Surprised to see the title? Long time ago, Mamarazzi bought a "mui Heong" Salted fish. Errr...what to do with the alted fish head ah? Coz kinda wasted if throw away as it's quite expensive. Papa said cook gulai ikan masin la but Mamarazzi doesn't know how.
Papa said, "you chop the ingredients and I'll cook". Looks like move over, Mamarazzi!
She found some dried perut ikan from long time ago. Washed and dried it.
Dug out some kunyit(turmeric) from the garden.
Blend it with some shallots, anchovies, and a bird eyes chili.
Next door was gardening too and she gave Mamarazzi some daun kadok. Papa said can also add it into the gulai.
Got some pineapples.
Cucumber.
Errr...not sure how he cooked.....boom bang kring krang....come out this dish. Not that spicy . Recipe...errr....no recipe. Just pluck and dump in according to taste.
How's the taste? Is nice, right? Salty and also sourish from the pineapple. So does Mamarazzi and Small Kucing like it?
ReplyDeleteNot too salty coz the salted ish mamarazzi soak it before Papa cook

Deleteusing so many ingredients leh.. got "mui heong" head and also ikan perut!! and blended so many spices and leaves for the cooking (though i do not know what is daun kodok, even with the photo, haha).. and the fact that Paparazzi put in PINEAPPLE and cucumber chunks makes me think this dish must be very appetising lah.. i actually like pineapple in cooking dei..

DeleteThis is really a green fingers family with the Buku Hijau plot of garden. Tun Abdul Razak would be smiling from heavens as he launched this concept for Malaysia. I like and want to do the same now, with rising costs and inflation.
ReplyDeleteno harm just cucuk those halia and bawang into the soil. No need to take care punya. they will grow
