Mamarazzi's Super Smokey Kung Po Sotong(Squid)

Bored with the baked sotong and what not..Papa suggested Mamarazzi cook Kung Po Sotong la.

Mamarazzi pok pek pok pek say diificult la...so many things to prepare. Googled...

Need sotong...spring onion, ginger, onion, garlic, dried chilies, glutinous rice wine, oyster sauce, light soy sauce and dark soy sauce

okay.....sotong - checked!

Spring onion- Checked!

Not much...better than nothing la.

Ginger- checked!

Onion...garlic..checked....

Dried chilies...oppss...ran out....err....Sibu chili can ah? used one only.

All those sauce got la....

Hmm...how come recipe never say nothing about kacang geh.....In restaurant they put gajus wor...Mamarazzi doesn't have gajus so just fried some peanuts la.

According to recipe boil the sotong with some spring onions and ginger

Yikes...sotong shrunk so much leh after drain.

Next step really die kau kau leh...no time to snap photo at all...

according to the recipe....put a bit of oil...throw in the ginger pieces and the dried chilies to fry...wah lau eh....her first time....

in the beginning just stir fry as usual...then out of the blue she start choking...mak oi.....sooooo much smoke and the smoke very "spicy:" type leh...adui...one piece of dried chilies really so spicy leh.......fast fast put the fire to small....opened all the windows wide and even opened the kitchen back door too...Lucky no neighbour was watch else will think Mamarazzi gone mad.

When she can breath baru throw in the onions and the sotong and the whatever sauce. ....stir a bit and add the peanuts...serve with some spring onions on top.

One taste aje, Papa asked...how much chili you put ah..... mak datuk soooooo spicy....

For me...I eat the steam fish lor.  Teo Chew Steam Fish. yumm...

As for the sotong...well...Mamarazzi die die have to eat la

  4. Hahaha, funny post, I like to read.. With your mak oii, mak datuk.. Eh, I laughing now la.. Just reached office by the way.. Kungpo sotong? I like also.. But normally I eat kungpo kai-ting la, when kiu soong in restaurant.. I also don't like it too spicy, but depends on individual la.. Some like it pedas, then baru "cheh farn" (hoi wai to eat with rice)...

Ala, no need to fry peanuts so mafan la.. Go Petronas or any petrol kiosk, mini mart there, buy a packet of Tong Garden cashew lor.. kekekeke.. But mamarazzi sendiri opt to fry peanuts, ok jugak la, homemade all the way.. Best jugak..

I love you Teochew steamed fish.. The gravy sure whet my appetite, with the tomatoes and ginger, I think I will finish drinking the "soup" first, before I eat the fish..

  15. but then i think those i tried to cooked is not so complicated lah.. look at mamarazzi, she has got all kinds of spices and seasoning woh.. but i wonder how come one dried chili only and even paparazzi also said it was super duper hot ah??

i think i know lah, because you fried it with the garlic ginger together before putting in the squid!! aiyoh, like that sure very hot lah, because this will "bikk" the spiciness out leh.. if you put in the dried chili to stir fry a bit only after the squid, i think you put a few also not that hot lor.. that's what i did last time lah, no wonder the chili no taste, haha~~

  17. I dare not cook sotong; worried of being overcooked and rubbery. Yet its a beautiful dish and yes all the way for the fish dish.
