The next morning I woke up early. Mmm...can see sea view from the hotel room.
Again I wanted to go "swimming". Brrr ...it was cold....still early. Papa didn't wanna follow me coz his tummy was not well.
Alamak...after my swim...I wanted to go back up to our room but then no access pass how ah? You see, this hotel security was very tight. Access pass is needed to go from floor to floor. And the funny part is they only give one access pass per room.
Can't take the access pass from the room coz without it, Papa would not have electricity for the Air-conditioning and lights.
Lucky Papa is a light sleeper and heard the phone ringing. He came to "rescue" us and we went to the hotel's Cafe for its Buffet Breakfast.
After breakfast, Mamarazzi went to explore the Gaya Street Sunday Market. I decided to stay back and accompany Papa.
One thing she notice about this street is that it's very clean. Nearly every stalls have a rubbish bin for people to throw "sampah"(rubbish) in.
While walking, browsing and snapping photos, Mamarazzi did not realise that one apparatus on her camera fell off. She did not realise it till she was halfway through the market. She thought she won't be able to find it again but still she retraced her steps. Was surprised to find it at the first stall where she bought some key chains. That is how clean the street was!
There are all kinds of souvenir stalls here. But the prices varies.
Also noted are some local vegetables and fruits.
saw these funny looking umbrella. Too bad it's too small for me.
These bags looks very pretty. Mamarazzi was really tempted to buy but then again....she doesn't use...
Ever heard of head hunting tribe in Borneo in the old days? Well, so far these are the old "skulls" found in Gaya Street. Some may find it interesting but it's a bit scary looking for Mamarazzi.
Yikes!!! Persian Cats, Dogs , hamster and all sorts of pets also can be found on sale here.
Halfway through, Mamarazzi bump into these ladies and a group of men . They were wearing "I Love PM" T-shirts. There was two "lions" performing Lion Dance in the middle of the busy market.
It was after the show that Mamarazzi noticed the apparatus in her camera was missing. There was such a big crowd that she nearly written-off as a goner but lucky she found it as she mentioned earlier
I bet if Auntie Little Bird sees these she would drool. She HEART Seashells. Surprising they are being sold at a much lower price than in KL.
Some of the antiques. If Uncle Twilight was here, he would sure know how to appreciate them.
Not sure of this Calligraphy stall would be open on normal weekends or only when near Chinese New Year. How Mamarazzi wish my Chinese writing can be at least half as good as them.
Loads of painting but not sure of the price.
Maybe my classmate Afik would appreciate these.
Found it!! so this is how Bambangan fruit look like inside. The texture looks a bit like Mango. Too bad the seller did not offer Mamarazzi a taste of this fruit. She would love to try it.
I bet of Ah Mah was there, she would buy some of these home. She loves this.
Well...what did Mamarazzi bought for me? this "hat" umbrella.
And a "Singing top"....opps forgotten to take photo of it. But here is a video of the "Singing Top". But don;t know why when came back to the hotel room it refused to sing. Maybe need to be out in the open air then only it would sing?
Bought a bunch of these Setoi Fruits for RM2.
Overall, Mamarazzi said there is a little bit of every thing for everyone. But need to bargain a lot. She bought some T-shirts from here and the first few stalls she asked was very pricey. After she walk up and down the street, finally found a stall that rice was more reasonable but still higher that what she found at Pekan Nabalu.
My mother in-law couldn't resist to bought the cabbage when she was in KK. It's cheaper and fresh right..
ReplyDeleteis it? i didnt ask the price . But i guess some will be chearper
DeleteLOL... Auntie Little Bird loves seashells alright. So much over there, walao...
ReplyDeleteya wor...so cheap....can you guess how much is the ones Mamarazzi bought for you? You will ketuk her head for not buying more

Yeah, Horizon Hotel is kind strict. Last year when my friend stayed there with her family, she also need to call her family to go down because they only given one access card. Kinda inconvenient if stay with big group of family. Gaya street is a must to go by every tourist and traveller. Everytime I have friends come to visit KK, sure I will bring them to Gaya Street. Did you try the famous Yee Fung Laksa there?
ReplyDeleteKinda good security as those who are not Guest there cant simply go up but true. Kinda inconvenient if in a big group.

ReplyDeleteLooks like Mama found alot of neat things at the market... Glad that it was so clean. Much of the time, markets like that are NOT clean.
Hugs,
Betsy
they are pretty strict about that. It's good as it's for security sake.
DeleteIt's always great to find some "exotic" vegetables & fruit!
ReplyDeletehahaha true...
DeleteWhat a civic minded people to provide small waste bins. I liked that!
ReplyDeletethumbs up to them
DeleteOh yes, I always like to look at antiques at flea markets in China or Taiwan where the old ladies traded their wares or family herilooms for a song.
ReplyDeleteeasy for you la since know are antique expert. If layman like us kena cheated also dont know.
DeleteI love small kucing's funny photos in all poses. Now this hat umbrella is cute on him.
ReplyDeleteI think I have been to this market long long time ago. Everything looks so fresh including the fruits. Looks like the campaigning has started slowly but sad that to announce the election date seems like a big secret. That shows Malaysia boleh!!!
