Time to clear the back logged posts. Yup...the ones about Kota Kinabalu trip have yet to be completed. Yalonh...Mamarazzi very long winded. People can do it in one or two post Mamarazzi will drag to 10 posts...*LOL*
Mamarazzi saw this funny looking fruit. Initially Papa thought it's old coconut but at a closer look, it's not.
The lady said it's Bambangan. Didn't buy coz the fruit is too big. Not sure how it taste like. worried that it will be wasted if we don't like the taste.
Enquired about the duku. Tried a few. Mak oi!!! sour leh....But funny I seems to like it wor. In the end they bought one kilogramme just for me.
Mamarazzi spotted these durian. If not mistaken it's call durian Dalit. wanted to try some but unfortunately it was not ripe yet.
In the end just bought the normal durian to taste. MMm....tasted normal la. Nothing unusual . But after eating this durian can feel that it's less "heaty" that those "kacukan" type. Not much of burping.
Funny how nearly every stalls selling the same thing. But some price are much higher. The first stall we asked, the durian price was RM12 per kilo. The second stall was RM8 per kilo to which papa bargained down to RM6 per kilo.
When Mamarazzi commented how the vast price difference between the two stall which was next to each other, Papa said most likely is a sales tactic. Both stalls maybe belongs to the same owners.
After that we proceed to Desa Cattle Farm . Fuiyo.....looks like a scene from a movie. Entrance fees was RM3 per person.
Mamarazzi noticed that if wanna take bridal photos there, they charge RM100...errr....that is if Mamarazzi did not see wrongly la...old already, memory not so good anymore.
We arrived just in time coz 3.30pm they will milk the cows.
Phew!!!!....this place certainly have its "natural aroma".
is this the cow they are going to milk?
OOo selling fresh milk, ice cream and snack there ah....
Papa bought me an ice cream. Let's go and see the cow.
Alamak....this ice cream super soft la...melt very fast leh. No time to pose and take photo.
I was famished by then. have not had my proper lunch. Papa bought me a hotdog
Must have been boiled too long..super soft too.
Pretty soon the staffs there starts to usher the cows in. We didn't get to go up closed. Only watch from the glass room. Seems that they feed the cows first.
then washes them. Wash off the mud.
Finally attached these suction thingy to the "nen nen".
and milk started to fill the big jar.
Then they did something something and customer can buy fresh milk from them.
Didn't buy any coz scared that it may become stale by the time we go back to the hotel.
A great experience for Small Kucing and family.
ReplyDeleteyup...nice and cool place
Deletethe 'bambangan' tasted sour-sweet (mostly sour lah) when its ripe...has this mango-like texture but rough a bit. skin is hard and thick. the locals normally pickled it and store in a container that can last a long time. eat with chili padi and hot rice...sedap! I always prefer it as a side dish with ikan goreng... =)
ReplyDeletewahhhh...made me wish to have bought one
DeleteMy friend also told me the 'dairy farm smells 'something'. hehe...
ReplyDeleteLOL......special "aroma"
DeleteThe scenery looks so nice and cool. Is the farm covered with mist in your photo - so whitish. Small Kucing must be super hungry when he was eating the hotdog by how he looks. Mamarazzi ate the hotdog too?
ReplyDeleteya wor...duno why becme super hungry
DeleteWhen we were vacationing on one of the islands in the Caribbean in 2001 (from a cruise ship), they had their wares all set up in a line similar to where you were bargaining for fruits/veggies. We could bargain when we wanted to buy something. We got t-shirts from their island for a cheap price!!!!
ReplyDeleteI've also been to the cow barns before and smelled the 'natural aroma'... ha ha ... BUT--I love the milk, beef and even ice cream which comes from those cows.... Looks like Small Kucing enjoyed his ice cream.
Hugs,
Betsy
Started my new Photo Blog today. Check it out. http://betsyphotoblog.blogspot.com/
LOL.....he sure enjoyed the ice cream and the hotdogs....

ReplyDeleteWe plan to go Desa Cattle Farm when we balik kampung this May. My last trip there was more than 20 yrs ago! Still remember the place being serene and picturesque. Showed my boy some photos and he asked if he can milk the cow himself and bring the milk home or not! Funny boy. Haha...
ReplyDeleteme too thought can milk the cows or at least can get closer view...but then again good thing also la coz the natureal "smell" was bit over powering
DeleteWah Small Kucing eats durian ya? Me no thanks, :P

ReplyDeleteoh, bambangan!! first time seeing that, looks interesting huh.. i wonder how it looks like inside and taste like?? you didn't ask the boss to let you try a little bit meh??
Deleteeih very true with Paparazzi's logic hor?? sure the stalls side by side are from the same boss lah, or at least they are connected one.. hmmm, make sense about that tactic huh..
Deletewah, Small Kucing ate so much up there at the farm!! softer ice cream is good mah, means they have less additives and is more natural?? the softer sausage i don't know lah, maybe not very good quality because mixed in more flour??
Deleteinteresting to see the milking.. but i thought must bring the calf to suck first before they can switch to machine?? the milk needs to be PASTEURIZED before they can be consumed, eih, we learned this from Sains mah correct??
DeleteLOL.....same place daily ah....errr.. of different activities can ah?
DeleteDare not ask the boss to cut one wor...later didnt buy scared kena scolding
LOL...could be also la pakat...else how can one sell so high price and another cheaper and yet they dont gaduh
