During our CNY trip back from KT to KL, we stopped by Termeloh again to buy Patin Fish.
Looks like there are good demand for fish during CNY. No more fish from the stall that we buy from. The man had gone to the river to bring some up. But the lady boss said dunno what time will be back. Hence she suggested that we try other stalls. Really appreciate her honesty.
By the time done buying the fish...it was kinda late...might as well have dinner there before continue our journey.
For me... I had plain rice and salted egg.
Mamarazzi said cannot la.....so she got me fried burung puyuh. I didn't like it as much as the salted eggs coz it was hard to bite. Lazy me.
Papa took some fried fish and gizzard.
Going there of course la must have the famous Gulai Tempoyak Ikan Patin. Taste? Still as good as every. Even asked them for more "kuah"(gravy)
For me...
I think I better stick to my Salted Egg. Safer coz saw papa and Mamarazzi "raining".
See! Me paling clever right?
Rice, salted egg and puyuh goreng. Safest and yummiest.
Errrr...here is the address again if you wish to try out the food there. They have vast variety of dishes but we took just a few.
C-1, Lurah Semantan, Temerloh. Googled the phone number is : 09-296 5602
Uiiiks, J only had white rice and salted egg? Enuff mou? Ya lor, cannot la, must have other stuffs also ma, to make the meal more balanced.. Must have meat, vege and fish ma.. Eh, surprisingly this round, J never demanded for eggy-gravy kinda sauce on the rice? Keke.. Coz normally, mamarazzi would have already ordered a plate of taufu with eggy-gravy...
ReplyDeleteEh, the fried quail looks hard leh.. No wonder J malas mau telan.. But if mamarazzi peel the meat for me, I will open my mouth and eat also la, keke.. Eh, paparazzi like me also, I will also take gizzard (hati) if I eat nasi kandar.. I love the (soft) gizzard, and not the hard type.. I call it "yun", rite? I don't like the "kan" (kai kan)... Ngam mou?
Everything looks dry & spicy wor.. Vege and fish got gravy, but it was curry lei ger wor.. J cannot take spicy food rite? Then he ma no gravy to eat with rice lor? But nevermind la, janji sedap.. I like the fish and gizzard though.. I don't mind eating just those with white rice...
there dont hv gravy that is not spicy wor...so better eat plain white rice lor.
Deletehe chew chew and suck the bones. Now he likes to do that.
No la....Gizzard is kai kan. kai yun is liver.
Good idea to take Malay food during CNY.. no crowd and prices are more reasonable!
ReplyDeletehahahaha...ya lor...CNY, fish so expensive in restaurant
DeleteOoooo....I super-duper love this kind of food. Can get something like this in Kl or not?
ReplyDeleteyes can...come here/....got one place nice gulai...schedule for friday
DeleteThe 6th picture, Small Kucing expression... hehe...
ReplyDeleteJ is eating with hand. Great! Truly Malaysian. :-)
ReplyDeleteyea :)
Deleteikan patin is Mamarazzi's favorite fish?? or Small Kucing, or Paparazzi's?? because Uncle SK remembers hearing a lot about ikan patin from Mamarazzi, hahaha.. but when it comes to all kinds of fish, they are all the same, just FISH to Uncle SK lah, he doesn't bother or never being able to differentiate them.. errr, except for salmon probably because the flesh is orange in color~~ :D
ReplyDeleteMamarazzi like Ikan Patin coz not much bones. Jelak jor eating talapia
Deletewah!! Small Kucing really has very unique taste when it comes to eating, everything he eats also quite plain lah.. Uncle SK has never seen a kid that is so happy with his or her plain rice and salted eggs, only the old people probably eat only salted eggs with plain porridge.. usually kids would like to have fried chicken lah, meat lah and never touch anything on veggie.. well brought up by Mamarazzi!!! :)
ReplyDeletemaybe he is an "old soul"
DeleteUncle SK will probably go with the salted eggs, the fried quail and the fish lah.. the fish is tempoyak and Mamarazzi knows how much Uncle SK dislike durians.. the veggie is cooked in a "banjir" way that Uncle SK dislikes too, he likes crunchy fresh greens that are not overcooked only.. and oh, Uncle SK also cannot eat food that are too hot and spicy, else sure will need to go toilet very frequent :D
ReplyDeletehahahaha...not stinky la....nice wor....try la one bite :p
Deletehahaha, the last two photos!! cute lah this Small Kucing, like so proud he did the right choice and so happy looking at Mamarazzi and Paparazzi suffering from the spiciness of their dishes, hahaha!! was he saying "padan muka"?? :D
ReplyDeletemuhahahahahaha...ya lor.....
DeleteSalted egg with rice? I always like my mom cooks salted egg with porridge, hehe!!!
ReplyDeletecan also with rice...nice legh
DeleteVery classic dishes in that place. I am impressed that J has a big palate for all kinds of cuisines.
ReplyDeletehahaha...everything also makan cikit cikit la
DeleteI wonder how's the taste of the gulai tempoyak? Heavy taste of durian?
ReplyDeletenot that heavy durian taste. Just nice.
DeleteEverything looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteJ could eat so much food! I am amazed already. When I was at J's age my diet was so fussy and limited in choices.
ReplyDeleteno wonder you so skinny
DeleteI always believed that the colour of our clothes will influence our frequency and luck! So I must wear more "Ong" yellow like J. Now he reminds me of the child actor in "The Last Emperor".
ReplyDeletesure? wow...must wear more of this color
DeleteI am not sure whether I have eaten Ikan Patin before and I am curious. I went to Fareed's place and they pointed me to one curry fish that looked a bit different.
ReplyDeleteBTW Fareed's business really went on greater heights. Now he was given a space to operate inside HL Yamaha factory which is right opposite!! The whole factory is enjoying his food now. Now my pampadam and Teh Tarek are on the house. heh heh.....
you blog about him till he so huat leh
DeleteI love salted egg with rice / porridge.
ReplyDeleteAll very Malay styled kinda food, yumz~
ReplyDeleteafter all this is a malay stall...nice food here
DeleteOhh!! I am drooling over the gulai ikan patin; my all time fav.
ReplyDeletethis one is good. If youy ever go there do try out
DeleteThat salted egg looks like one I baked in the oven before, it turned out so creamy in the center. I had never baked an egg like that, but it was so good that I will do it again.
ReplyDeletenah....we dont baked tat . just boil
DeleteExcept ayam penyet, I seldom eat malay food already. The food here looks more authentic than those sold in food courts.
ReplyDeletethat one ayam penyet is indon food leh
DeleteDoesn't Small Kucing like to eat fish? The fish meat should be softer thatn the fried puyoh.
ReplyDeletecoz this one spicy...
