The other day we went to Khee Way Dim Sum but sadly it was not open. Hence "detoured" to the shop opposite.
Wow..evening also open leh.
The Fried something with Salted Egg(top left) was so-so only. Maybe because it's cold already.
The 3 pieces of Dumplings(top right), taste..hmmmm..nice coz have water crestnut. Just too bad doesn't have carrot and the black fungus.
Then a variety of siew mai. Some with salted egg..some with century eggs and etc.
Papa loves the Pai Kut. Said taste better than Khee Way. The siew mai tasted not bad la
Be careful when you order the Fu Chuk roll(bottom left) coz the topping was all ginger. After eating, a lot of "wind" will come out . Don't say I didn't warn you .
The Har Kow to Mamarazzi's taste but the prawns were fresh.
Char Siew Pau and Dai Pau not bad. Can rival Khee Way.
As for the Nasi Lemak....got nothing to do with the Dim Sum Restaurant punya. Papa "tapau-ed" from outside. Very expensive. RM3-50 with sotong. If at our place it would have been RM2-50 only.
Overall the Dimsum at this restaurant is not bad la. The place is pretty clean too despite being near to the pasar. Service also good.
Here is the address just in case you wanna makan there.

ReplyDeleteWow...so many varieties. I haven't eaten any dim sum yet since we are back.
ReplyDeleteHi SK, wow! Looks good the many kinds of dim sum.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great place to have lunch.
I can faintly remember Sg. Buloh of the '60s, '70s.
I guess I wouldn't recognise it today.
Here in Toronto we have hundreds of Chinese restaurants, foodcourts, and there's all kinds of dim sum, Shanghai, Yunan, Beijing, etc....
But for some reason or other I have not eaten dim sum few years....my wife has, with her gang. Not me.
Reason being back in old days, for 25 years I practically ate dim sum with my contractors almost every other day....name the State, town, village in Malaysia, I have eaten.
Though there were some memorable places I still remember for their delicious dim sum.
One is that Foo Choo Chun street in Ipoh, near the wet market.
There was or is a restaurant with those old, round polished granite tables, and their dim sum was out of this world. I think it was Hainanese.
And a shop in JB, Jalan Ah Fook.
But today, I rather go for vietnamese noodles, as just not keen on dim sum anymore, ha ha.
Have a nice weekend, Lee.
wow, dim sum..I want all of them.
ReplyDeleteSK, should you go eat 'har mee, oh chien, poh pia', send me telegram. Love to see what they look like now as we have not balek kampong 13 years.
