Unsatisfying Asam Pedas Ikan Patin

Hmmm...I wondered why nearly every of Mamarazzi's project which involved with Ikan Patin fish are destined to be doomed...Only successful was steamed Patin Fish.

It was near Father's Day. Hence, Mamarazzi thought wanna try making Ikan Patin Tempoyak for Papa la since he likes it very much when eating in temerloh. But since we don't have Tempoyak, Papa suggested that she make Asam Pedas instead.

Okay here are the ingredients...ginger, live tumeric, lemongrass, onions and garlic.

Recipe calls for 15 dried cili

Blend the ingredients together

Okay.....ingredients Daun Kesum(Vietnamese mint). bunga kantan(Ginger flower)

and of course a Patin Fish

Some Asam Jawa water

Some vege....

fry the blended ingredient with bit of oil...put in the asam jawa water...throw in the bunga kantan, daun kesum and the vegetables. Last but not least, the fish. Add some salt and some sugar.

The end product....Result...Papa said toooooooo spicy. Another of Mamarazzi's friend said tooooooooo sweet....Mamarazzi said...too bad.

Lucky me...am clever. I bought Papa this for Father's Day. No need headache and penat-penat cook. "Cleber" or not?

  1. Everyone's taste is different. Food that is too spicy for some is very nice for some so if Mamarazzi cooks, of course it is suited to her own taste. So Mamarazzi says assam pedas ikan patin nice or not?

Haha, Small Kucing looks so innocent in the above photo.

  9. maybe the Patin fish doesn't like mamarazzi, or they only loved to be steamed and no spicy for them?? hehe, or perhaps it will only be successful with mamarazzi's improvise way of cooking without following recipes?? :D

I cooked the patin very simply.

      Fried lightly.

Then cooked with lotsa ginger and a bit of oyster sauce.

Sedap and not much hassle. hehehee

  11. well i believe that dishes taste depending on other
people's preference, i mean some people like a dish
which was too spicy some are not
in your case i know you like spicy foods right?

  18. Hey Small kucing, your mamarazzi may not be a good chef because she is a pussy cat too. Her tongue and taste could be weird. Better eat canned food. Wakakakakaka

  19. I thought the best and safest way to cook good fish is to wrap them in foils and baked. The marinated curry paste inside would make all the fishes heavenly nice!
