Been "helping" Papa and Mamarazzi do "gardening" by "watering" the plants. Muhahaha...*evil laugh* Don't worry.....I "water" only the flowers...not the edible plants.....
Trim then the "excess" just plonk in a pot and it will grow. Mamarazzi didn't believe in the beginning but surprisingly....yes! they grow very easily....alamak...much too easy leh....Mamarazzi kept trimming and they kept growing....now got at least 10 Basil plants in various area of the house...
Gave one plant to the neighbour and see what the neighbour gave us...fresh brinjals from her garden!
Now still got a lot of basil in the garden...Hmm...how to get rid some of the basil ah.....Mamarazzi was think....hmm....maybe plonk a few more and give to my teachers as Teachers Day Gift. What you think....? workable?
She saw her friend syok syok planting Tomatoes ...every week can see him harvesting tomatoes leh...so Mamarazzi also took some seed from the tomatoes and cincai throw it into a container la. Hmmm....Mana tau it really grows wor.
Wondering whether these will survive and bear fruits or not....any tips?
Finally a Lime plant sprouted...it's Kum Katt plant. We ate Kum Katt during CNY and Mamarazzi saved the seeds. Throw some into the pot. So far 4 tiny plants pop up. Hopefully can survive la...
Unfortunately the spinach plant not growing well....Mamarazzi bought seeds to grow it but each time the seeds grow around 1cm and it kaput-ed....
Finally fed-up . Just plonk some of the roots from the spinach that she bought from the market. They are growing but not in abundance yet.
Our Brinjal plant....hmmmm....will it bear fruit...hopefully la
But dunno why our Cili plants refused to grow and bear fruit leh....the neighbour ones very big and loads of cili leh.....ours leaves turning yellow and don't wanna grow.....too much water? Too little water? Not enough fertiliser? Maybe I should start "watering:" these two cili plants kot........
yeah yea....this is a very dry post...not run out of ideas ...still have load of backlog to clear but kinda leave it a day or two first la.
Basil? No problem but others like cili padi is a big struggle. Also lime leaves always eaten up but insects. Only the center of the stems remains.
ReplyDeleteyea....i wonder how to grow the cili padi plants. Seems to ketot like that. Put fertiliser also cannot grow
DeleteMy neighbour's lime also kena caterpillar attack
Wah! This is a family with green fingers! Just look at the healthy harvest! After my trip, I will grow my own food! You drove me to do it. Bwhahahahaha
ReplyDeletewah me got such big influence meh.....
DeleteYes, very good idea to give teachers a pot of basil plant on teacher's day. Sorry, I don't do gardening so no advice to give here.
ReplyDeletestill thinking...if teachers day in May..i can start planting end of april
DeleteI just had sambal brinjal at Fareed's today and now I see your harvests! I love to eat them small and fresh! So healthy and good for our body.
ReplyDeletehahaha ...Mamarazzi baru finish cooking the brinjal :p
DeleteChilly plants are best grown in the ground and gets 50% shade away from the sun. That means morning till noon sunshine would be good enough otherwise you need to water twice daily. This is the real farmer's secrets.
ReplyDeleteour ground soil no good. tanah liat :(
DeleteI never have enough light in the living room for plants to grow. But we LOVE basil!!!
ReplyDeletei can understand ...yea...our old place also not enough sunlight
DeleteI guess not enough water, maybe?!!!
ReplyDeleteduno wor....water twice daily liao
DeleteWahhhhhh!!!!! So nice. No need to spend money on food liao like that....the rich gets richer. Hehehehehe!!!!
ReplyDeletecant survive eating basil and ili padi alone leh
DeleteI like this post! My basil plants all kaput due to dry weather and obviously I can't "water" the plants like you muahahahaha!!!! My cili plants also very kedekut with the fruits. Each time will bear only one fruit at a time. Lime plant quite big but also very kedekut. No limes so far. Sigh....
ReplyDeleteMuhahaha.....basil need a lot of water... haiz duno la when the lime and the cili padi will bear fruits
DeleteWah, today is about gardening, eh? Eh, basil hor, my boss say can cure cough.. She was having a bad cough which lasted for more than 2 months.. She behtahan liao, then bok-bek-bok-bek in the office asking for solutions and ideas.. Already tried chinese and western medicine, and over-the-counter cough syrups, but still kennot.. So lat last, another colleague taught her to boil basil with rock sugar (optional), and just drink like that.. Ok wor, worked!
ReplyDeleteWah, neighbour also plant many things hor.. I saw cili padi in between those brinjals too.. Wah, if mamarazzi run out of cili padi, can just holler to the neighbour, then sure no need takut, everything got, kekekeke..
Talking about Teacher's Day, coming soon, in May.. Remember I asked you what you wana give to J's teachers? You said rotan, hahahaha.. Eh, so remember to update me, what you wana give k.. I saw in Pinterest many ideas, but I sendiri malas pulak.. Wana short cut and simple-simple enuff already..
Oh really ah....like that will let my friend know coz her son coughing bad.
Deletestill thinking either rotan or basil...want easy then just give each teacher an apple la
Give an apple ahh? Can also, not to say cannot consider.. How you wrap? And those love-notes? What you wrote?
DeleteLike thishttp://www.smallkucing.com/2013/05/sports-day-and-copy-cat-teachers-day.html?m=1. No need love notes la
DeleteYou got green hands, if plants comes to me, will go heaven...
ReplyDeletenot that green leh
Deletewow, that's nice. Your very own garden!
ReplyDeleteyup :)
Deletemuahahahaha!! at first Uncle SK thought Small Kucing is so good boy to help water the plants.. but then as he reads on, baru he understood the "water" Mamarazzi purposely put in quotes.. anyway, Uncle SK think surely Small Kucing finds it more fun to "water" the plants than to really water the plants lah, correct or not?? eih, can lah, edible ones also can allow Small Kucing to "water" lah, or ever thought of getting Small Kucing to "fertilize" them?? muahahaha :D
ReplyDeletemuhahahaha.....must buy the potty first lor if wanna make fertiliser :p
DeleteMy hand are not good in handling plants... Everytime fail one. Love to be in your neighbourhood
ReplyDeleteLOL...yea :)
Deleteaiyoh, Uncle SK am impressed dei.. basil can be planted so easily and they grow even faster than Mamarazzi's fur!! but the more Mamarazzi trim then the faster they grow, like that Mamarazzi gotta cook every meal with basil now?? haha.. can lah, can cook Thai Basil Chicken, can cook Taiwanese Three Cups Chicken etc mah.. or else, harvest them and sell them in the market!! later Mamarazzi becomes the Basil Tycoon and can be so rich dei~~ :p
ReplyDeleteif only wishes comes true... :P
Deleteerrr, different soil used that is why the results differs?? and maybe also the temperature and sunlight and water and air flow, aiyoh, a lot of factors for gardening dei.. haha, this Uncle SK talks as if he is such an expert in gardening, while in fact, his "green finger" could not even make a cactus plant last longer than a week, muahahahaha!! :D
ReplyDeletecould be la but have not experiement yet....
Deletethis post not dry lah, very interesting instead what.. at least something different from what Mamarazzi has been writing, and somemore not a basi post also mah.. Mamarazzi writes in the tone of a kid, and Uncle SK is actually thinking, the way Mamarazzi writes her post is exactly the way she speaks in real person!! hahaha.. i've seen many people, the way the write and they way the speak are totally different.. this means Mamarazzi is a very genuine person in real or in the virtual world lah.. :)
ReplyDeletewahhh like that Mamarazzi become a kiddo lor ? :p
DeleteNanti I move to my new place, I will come to look for Mamarazzi for some of the basil and mint leaves. Now have limited place.
ReplyDeletesure sure...an see whatever plant that is growing later on... :)
DeleteAt least you guys have green and not brown thumbs, haha.
ReplyDeleteGood problem to have, I say.
lol..kinda good la
