a nice nap

Two weeks before that, Papa booked an apartment near the beach. The Agent told Papa, okay okay no problem.

The day before we set off, Papa called the Agent again to enquire about collecting keys to the apartment.

That #$@*&% agent then told Papa the apartment is not available. He gave some nonsense excuse. Said the owner could not find the keys to the apartment.

Really...what kind of excuse is that? Can't find the keys after two weeks and he had to wait Papa to contact him to say that? What would have happen if Papa had not called him?? How the heck he do business like that? No sense of responsibility at all.

In the end, Papa got fed-up with the nonsense excuses by the Agent and we booked into Vistana Hotel apartment.

Well, it looks like a blessing in disguise.

The Apartment at Vistana was very spacious and rather comfortable.

Accomodation kao tim. It's time for the next most important thing in the agenda...MAKAN.

Mamarazzi heard so much about this "New World Park Food Court" at Swatow Lane.

We lost no time and head to the Food Court. Was looking forward to the great food.

She ordered Asam Laksa (RM3-50). Very disappointed. The fish meat was minced and the Asam Laksa taste not strong enough for Mamarazzi.

Papa was looking forward to having Char Keow Teow.

We had a real shock when the CKT arrived. What the....Taukeh got kasi wrong or not? Fried Crab Filament as toppings? Must be a new fusion type of CKT for new generation of diners. Mamarazzi preferred old fashion CKT.

Portion was small. Price was RM4, if not mistaken.

Fruit Rojak. Taukeh! We are not dead yet la...no need to poke 3 sticks like that making it look like "joss-stick" on the plate. I kid you not. The plate of Rojak really arrived with the 3 sticks poking out like that.

Mamarazzi order Keow Teow Th'ng for me.

Taste ordinary. Nothing to shout about.
Oh Chien..same..nothing to shout about.

Uncle Patrick's bowl of Curry Laksa. He wanted yellow noodle with Bihun. The Vendor said they run out of yellow noodle. Uncle Patrick then told him he doesn't want and walked away. The Vendor then called Uncle Patrick back and said no problem. Can have yellow noodle.

In the end, this bowl of Curry Laksa arrived with a lot of bihun but just a few strands of Yellow Noodles and the soup was as bland. Then Vendor must have "borrowed" a few strand of yellow noodle from other stalls in order not to miss the sale.

RM18 plate of Lobak.

Cendol (RM2-50) for Papa. Taste ordinary.

I had ABC Special(RM4). What's so special? coz it got 4 types of fruits in it. I didn't finish it coz I didn't like the mixed fruits.

After the unsatisfactory meal, we went jalan-jalan around the Food Court.

I bodek-ed Uncle Patrick to treat me for Kiddy Rides

Saw some "horses" and I had "rides'

Got gaya or not?

Wa..this one looks like Papa leh. Sayang..sayang...

Later Mamarazzi contacted her pal who is a native of Penang that she got to know that her pal seldom goes to that food court anymore. But the good thing about the place is that it's clean.

Her friend told her the Food Court mainly cater for Breakfast and lunch crowds. As we went during dinner time, most stalls were closing. Maybe that was why uncle Patrick bowl of Curry Noodle was water down

Maybe we should have gone during lunch time. Saw some real nice comments in other blogs. You could go and have a try during breakfast and lunch.

A Reluctant Queen : The Love Story of Esther By Joan Wolf

Book Description From Booksneeze.com

An inspiring re-imagining of the tale of Esther, a young Jewish woman thrust from a life of obscurity into a life of power, wealth, intrigue . . . and tender love.

See the story of Esther in an entirely new way—with all the political intrigue and tension you remember, but told as a passionate and tender love story between a young man and woman. Misunderstood by many, King Xerxes was a powerful but lonely man. Esther’s beauty caught the eye of the young king, but it was her spirit that captured his heart.

Imagine anew the story of Esther, one of our faith’s great heroines, destined to play a key role in the history of Christianity.

My Comments :

A Reluctant Queen by Joan Wolf is a fictionalized version of the Biblical Queen Esther (The Queen biblical queen from the Book of Esther in the Old Testement). People who studied the bible wouldn't really like this book because it has been extremely romanticized and 'beautified' for the benefit of the readers. For those who are not familiar with the story of Esther would love this book, but for those who are familiar with Esther's story would feel as if there's something missing from this story, mainly Esther's background as Hadassah before she went to the king's harem and raise as queen and whatnot. The author left out a lot of things in this re-telling of Esther's story.

But then again, this book is much more emotional, passionate and descriptive than the bible. It was well written despite the fact that it has been fictionalized and romanticized and one could definitely the emotional aspect in Esther's journey to be the Queen of Persia and save the Jews from total annihilation.

This book, like a lot of Christian fictions teaches us about following God's plan. Another important message that I believe that the author is sending across through her version of Esther's story is having faith in whatever you do.

Overall, this is a good read. I rate this book 3 out of 5 stars. I received an ARC of this book from Thomas Nelson Publisher. I was not required to write a positive review for this book

Shopping At Yee Thye Biscuits & Dishonest Pomelo Vendor, Ipoh

What's the two ladies peeping at ?

Got what inside there? Peep till can see bum bum.

Wa...Asam Paste...steamed paste...sambal tumis...

Woi...Mamarazzi..you buy so much you sure you are going to cook or not? or saja wait till expire and masuk Tong Sampah?

Special Sugar Free White Coffee for Papa.

And this Oink Oink Floss in Kuih Kapit is for me.

After that we headed to the Pomelo stalls to get some pomelo. This round the pomelo price have gone up. Cheapest are RM20 for 3.

Mamarazzi saw one stall selling RM6 per fruit so she bought some from that stall.

Unfortunately the owner was dishonest. Gave Mamarazzi fruits that are quite dried and over-charged Mamarazzi by RM4.

Initially Papa wanted to turn back but Mamarazzi was lazy to go back and argue with the Lady. No point arguing with such dishonest person.

Nevermind, once you are dishonest to Mamarazzi, she will remember punya. Once bitten twice shy. Don't think all is fine with  keeping quiet and sweep everything under the tilam. No more business to that stall.

Anyway, we continued our journey and pretty soon we all finished off the delicious Buah Jambu Air. Though its still green but it was very sweet.

At the next Rest Area, Mamarazzi went and bought some more Jambu Air. These were very sweet as well.

It was a very long journey. I spent the time playing with Kaw kaw and ate my way up north.

Fried Yam Pastry (RM3-20). This one manyak sedap oh.

Siew Mai (RM3-80). Taste a bit salty.

Fish Dumpling (RM3-50).

 Fried Prawns Dumplings (RM4). Yumm..

Fried Wan Tan (RM3). Hmm... rather expensive.

Char Siew Pau(RM3-20). Love the fluffy skin but the meat in it was rather too sweet.

Nam Yee Pau (RM3-20) .

Steamed Pork Rib(RM4). Good. Heavy taste of wine.

Errr...forgotten the name. Taste average only

Black Pepper Siew Mai (RM3-50). Taste good.

Same goes for the Har Kow

Auntie Florence really enjoyed the Xiu Long Pau

Mmmnnnmm.....perut kenyang already....

To Mamarazzi, the Dim Sum here tasted average and rather pricey. But this is her sole opinion. Each person's taste buds are different.
