Southern Thai Restaurant, Jalan Meru Tambahan

Pass by this place many time. Each time saw many cars stopped and "makan" here.

Okay la...one day we pass by here early...around 5.30pm. Not crowded so we stopped and have an early dinner lo.

A bit moody coz was sleepy leh...was tengah syok syok sleeping in the car.

Sat down aje, someone brought ove a basket of Otak Otak. You eat you pay.  You don't eat you don;t have to pay.

Hmm....very red leh. Don;t know the taste coz Papa ate. Mamarazzi and me dare not eat coz scared spicy.

Mamarazzi ordered Kerabu Mango(Mango salad). Hmmm.... spicy but yummy.. according to her la...Papa tried a bite...then second bite then third bite then fourth bite....then....ah...you probably know by now Papa don;t usually like to eat Kerabu Mango, right?

Also we had fried Burung Puyuh.  If you have been following my blog, you probably know that I don;t really like to eat meat. Lazy to chew.

Mamarazzi said this taste good la and asked me to try some....here is where I turned into Dracula. Mamarazzi said the best parts are the bones. Nice to bite and suck suck. I tried....hmmm...really yummy leh... the salty taste and all.

Paa end up ordering one more burung puyuh for me and Mamarazzi.

Initially didn't feel like having tomyam coz Papa's tummy was not well but end up ordering a small one. Wah...very spicy la for us.

Papa likes to eat this. So ordered some lo. It took soooooo long for this to be cooked. Maybe they need to defrost it first ah? We finished our rice and all the dishes, and they were still cooking thing.

When it finally came, Papa had a few pieces only. Maybe it just doesn't suit his taste la.

Apart from this Kerang dish, all the rest of the dishes were up to our expectation.

Again...as this place is like kinda kampung place, Mamarazzi doesn't have the exact address. But it's located near the traffic light where jalan Meru Tambahan meets Jalan Kuala Selangor; right where the main road to the New Bandar Seri Coalfield is.

  5. Wah, looks like beach side, keke.. Like a restaurant next to the beach.. Or on top of the beach.. Something like floating restaurant.. Pass by many times? Oohh, mamarazzi and paparazzi always pass by Klang ga? Hubby also working in Klang la, but he ahh, never once said he wana bring me go Klang makan.. I always ask, when wana bring me go Klang eat? He always say, aiyah, go what la, so far... Huhuhuhu...

The food all ngam J boy eat meh? I see all spicy-spicy pedas-pedas leh.. No eggy gravy with taufu (hehehehe, his favourite, and mine too)...Puyuh I don't really fancy, coz I feel it's hard..I feel la.. Maybe it's just me.. But I like telur puyuh though, quail's eggs.. But cholesterol tinggi oohhh.. But aiya, not everytime eat ma.. I can eat 50 biji ahh !!

Tomyam leh, I like the white one.. Not the red red one.. The white one, I first had it when I was in Krabi.. Sedap dou... Now seldom can find white tomyam, mostly red type.. So, the kerang mamarazzi and J finished all? Or only mamarazzi layan?

  7. I'm also quite skeptical about the red status of otak-otak; its definitely coloring. But the rest of the dishes turned out great though a bit spicy for some.

  8. i guess Mamarazzi's eyes must be always hunting for food whenever she is inside the car.. because most of her food adventures were targeting at restaurants she spotted with her sharp eyes and remembered by her good memories on her way to somewhere.. so this Southern Thai, finally there after so many times passing by..

  9. hahaha, sleeping in the car and wanted to continue inside the restaurant?? guess Small Kucing only got excited after tasting that burung puyuh huh?? okay, now Uncle SK knows why Small Kucing always like to eat things plain - plain noodles, plain rice - because he is lazy to chew!! hahaha, maybe next time Mamarazzi will need to blend everything into juice and make Small Kucing drink lah, like that just drink and no need to chew at all :p

  10. the food looked nice leh, but i won't say that for the otak-otak lah, looked so red one?? either it's with too much chillies or they put colorings inside the meat?? see, even Paparazzi couldn't have enough of the mango kerabu, and Small Kucing ate the burung puyuh with bones till Paparazzi need to order another one for him.. but then seemed like everything also very spicy there hor?? next time must get Small Kucing to remind the waiter that he doesn't want pedas, doesn't want cili already :)

  19. What a unique name! In fact all the Malay warongs here cook the Southern Thai dishes to sell the locals.

    1. It's more of Localised type. cater for local taste

  20. These warongs make delicious and spicy Tom Yams for a cheaper price. The fancy Thai restaurants in trendy malls often serve only Bangkok styled cookings while the Northern Thai food is extremely very rare in Malaysia.

  21. Goodness! You all went to Klang to makan! You gus are amazing la, zoomed everywhere for food. I always suspected that Kaldip's family has infinite oil wells in East Coasts!!!
