Last week after Ah Kong and Ah Mah came back from China, they wanted to go "Sungai Kurus" to visit the relative who have been discharged from the hospital.
Initially they thought wanna go soonest possible which was on Thursday but usually I have loaded of homework leh. By the time arrived home, no more time and too tired to do homework lor
Hence, we went on Friday after my classes. That way I can do my homework on the weekend.
Surely that was my lucky day. The Principal was distributing bars of chocolate to the students. She gave me two bars and wanted to give me one more but Mamarazzi declined. Then arrived at Slim River, the relative also gave me another bar of chocolate...muhahaha *sugar rush coming sooonnnnnnnnn*
First of all..sorry ya for the poor quality of the photos...coz Mamarazzi curi curi snap photos...the food was like this far....
Then she crop the photos like this.
Nice nice beans...
Eating with style worse that of a refugee coz was famished...it was 3pm already....
This one I can't eat. Pucuk Paku (fiddlehead fern?) stir fried with Sambal Belacan. Mamarazzi likes this very much.
I think Ah Mah like this dish very much. Marmite Chicken. She was wondering how to cook this. Maybe she will experiment at home?
Tapah Fish steamed with bean paste. A bit spicy but just nice to go with white rice. It was our first time having this Tapah Fish. The meat was soft and sweet. Something like the texture of the Patin Fish
Next comes this dish.....fuiyohhh
Thought that would the end of it but then one more plate of it came! Fulamak......
Am eyeing those two dishes. Not for the big big prawns but for the steam eggs. It was delicious.
Really paiseh....The relative saw me so fond of this dish, they siap asked the restaurant "tapau"(pack) the remaining prawns and eggs for me to bring back home.
Not sure of the price at this restaurant but the food here was good.
It's located at Jalan Mahsuri , under the MCA building. It should be easy to find as it's by the main road going in Slim River.
hi, thanks for visiting me~ agree with what you say~ well, i not sure why your comment appear in my Spam inside blogger, lucky i got the hotmail notification only notice it, and published~

DeleteAh! Somebody gave me that Old Jamaica rum & raisin. Still in fridge - have not eaten yet. Food looks soooo good! Sure would love to try. Ya, wonder how they cook Marmite chicken... Tapah nicer than patin lah! Patin is very smelly - I don't like. The fish you all had when in Sibu at MingMeiShi - tapah lah tu!

DeleteBefore the North South Highway was built, this Slim River was a bustling town with hive activities and fancy restaurants catered for bus tourists and family cars. I ate countless of times there when younger. Now I heard KL folks often drove there just to makan too.

DeleteYou surely know the right type of restaurants that serve deliciouss food. I love all of those you enjoyed and that pakis is so good, not much flavors but springing in taste. I too sometimes have to curi curi and take pictures. Once or twice, kena sound by the owners not to snap pictures.
ReplyDeleteRelative know the place so we just followed
DeleteCuri curi take the photos but the photos still came out so nice. Truly pro this Mamarazzi,
ReplyDeletekekekeke.....thank you thank you
DeleteLooks like you all found a great place to eat on this Friday... Smart to go on a Friday --so that you wouldn't have homework to do that night...
ReplyDeleteBet I'd like the chicken --but not sure about spicy fish. I like some 'spicy' taste--but not too much.
