That was where we went.
Visitors can see how they make the Keropok Lekor. The minced fish meat added with some flour will be rolled into long cylinder shape. Then it would be pour into hot boiling water. Once the Keropok lekor is fully cooked, it would "float" to the surface and the staffs would take them out from the boiling water.
You can order how many piece you want and the staff would pack for you. Big ones is RM1/piece while small ones are RM1 for 5.
Some people want to eat it there and then. Can opt for "rebus"(Boiled) or "goreng"(fried). These are the fried ones.
Mamarazzi bought two packets of the big ones to try out.
Oh well... since we were at Losong, might as well buy from from the usual Keropok Lekor Adik-Beradik stall.
Too bad that day the big ones were all sold out. Left only the small ones. Bought two packets.
Jeng! Jengs! .....the left are the big ones while the right are the smaller ones.
Papa likes to take it boiled but Mamarazzi preferred fried. Of the two type, Papa likes the bigger ones better as it has more fish.
Yup...more fish is consider better here. Some stall when they don't have enough fish, they would add more flour. Yea...those keropok lekor would "puff" up very big but also kinda dangerous as they might "explode" when you fry them. oil would splash. ouch...painful leh if got splashed by the hot oil.
Ah Mah took some and fried. I can say that the ones Ah Mah fried taste nicer than those fried at the stall. They are more crunchy. Yumz.....
My favorite Keropok Lekor... Yummy~

ReplyDeleteThe more sinful the food is the better ya
DeleteAiyo, you make me craving for kepok lekor with the sweet lada.
ReplyDeletekekekeke....
DeleteI also prefer fried keropok lekor. Dip with its chilli sauce.

ReplyDeletemaybe we can make it at home too
DeleteHave not tried these keropok before. I wonder if they are sold in Singapore.
ReplyDeleteNot sure about that
DeleteI like the fried ones but I do not know how the boiled ones taste like.
ReplyDeleteboiled ones are a bit like fish cake but not bouncy
DeleteYum, used to be my favourite snack!
ReplyDeletehahaha next time get u some
DeleteLong time I did not eat keropok lekor. The last time I ate was those very hard prepacked keropok lekor sold in petrol station convenient store, hahahaha!
ReplyDeletepetrol station have ka?
DeleteYa, at the shell convenience shop. Very hard ready to eat prepacked keropok lekor. I eat until my mouth inside all got tiny cuts due to hard, hard keropok.
Deletewow, hunting up and down for keropok lekor in KT huh?? when it comes to makan, sure mamarazzi will be very enthusiastic and never fail to satisfy herself~~ :D
ReplyDeletehahaha betul tu
Deletewah, so many types of keropok lekor one ah?? got big got small got boiled got fried!! Uncle SK so ulu didn't know all about this.. he only know those fried ones, thick or thin~~ :p
ReplyDeleteyuo over there they have big and small boiled or fried
Deletei really wonder how it tastes like for those boiled ones?? i personally don't really fancy those thick ones, i prefer those thinly sliced and crispy ones only.. but i think if there is more fish than flour, should be nicer.. probably those we get it in KL has more flour and only little fish..
ReplyDeleteover KL mostly doesnt like the thick ones.
Deletehahaha, really?? those that Ah Mah fried were a lot nicer than those sold outside?? hmmm, not impossible lah, i think most probably it's because of the oil they use lah.. at home the oil sure better quality and never recycle one mah.. outside, sure cheapo ones and dunno how many rounds fried lor, the oil also almost black in color~~ :D
ReplyDeletefried more garing mah...
DeleteI love keropok!!! I used to have after my secondary school last time!!! =]
ReplyDeleteAlthough it is very fattening, but it's really hard to resist them. They are so delicious especially when hot.
ReplyDeleteFattening? nah...not that fattening la
DeleteIt's a love-hate relationship for me as whilst i love the taste when dunked into sweet chilli sauce, the smell often turns me off too. I wonder why some smell much worse than others?!
ReplyDelete+Ant+
If its has strong smell means its not fresh . Usually doesn't have strong smell
