Fabulous Time at The Big Bad Box Sale and 6th Read malaysia Book Fair, MIECC

Mamarazzi read that the Big Bad Wolf is having Big Bad Box Sale in MIECC. Was surprised when we got there to see that there is another book fair going on. Nice surprise.

Went in the main entrance, pass by all the booth when we finally came to the Big Bad Box Sale in Zone A.

First thing...queue up to buy a Big Bad Box. Yes...a very nice new concept where we buy an empty box from BBWS at RM79.90 or RM99.90..depending on size, then we take that box and fill it up with the books that we want.

The queue was long and there were many using BB1M . Thank goodness that the staffs seems to be have have hands like octopus . The queue moved quite fast. The BBWS staff in blue T-shirt on the left was very helpful . He reminded those who are using BB1M vouchers to get their Identity Card ready for inspection  at the counter.

After we got our box, Mamarazzi went off book hunting while I wait with Papa

Gosh! Mamarazzi took so long to fill up a box. Must be "kiasuism", wanting to stuff as many books into the box as she can

I phoned her twice when she finally emerged from the sale.

P/S : Mamarazzi suggest for you to bring a trolley to carry the box around or deposit the box at the storage area while you hunt for books. She didn't bring trolley. Adoi...hands lengguh liao baru noticed the storage area.

Then it was my turn pulak....Off we went to check out booth of other vendors pulak.

Mamarazzi saw this booth selling super cheap shoes. RM5 to RM10 a pair and it was from CN...is it called Cartoon  Network? She asked the lady why so cheap and the lady said coz it's old stock.

Mamarazzi bought two pairs for me.

Ni anak Mak betul as i also kiasu la...wanna wear my new shoes immediately

 Ready? Nice...wokay...time to jalan!

Saw many exhibitors there. Went and play at various booth and also had free drinks. Pretty soon, it was papa's turn to phone Mamarazzi pulak.

Time to go off from the sale lo...I was not satisfied but Mamarazzi said , no worries...she bought loads of books for me from the sale.

Once got home, I asked Mamarazzi whether can open the box or not. Guess what she said? she said NO. Have to snap photo first. Blerkkkkk....

Fuiyo....so many....can guess how many in the box ka? saw in Facebook , one lady managed to squeeze in 75 books! Wah lau leh! That's average RM1.33 per book leh. Hmmm....how about Mamarazzi....will she be able to top that?

The above are what she managed to squeeze into the box.

She managed to grab quite a number of comics and graphic novels leh. Previously she didn't buy those coz it was price at RM20 -RM30 a book and being kiasu she was counting...what such thin book RM20 RM30...too stingy to buy. But since this round already bought the box...can sumbat the higher priced books lor though it's thin.

1..2...3...4...5... Can you guess how many books she managed to get and average price per book? No prize for guessing the correct number and price ...hehehe.....

The Big Bad Box Sale will be is on from now till 30th March 2014. Time 11am to 9pm. Venue : MIECC Seri Kembangan

  1. Very good strategy - to go for thin expensive books so can get more books into the box. I counted 51 books. How big was your box? 79 or 99?

  2. Why no prize? 49 books...average RM2 a book. Hehehehe!!!

  3. Mama Kucing, so many books.. any thoughts of giving book-aways? This seems to be a bookoholic week, right?

  4. Looks like so much fun! We have seen the cartoon network, we get it on our T.V. Have you been wearing the shoes to play in ever since? You will have books to read for a long time now!

  8. yeah, Uncle SK also find this concept interesting!! just buy a box and sumbat as many books as you can, it feels like you are in the Supermarket Sweep, must plan what kind of books you are getting, and that the books must be small and thin enough and expensive so that you can stuff more into the box to exceed to cost.. this round more challenging because must plan and calculate beforehand, not just grab and go.. :p

    1. ya lo....syok leh just take anybooks without thinking how much to pay as alrady paid upfront.

  9. Uncle SK thinks he will even take a longer time than Mamarazzi, because being a perfectionist, he needs to make sure the total amount exceeds RM80 and that the books must be arranged in a very neat manner inside the box.. and Mamarazzi surely is very good in doing this!! haha, look at her box, so many books stuffed in and she didn't wasted a single inch of space!! now we know, every inch is money!! :D

  11. Uncle SK counted 49 books, RM79.90/49 and it's only RM1.63 a book and of course he is not taking into considerations the petrol and time spent lah, even so, it's not more than RM2 for a book, a very very great deal considering some of the books were selling at at least RM20..

    1. nah...it was 99.90 box leh

but even that also worth it la.

  12. Your mamarazzi always made me giggle when books are mentioned! I thought my Letchumy is a serious book worm but now I have found a clone! Letchumy always made me wave white flags with her books obsessions but Mamarazzi is equally nuts. Bwahahahaha... I want to chat with Kaldip and compare notes.

    1. Letchumi's books and Mamarazzi's books are not same leh. Hers is more serious type of books while Mamarazzi is like DBKL. everything also wallop

  15. This sale concept reminds me of the book buffet sale done by Mega Kidz (I think this is the name of the shop) in the 5th floor of MidValley Megamall, selling Scholastic publication books. Customer buys a cloth bag for something like RM50 (if I didn't remember wrongly) and then they can squeeze in as many books as they can pick to fit into the bag. Whatever books you can squeeze into that bag is yours.
