"Famous Price" for "Famous" Stall

Once upon a time.....Papa noted that someone says that there is one tasty Roast Pork Rice located near a Buddhist Temple in Happy Garden, Old Klang Road.

One day...we were at that area and we decided to "Tapau"(take away) from that Chicken Rice stall. Mamarazzi order 3 packets of Chicken + Roast Pork Rice. Sure enough there were many customers having their lunch there.

Can you guess how much it cost? RM20.40!!!

For that price, Mamarazzi would  expect a lot more meat.

The taste was just so-so only. Not up to Mamarazzi's expectation.

A few days later, Mamarazzi was unsatisfied. Hence, after my class, we went to "tapau" Chicken Rice nearby our house.

The Chicken Rice stall is manned by this Cambodian couple.

Just a small stall on the corridoor of Restaurant Kamci near Jalan Utarid U5/3,Shah Alam.

This big packet of rice with Chicken Meat, Roast Pork and gizzard cost Mamarazzi RM5 only.

See the differences? Top RM6.80 with only Roast Chicken and Roast Pork while the bottom was RM5 with Roast Chicken, Roast Pork and Gizzard cost RM5.

Here are the price list of the latter stall.

Really don;t know la...guess maybe some place after become "famous" the price also can charge "famous price" although both also operating from a stall in a restaurant.

  11. RM6.80 for that packet is indeed expensive! I wonder why is it famous if the portion is small and doesn't look good right?

  12. yes, this is a very expensive chicken rice shop.. I stopped eating there since they increase the price.. not worth it anymore... those days were really good.. they have been there for more than 20 years already..

  13. I never knew KL chicken rice or roasted pork rice getting much more expensive in KL. RM6.80 is indeed so expensive and the portion of the meat is so little. The boss is so stingy.

  16. Thanks for yr comment on "Strawberry Fields Forever". Somehow or rather old songs have their innocence. I have never paid RM20.40 for chicken rice before unless eating with 2 other members of the family. As you say, famous name carries a famous price. Just like actors and singers, famous ones can get millions, whereas others get breadcrumbs. Look at how much Brittney Spears is demanding for to be a judge in X Factor, you'll be surprise!! Happy Blogging :)
