Am Crazy About Mango

Two months ago, Mangoes were aplenty in the Pasar Malam(Night Market) . It went as low as RM10 for 4kg.

I love the sweet ones so Mamarazzi likes to buy Elephant Tusk, Rainbow, Water Lily and if she can't the other three, she would buy Chokanan Mango.

Not really keen to buy Black Gold coz the skin is dark green and it's hard for her to determine if the mango is ripe as the skin remains dark green even if it's ripe. There were a few times where she bought Black Gold and the mango "refused" to ripe. Guess they pluck it too early from the tree.

This one is Rainbow. The skin is a bit reddish.

The seed is super thin. When she was younger, Mamarazzi likes to "eat" the seed. Mamarazzi said the texture of this Rainbow is not as smooth as Elephant Tusk.

But I don't care. It just means more share for me

 Very sweet.

 I love it.

 Good.

Chokanan have a "rounder" shape. The Mango seller said if you wish to have mango that have a lot of "meat", find the ones that had the roundest top.

The seed is a bit thicker than Rainbow.

Texture is not as smooth too. It depends on luck. If unlucky, it could be pretty sour but of you are lucky it's very sweet.

Mamarazzi loves the best is Elephant Tusk. The skin is of paler yellow than Rainbow.

 Seed super thin too.
Texture very smooth. Mamarazzi love the smoothness and the sweetness.

This is the first time we tasted these big indian mango. Can be found in most Indian Cuisine Restaurant. Supposed to be very sweet and very expensive.

Bought three to taste. RM12 per kilo.

Seed was more or less as thick as Chokanan.

Unfortunately the ones we bought was not that sweet. Maybe it was not ripe enough.

So what is your favourite fruit?
