Coppelia, The Girl With Enamel Eyes Will Be In Town

Are you a big fan of ballet? I dunno if you are a big fan of ballet or not la... but since my school concert, I like to go on stage whenever I can.

I would copy people dancing from television show and "perform" my own dance.

Yesterday while browsing, Mamarazzi spotted announcement that "Coppelia -The Girl With Enamel Eyes" will be in town. It's a ballet performance. She asked Papa whether we can go to watch it coz said it would be a good exposure for me.

Yeah...I can heard some guys snickering out there...what? ballet? Guys in tutu? Yoh! This is a cultured performance, okay.

It is about about star crossed lovers, a mad inventor and a life sized doll. Coppelia, a romantic comedy that will enchant the hearts of the young and old. It will be staged right here in the Istana Budaya, Kuala Lumpur this 6 & 7, July 2013.

Coppelia revolves around Franz and Swanhilda as two promised lovers. Coppelia is the mannequin creation of Dr. Coppelius’s mystical workshop.

She sits on the balcony everyday and Franz becomes enchanted by her beauty, much to Swanhilda’s dismay.

A cacophony of mischief takes place in the mystical workshop when Swanhilda and her friends sneak into the workshop, Franz climbs through the window and Dr Coppelius returns. Surprises unfold and true love is united. Sounds interesting? I wanna go watch. Wanna join me? Err...hope they wil allow me to go in la.

If you want some relaxation and fun, come and join me for the show. Here is the ticketing details for the ballet performance.

Tickets are priced at RM 50, 90, 120, 160 and 200 (with a RM 3 surcharge per ticket)

Tickets can be purchased from: ticket2u.biz (Tel: 03-414 78600)

Istana Budaya Office (03- 4026 5558)

Timings: July 6, 2013 (Sat) (8.30pm) & July 7 (Sunday) (3.00pm)

  3. I love musicals and ballet performances too! :)

There's RM 300 tickets too but those are all sold out. In fact, for the Saturday show, most of the seats are sold out! I could only see a sea of red with a few good RM 160 seats.

I can't make the two times though, it'll be great if they had Friday night in addition to a matinee Sunday performance.

    2. Yup! I'm not a huge fan of matinee performances for some reason.

I like watching at night - caught a lot of musicals during my first two trips to London.

    1. It has been my dream to be able to watch a full ballet performance. All my life I have watched them rehearsed and rehearsed for many hours only. It is not easy to be a ballet dancer as they have to watch their daily diet and exercise their flexibility to perfection before they can dance beautifully.
