In no time at all we arrived in Taiping. I slept the whole journey
Arrived at the Food Court. A large variety of food to be had.
But my eyes is still half asleep.
Auntie Claire when round and ordered this Taiping Special Fried Koay Teow for everyone. Surprisingly it's very cheap at RM3 a plate. So much "liu" (Ingredient).
Also this surprising Fruit Rojak. Special coz it's first time Mamarazzi tasted fruit rojak with Sotong(Squid).
Then it was Mamarazzis turn to go "round" the food court.
Found these.
Her favourite "Prawn Mee". Same like Penang, the Prawns Mee here is called "Hokkien Mee".
Fried Oyster. Hmmm....not bad la... She preferred the crispy version.
Papa's turn to go "round" the food court. An he came back with these "Chin Loong Pau"/"Dai Kau Mee"/Apam Balik, depending which states you are staying as they have different name for it.
It's something like thick Pan cake with grounded peanuts, sugar and some corn kernel in it. Everyone loves it
If not mistaken this is called Kuih Ketayap in Malay. Inside consists of shredded coconut and gula melaka
Papa loves this version of Chee Cheong Fun. It's eaten with the red coloured sauce which is sweet. Very hard to find in Kuala Lumpur as the ones we have here are mostly eaten with black sauce.
Spotted on of their famous Heong Peah Stall. Auntie Elin bought one packet of Heong Peah for me here.
After that we proceed to the next destination......"kau Lui"....
oh..my hometown!

DeleteYta lo i was surprise when they say the price
The Taiping Special Fried Koay Teow is something I would love to eat, but the green coconut I don't think so. I just don't like to eat foods with colors. And the little man is gradually adding in weight, which is good on him..
ReplyDeleteMay
DeleteThe green coconut thingy in the old days they used screwpine juice to colour the skin but now everyone used food colouring

The Special Fried Koay Teow is filled with many fish ball & fish cake. My favourite. Not many stalls selling Koay Teow would added that, mostly seafood which I not really like.
ReplyDeleteSo cute lah Small Kucing - half eye open the other close. Hahaha ^^
Diana
DeleteIt's the first CKT that I had which they fry it like that
