Twirltastic "Coppelia" Performance in Istana Budaya

I was pretty excited when Mamarazzi told me that we will be going to watch "Coppelia" last Saturday. Many thanks to Jade for making it happen. She updated Mamarazzi about the videos and photos of the performance nearly everyday last week, getting Mamarazzi all excited about the performance.

I nearly couldn't go coz we only have two tickets but lucky for me coz Papa said he gave up his ticket for me lah. Guess good karma goes around, as one of Mamarazzi's friend got an extra tickets for the show. He gave it to Papa.

I look "smart" or not? Both Papa and Mamarazzi have been to shows in Istana Budaya before and know that they had strict dress code. There are a lot of rules and regulations in Istana Budaya... like everyone must be seated 15 minutes before performance starts. Late comers have to wait for next intermission to enter the auditorium and stuffs like that

We got there pretty early. Had a light dinner at the Cafeteria while waiting for Auntie Little Bird and HRH Prince Anay of Thiru-something-something in the great Indian Empire.

Had a nice chat with them before the show starts.

Impressive....clear view of the stage from all angles.

La~la~la~ security was lax that evening. Camera not supposed to be allowed in but...oh well, many were snapping photo of the place hence Mamarazzi also took the opportunity la.

Upper circle not sold out. Papa manage to get a seat next to us which was empty. We have got nice legs room at our row. But the seats were slanting to the front a bit. Guess, it's time for refurbishment.

Photo snapped during the first intermission. I was pretty excited by the  Act I. Awesome ballet. They jumped and twirled here and there as if they are made of feather.

But I kena 'bluffed" by Mamarazzi lah. She said the place is very strict. Late comers cannot come into the auditorium but during Act I, there were people coming in on and off and also changing seats. It was quite disturbing.

Second intermission . ...can you spot HRH Prince Anay? He is seated down there on the left side of the photo..

Act 3 was the best of all! Connor Walsh and Ena Hirose were amazing. They were so graceful.

Hmm...so fast the performance ended. But my tummy was playing drum already. Headed out to the parking lot. Was surprised to see quite a number of people wearing jeans and t-shirts coming out from the auditorium. Some even wearing 3/4 jeans. Hmmm....I thought jeans and T-shirts not allowed??

Oh well, none of my business. My first aim is "Maggi goreng".

off we went to Pelita near KLCC. Was packed withe people  but we managed to find a seat. Sleepy leh....

Perked up when my plate of Maggi Goreng arrived.

Squeezed some lime onto the plate.

Mmm....delicious......

Mamarazzi had Maggi Goreng too with three layer tea. End up can't sleep that night...

  15. I always thought we had lousy seats right at the side and the side wall of their stage actually blocked part of our views. Looks like your centre seats were too near the entrance. They should have been strict and keep the late comers outside until next intervals.
