HCP Roast Pork

Lately Mamarazzi was amazed on how much I eat. Each day come back from school I became super hungry. Eats at least two bowl of rice with soup.

 HUNGRY AH!!!!

Mamarazzi said must stuff me with some oink oink so that I won't be so hungry...or so she said la.

I think actually her hand is itchy to try out more HCP recipe. Saw some blog says make Roast Pork using HCP.

She bought just a small slab if meat to try out the HCP Roast Port recipe as she is pretty new to HCP. She even used the HCP "Terbalik" till she was notified by Kor Kor Jon's Mom.

Boiled the piece of oink oink for half an hour with Salt water.

Everyone mentioned that it's VERY IMPORTANT to poke a lot of holes on the skin to make it crispy. So she used a fork to poke and poke and poke. Easy job as the skin was soft after being boiled.

Next rub the skin with coarse salt but she doesn't have course salt so she used fine salt. Then rub 5 spice powder and salt onto the meat. Marinate it for 2 hours.

Sorry, no photo of the frying process and she was busy avoiding the oil splatter as she had forgotten to pad dry the piece of meat before she put into the HCP. Each time she opens the HCP to peak oil would "fly" out.

Jeng! Jeng! I wanted to grab it but Mamarazzi said cannot as its still hot.

 The skin was perfect. Crispy.

But opps...the meat blacken. Actually it's not the meat. The back part was the 5 Spice powder.

Taste....hmmmm...not perfect. Still a long way to go. Next time must boiled longer so that the meat would be softer. As it is, the meat was a bit hard.

Okay....need more practice!

    2. SK- the skin was successful. Crispy. Only the meat a bit tough. Not soft enough. Must boil longer next time

Yvonne- the dark park is the 5 spice powder. I think put too much. Scrap off the black powder the meat was white

  15. Frankly, I feel the time and the effort that I spent to grill the pork is too much for me to just buy it outside. So, this could be the last thing I will try to cook with HCP. Anyway, good try, mamarazzi.

  26. Ooh I made roast pork the other day too! But I used the oven to grill instead of a pan. I think the outcome was not bad! Meat was still juicy and tender. The hard part was to know how long to grill the skin for to get it completely crunchy. Sometimes it's only partly crunchy and some part of it still tough. Will try again soon!
