A Hot Day at Nadeje, Mahkota Parade Malacca

Shhh...don't tell people we got lost looking for Nadeje. Went one BIG round from Proclamation of Independence Memorial to find the place. End up at the same place again.

Then only got to know that the place had moved to Mahkota Parade instead.  Tiring and frustrating.

We finally found the place. To our horror there was a long queue going in to the place.

After a lot of hassle we managed to get seated...mot in the shop itself but at the veranda which was pretty hot despite fan were placed there.

Mamarazzi when inside the shop and asked the lady there which are their famous/popular crepe. The lady answered all on display are their famous crepe. Can't blame her as she looked tired from attending too many customers.

Not knowing what is good and not sure what is in the crepe from the names, Mamarazzi simply point to three crepe.

She got us one piece of  Banana Chocolate Crepe.

Don't ask her how did it taste like coz the weather was too hot making the environment not really conducive to enjoy the crepe properly.

We, kids, walloped most of the Crepe.

Cheese something something crepe.

Tiramisu Crepe

Our drinks came. Mine was Mango Yakult.

Saw they mixed Yakult and mango juice...I also wanna try "mixing" drinks la. I mixed Papa's Coke Light withn Orange Juice.

Taste? Errr...better not try this next time.

Papa ordered Onion Rings.

This is an "O". Didi (little brother)  made a "C".

whatever it is, it certainly tasted good.

Mamarazzi concluded that she would wanna try out this shop again at a time where it is not so crowded. Maybe then the service would be better and she could enjoy the food there.

Here is the address if you wish to pay the shop a visit :
Lot G23B, EG4 &EG5
Ground Floor Mahkota Parade
No 1 Jalan Merdeka
75000 Melaka
(located outside of the building next to KFC)

Proclamation of Independence Memorial, Malacca

As it was not time to check-in to the hotel yet, we decided to go for some "exercise". Auntie CY family decided to go "hill climbing".

We decided to hide some where cooler. It was a very hot day. We went to the "Proclamation of Independence Memorial" nearby.

 Wahh....that's "Tunku" in the car.

Interesting display. Press then got sound telling me what was happening then

 Come on...let's go.

Wow...ships...the old Portuguese and other trade ships.

 EEEeee....this part I don't like. It's scary.

Don't snap photo. Scary Japanese sword

Banana Tree Money that were used during Japanese Occupation of Malaya. Got the name from the Banana Tree printed there. According to history, these money was worthless near the end of Japanese Occupation. Had to have a gunny sack full of this just to buy a bag of rice.

 Various literature on display

Wow...really old book. Written using old Malay spelling. Even Mamarazzi had hard time understanding that.

Going upstairs? Don't want la. Papa not going. Upstairs looked dark work. Scary

Mmm.....it was scary for me. Scene of fighting against some parties...don't know whether its Japanese or Communist.

We walked past this section pretty fast. Did not bother to rad what's written there.

Another scene of discussion about Malaya Independence.

 Don't know what is this.

If not mistaken, these were one of the first ballot boxes

 Uiks...square coins?

 That coin is cute.

Wow...this one is really old money

 The Independence Table?

Such humble piece. Mamarazzi thought it would have been grander. Well, all must begin small. Even our nation.
Hmm..that's all? Time to roam outside.

 How many flags were there?

Mamarazzi asked me to pose for the photo...and here is how I pose.

...and like this.....nice ka?

Overall, it was an eye opening experience for Mamarazzi being at the Memorial. She has never been in the Memorial. She felt that the place was rather eerie as it was very quiet there. It would be a much comfortable experience if the Management had put on some soothing music.

Lunch at Restaurant Nyonya Makko, Taman Melaka Raya

From Port Dickson, we head on to Malacca the Historical City.

Supposed to meet up at Restaurant Nyonya Makko at 11am but we were late. Around 11.30a.m. baru arrived. Paiseh...paiseh.....

Thought go earlier the better coz this restaurant usually would be pack full by noon.

Lucky, Auntie CY family were patience and waited for us. Were were greeted with these tasty "Keropok".

This is our second time eating at this restaurant. Ordered more or less the same dishes that we had before coz found that the food here is good.

We had this delicious Nyonya Chap Chye(Nyonya Mixed Vegetable)

Kerabu Bendi(Okra). This dish are well loved by all the adults. They boiled the Okra and put a lot of Sambal on top of it. The Okra was not over cooked. Sambal taste was very fiery and yet....nice.

  Omelet Fried with Cincalok. Yummy

Ayam Buah Keluak(Chicken Cooked with Keluak Fruit). Saw in a television show that this Buah Keluak is a poisonous fruit. It's dangerous to eat if it is not cooked properly.

Asam Fish. Very appetising. It's a bit sourish and spicy . Goes well with rice.

Mamarazzi spotted these "Ang Koo" (Red cake) at the  counter. At first Papa thought RM5 for two pieces but later Mamarazzi looked again it was RM5 for 5 pieces.

Looks good so she bought a packet.

Auntie CY had sago Melaka with Ice Dessert. Said taste pretty good.

While Mamarazzi shared with me her bowl of Cendol

It was a hot hot hot day.

I can't wait to get my mouth on this Cendol

Cooling sweet cendol. Hmm...I bet Uncle Arthur would be drooling now.

Total bill for 4 adults and 3 kids inclusive of drinks RM93-30. Considered cheap.
