Coppelia, The Girl With Enamel Eyes Will Be In Town

Are you a big fan of ballet? I dunno if you are a big fan of ballet or not la... but since my school concert, I like to go on stage whenever I can.

I would copy people dancing from television show and "perform" my own dance.

Yesterday while browsing, Mamarazzi spotted announcement that "Coppelia -The Girl With Enamel Eyes" will be in town. It's a ballet performance. She asked Papa whether we can go to watch it coz said it would be a good exposure for me.

Yeah...I can heard some guys snickering out there...what? ballet? Guys in tutu? Yoh! This is a cultured performance, okay.

It is about about star crossed lovers, a mad inventor and a life sized doll. Coppelia, a romantic comedy that will enchant the hearts of the young and old. It will be staged right here in the Istana Budaya, Kuala Lumpur this 6 & 7, July 2013.

Coppelia revolves around Franz and Swanhilda as two promised lovers. Coppelia is the mannequin creation of Dr. Coppelius’s mystical workshop.

She sits on the balcony everyday and Franz becomes enchanted by her beauty, much to Swanhilda’s dismay.

A cacophony of mischief takes place in the mystical workshop when Swanhilda and her friends sneak into the workshop, Franz climbs through the window and Dr Coppelius returns. Surprises unfold and true love is united. Sounds interesting? I wanna go watch. Wanna join me? Err...hope they wil allow me to go in la.

If you want some relaxation and fun, come and join me for the show. Here is the ticketing details for the ballet performance.

Tickets are priced at RM 50, 90, 120, 160 and 200 (with a RM 3 surcharge per ticket)

Tickets can be purchased from: ticket2u.biz (Tel: 03-414 78600)

Dynasty Dragon Seafood Restaurant , SS2 Mall

One dark stormy evening, we went to Puchong to do something. After it was done, Papa and Mamarazzi soesn't know where to go next. It was near dinner time.

Drove and drove.....dunno how come can arrived at SS2 mall. Thought the Mall have loads of things to eat. Search around...this Mamarazzi said don't want..that Papa said don't want...then me pulak said don't want

okay la...finally decided one place all three of us would like to try out, Dynasty Dragon Seafood Restaurant.

Very good service leh. With smiles and Sir/Madams greetings.

A plate of peanuts for us. I can "practice" my "scorpion kungfu"

Hiyak! no problem la....

Eating peanuts with chopstick? easy peasy!

What else did we had? hmm we had their spinach soup. Mmmm nice.....

 Angle gourd with taufu.

Their Taufu was really something special. see this! it had some "decoration" on top. It would have been nicer if Mamarazzi can snap a clearer photo coz if we look into the decoration. it was like little flowers.

Taste wise thumbs up too.

Last dish was their Golden something something fried Rice. Actually it was fried with Salted Egg Yolks. May not be able to see the egg yolks here but then can certainly taste it when we eat. Yumz.

Price wise...hmmm...like Restaurant Overseas and its "rakan sekutu". Food taste....hmm...let just say suit our taste buds.

The Hulk and "Chicken Fried Salt".

Long time Mamarazzi have not posted about her wacky cooking leh?

ya lor too many things happening and the not enough time to blog about it....aiyo...her cooking ah...have to take a back seat la

Anyway, last school holiday we went back to Ah Mah's house and Ah Mah made "Kay Hong"(Chicken with Black Sauce)

Coming back to KL, Mamarazzi was lazy...don;t know what to cook so one day she remembered another one of Ah Mah's simple dish, "Kay Char Yam". Loosely translated as Chicken Fried with Salt and this is just what it was.

What you'll need is Chicken meat(duh!)

Boil the meat in water hot water(duh again!). Add a piece of ginger and some spring onion into the boiling water. Why? errr...duno....saw some blogs suggest to add those so Mamarazzi add those la. Also added some salt. After the meat is fully cooked, take it out and shred it.

Yes, of course you need to let the meat to cool down before shredding.

As for the "water" , don't throw away. Tapau and put into freezer. Can make into chicken soup when needed.

This is optional.....oink oink meat but Papa like it with oink oink meat la coz say taste nicer wor.

Pour some oil into the wok, throw in some diced garlic and some salt. Then pour the Chicken and oink oink meat into the wok and fry them.

MMm ...not bad looking hor? Nice to go with white rice, fried rice and even stuffed into bread. Hmm...Mamarazzi didn't even get to taste this....Papa and me walloped all.

Eat liao very good one leh...can turn into the hulk...

See....the mattress fell down wanna penyek me.

 but never fear!

My BOTAK head saves the day! Stronger than The Man of Steel!

Restaurant Kong Sai, SS15 Subang Jaya

A long long time ago before we even went to Houston Kafe in Ipoh, Mamarazzi suddenly wanted to eat Steamed Chicken. It's rather hard to find nice steamed chicken around the town.

Googled and saw many people recommend Steamed Chicken from this Restaurant

Off we went...it was near closing time.Fast fast looked at the menu and ordered.

We had some taufu pok .

Sorry for the gross looking photo ya...no knife to cut the taufu pok properly for nicer presentation. *LOL*

Mmm...Mamarazzi like it. Nice...got some vegetables inside.

Mamarazzi must be nuts...in hot afternoon she went and ordered Hot Pepper Pig Stomach Soup???

I don;t like coz it was peppery but Mamarazzi and even Papa slurped it up syok syok.

Jeng! Jeng! the VIP of the day. Steamed Chicken.,...Hmmmm funny sort of dipping...why not the usual ginger dipping? Wah...is it "Mui Choy"(preserved vegetable)?

I see Mamarazzi eat the chicken with the dipping till syok syok leh...I think I will stick to my chicken rice without the Mui Choy la. Don;t know what it taste like. I don't like vegetable that is black.

I'll just have the Chicken and the taufu pok soup la. Maybe next time can come here again to try out other dishes. The chicken here was as good as what others had said.

Restaurant Xiang Wei, Kota Damansara

Once upon a time ago......long long long time ago....we vroom vroom vroom to Kota Damansara for dinner.

Parked. Then looked up...huh???? We saw the sign says "Restaurant Xiang Wei". Mana na pigi "Restaurant Sentul Ah Yah Hokkien Mee"?

Adei...why restaurants in Kota Damansara area are like Oreo? Now you see it, now you don't.

We went in. Hmm...saw everything is the same like  Restaurant Sentul Ah Yah Hokkien Mee. The staffs were the same people. Menu also same.

Oh well...maybe just changed of name only? We didn't ask. Was hungry.

Ordered Sizzling Taufu. I like the gravy and the eggs very much.

Put it all over my white rice.

Mamarazzi ordered Bitter gourd something something...hmmm I don;t like. Papa and Mamarazzi can have it all.

I can see Papa like this very much. I think Auntie S will like this too coz got a lot of sesame seeds.

Saw they have promotion for Tilapia fish. RM14 or something like that a fish so Mamarazzi ordered one. Not bad. Quite big size fish.  Mamarazzi can't finish. She love the "gravy" from this fish.

For me, I wish they would finish faster coz they will give complimentary fruits.MMmm....I love watermelon. I even had Mamarazzi's slice of watermelon.

The waiter Kor Kor saw me enjoying the watermelon very much and he  asked whether I want some more or not. He said will take some more for me. But Papa and Mamarazzi paiseh wor...said no need. ..sigh....

Here is the address again.....errr...hopefully not change name again la

Restaurant Toast & Roast, SS2 Petaling Jaya

Sleepy ah....are you feeling sleepy? But I bet Uncle Arthur's eye will open big big when he reads this post

Yup....it was one of those days which don't know what to eat. End up round here and there. Finally arrived this place.

papa wanted to try the Char Siew(BBQ pork) here coz many says it's the best in PJ.

Wow.....a large variety of BBQ and roast meat. They have rice and noodles too But mamarazzi just "tapau-ed" rice.

If not mistaken it was RM7.50. BBQ pork and roast pork. A bit pricey la but at least taste good. They cut the meat in a chuncky size. Nice....Mamarazzi like coz only in chunky size do we get to taste the meat properly mah.

Well, though a bit pricey it's much better than the one in Happy Garden where it was pricey and the food doesn't suit our taste la.

I ate all the rice and Papa helped me to finish off the meat. Lucky me!

Here is the address if you wanna try out the BBQ pork and roast pork :

No. 20, Jalan SS2/72, Petaling Jaya, 47300 Selangor.

Ikan Patin - Gulai Tempoyak Ikan Patin Gerai Kak Mek, Temerloh

Sugar overload...had coca-cola and Coconut Jelly. I refused to sleep till we arrived at Temerloh...while Papa and Mamarazzi hunting for Ikan Patin, I dozed off.

Woke up found myself here. A small stall by the roadside. The stall that we went to last time was not open.

I asked camera from Mamarazzi. I wanna snap photo....clear ah the photos? well....Mamarazzi "edited" them la.

This man "terror lah". He can catch the fish by using his hand only. No need to use net!

  3.5kg...for 4 Patin Fish....nat bad.

He also helped Mamarazzi to clean the fish.

Chop! Chop! Chop! and the wifey wrap them up and collect money.

Not bad la...Doesn't even cost RM50.

As it was getting late, Mamarazzi suggested we have dinner at Temerloh. It was school holiday. The highway is expected to be pretty jam up. Better "makan"(eat) first.

Googled and saw many recommend "Gerai Makan Pak Usop" at Temerloh Esplanade. Got lost a few times coz the GPS got "dizzy". Halfway, navigating it would suddenly say "Route re-calculation".

Gave up....just "hentam" and drive blindly la. Spotted the stall.. Too bad it was closed...*sobs*

Lucky for us, the stall next to it was open and it was also another recommended eating place. Gerai Kak Mek

Wow...they have TWO big pot of Gulai Tempoyak Ikan Patin. For those of you who doesn't know, tempoyak is fermented durians. It's used to cook gulai which is a type of "soupy" food. It's spicy and and have curry-like sauce.

Papa asked the price before ordering coz we read somewhere that some stall sells this type of fish at an exorbitant price.

this piece was RM10. Not bad la coz it was such a big piece. initially Papa wanted to have both the head and tail but luckly Mamarazzi said one piece is enough. Too much can't finish.

True enough...one piece was just nice for us.

Fuiyoh...I can tell you that it was "raining" in the stall as we ate or rather as Papa and Mamarazzi ate. The gulai was very spicy. But Papa slurped up the gulai to the last drop. It was THAT good

  Some additional dishes

For me...I opted to be safe. I had Keoy Teow Ladna. Not spicy at all though it looks yellow.

Mamarazzi said last time when she was in Standard 6, a Malay friend invited her to her Hari Raya open house. The mother cooked up a storm, rendang daging, curry chicken etc. Most of the dishes have red color..meanning contains Cili.

Mamarazzi can't take much of Cili la....she spotted one dish which is yellow in color. Hmmm...that one must be a "safe" dish. Yellow couldn't be spicy, right.

Oh boy! how wrong she was. It was Gulai Tempoyak. Mak Datuk Oi!! It was so spicy that she can't feel her tongue anymore. It was cooked with "cili padi" (Bird's eye chili). That is the super spicy cili as compared to the normal red ones.

Papa had to "cool down" with this.

But this did not deterred him for "Tapau-ing" some more of the Gulai Tempoyak Ikan Patin home. Asked for extra "soup" so that Mamarazzi can "add-in" the Ikan patin that we bought earlier.

Fuih....that was one experience that I won't forget so soon

Oh ya...where is this stall...it's located at C-1, Lurah Semantan, Temerloh. Googled the phone number is  : 09-296 5602

If you are using the same sotplug GPS that Mamarazzi is using, try pointing it to Petronas at Lurah Semantan. It's easier. The row of stall is just opposite of the petrol station.
