Oh Banana Oh Durian...Steamed Muffins a.k.a FATT KOU

The other day Mamarazzi had extra Durian going to waste. I guess readers out there would be pretty shocked to learn that there is any "EXTRA" durian in our house knowing of Mamarazzi's love for durians. Surely all will be gone in a blink of an eye.

Some of the durians were kinda watery and some not that ripe.

Mamarazzi was thinking what to do with them as it's expensive and wouldn't wanna throw them away. We have too much Ice Cream in the fridge so she didn't feel like making Ice Cream

It was like a blessing when she happens to read Elin's Blog about Banana Steamed Muffins

Why not make Durian Steamed Muffins? Although Mamarazzi don't like much eating Durian Cake or "cooked" Durians, but better than having all those durians going to waste.

Went out to get some flour. Just need 150gm self raising flour.

She blended 200gm of the durians

Then used two eggs as per Elin's recipe. But she reduced the sugar from 100gm to 80gm. After beating the eggs to ribbons, she added in the blended durian. Mixed well.

Okay okay...we don't have a mixing bowl so Mamarazzi used a soup bowl to mixed the duly shifted flour and baking powder with the durian mixture.

Pour them into muffins "containers" and steamed for about 15mins.

Oppss...she forgot to add the oil. Hentam la. The muffin looks okay in the end.

Asked me to "eat" the muffin for the blog post.

 Pretend to eat.....

By the way, did you noticed a bit of blue black on my cheek? Mamarazzi asked what happen and I told her "nothing". Then yesterday I was chatting with Mamarazzi something about kicking somebody's bum bum. Then I told Mamarazzi don't kick. Pinch enough la. I siap show her how to pinch.

First have to "Kiap" the cheek then twist. Mamarazzi asked where did I learn how to pinch like that and I told her teacher teach one.

HUH? Teacher teach? She asked is it I have been naughty and Teacher pinch my cheek like that and I told her no. Pinch my friend only lah. But then she asked why my cheek got blue black? I changed topic.

Changed topic just like this. See...I ate a bite of the muffin. Now you can distribute to other people la

Poor poor other people...had to become Mamarazzi's white mice. Hmmm....luckily this batch tasted okay lah

She further experiement. She pop-ed a few into the Toaster Oven. They tasted even better when "Char" a bit.

Keen to try out the recipe? Then please DON'T follow Mamarazzi's recipe. Hope over to Elin's blog to get the proper recipe.
