Papa suggested we eat Fish head Noodle. Frankly speaking, Mamarazzi ate Fish head Noodle only once in her life and doesn't like it. It tasted weird to her for it taste "milky" . Yup, they used milk to make the soup for the Fish Head Noodle
Papa said don't worry as we can ask them to omit the milk. Woakay lo...though Mamarazzi was apprehensive about that but no harm trying la.
This stall is located at Gerai 20, SS20/10, Damansara Kim, 47400 Petaling Jaya
Choosing my drinks...looks like nearly every drink have the same price...rm2-80.
Mamarazzi had Barley Lime, RM2.80. I had Soya Bean with Cendol RM3.30. Papa had Air Mata kucing and Herbal Drink RM2.80
This is Mamarazzi's bowl of Fish Paste Bihun minus the milk, RM9.50.
She said this one very "Hamsap" Bihun. Hamsap direct translation from Cantonese is "salty wet". It's kinda a slang for lecherous.
Actually there was nothing lecherous about the "bihun" (Rice vermicelli). It tasted very good. The saltiness and the sourness of the preserved vegetable was very appetising.
Papa had Haruan Fish with thick noodle RM12. It came with two pieces of fried fish and two pieces of normal fish.
Papa got me to taste the two soup.
Hmmm....which one I like best ah....hmmmmm ...I think......I think....
I think I like the one with milk best
Papa also ordered a bowl of Baby Spinach with fish Paste coz Mamarazzi is like Popeye, likes to eat baby spinach. RM15.30
The next evening I was surprised when I found myself at Damansara Kim again. Crazy Mamarazzi wanna have fish Head Bihun again coz said appetising wor.
Night time the stall by the hillside was not open but the Restaurant is open
Papa's Haruan Fish Head Fine bihun with milk RM11
Mamarazzi's Haruan Fish Head Bihun without milk RM11.
Again I love slurrrrping the bihun with the milky soup
Mamarazzi found it weird coz the price in the restaurant for is higher than the stall by around 50 sens. Papa said the noodle price also a bit higher but can't recall the exact amount. There was an 8% service charge too while the road side stall no service charge.
Guess restaurant have higher operational cost than road side stall as it have air conditioning and all.
Well, be it roadside or be it at the restaurant, the food still taste good .

ReplyDeleteFor mamarazzi it tasted weird lor if witg milk. Mamarazzi kolot la
DeleteHad something like that - instant, from Singapore. Not bad, not bad at all.
ReplyDeleteInstant sure nit as good as the real thing right?
DeleteI also dont like milky.. I like the hamsap like you... hahahaa...
ReplyDeleteJom hamsap together
DeleteI never like soup with milk. I also make sure they don't put milk in mine. There is one restaurant along shophouse perpendicular to Supertanker in Damansara Kim that also sell fish noodles. It is very good but I haven't been there for a while.
ReplyDeleteIt was red and white signbiard punya right? Saw it that night but it was not open
DeleteI think I have passed by this restaurant once else I would have gone in to eat my fav fish head noodle

ReplyDeleteGot a lot eatries but tarak a lot of parking leh...round round cari parking
DeleteLooks good..
ReplyDeleteWaa good
Deleteoh really?? mamarazzi only had the fish head noodles (with milk) once so far?? last time i also didn't like it with milk, but then i took my courage to try and end up i am okay with it.. so nowadays always go for the conventional ones with milk..
ReplyDeleteShe likes the hamsap ones lol
Deleteactually this evaporated milk is just a short cut.. by right, the most authentic soup would have no milk, instead they should have boiled the fish in the soup for a very long time, till the fish melted in the soup and then there goes the murky texture.. of course, like that the cost would be extremely high, that's why nowadays people just use evaporated milk..
ReplyDeleteLetchumi told me that long ago the milky look in the soup was made from something else. These days the sellers just poured milk into it. No wonder pussy cat loathes it as her milk & fish must be fresh in a bowl and not served with noodles.
DeleteOhhhh from melted fish meat ah... didn't know that. Thought all along is milk.
Delete"Made from something else" sound mysterious. Like some thing yucky. What is it?
but quite expensive huh the fish head noodles you had.. when it comes to fish head noodles, i will opt out the fish head lah, cos no meat and so many bones, very inconvenient.. i would opt for the fish paste to replace the fish head instead, like that can eat more conveniently mah..
ReplyDeletePeople say eat rice dunno rice expensive. Me eat fish head noodles dunno noodles expensive. First time having this so dunno the standard price
Deletehaha, J also prefers the one with milk, probably mamarazzi should give it one more chance lah.. maybe the one you had long time ago wasn't nice only.. and i am quite surprise, the one without milk looks so like curry/har mien, the soup is so dark in color??
ReplyDeleteThe without milk one taste like sibu noodles called chow chai hung ngang.
Deletehaven't been to this restaurant before, but i know one very famous one in Old Klang Road and i think the most RM7 only which is much cheaper.. and then i know one in Bangsar Lucky Garden, they use fresh fish instead of deep fried fish, if i remember they don't put milk by default (or was it the other way round?? haha), that one quite nice also..
ReplyDeleteI think the most famous one is that Woo Pin inside Taman Desa.
DeletePapa said he doesn't like the woo pin ones wor
DeleteThats quite a variety of fish noodles. I am tempted with all of it. Should really made an attempt to try this place.
ReplyDeleteGo for the restaurant as its more comfortable.

I have been to this restaurant a few times because I like to eat the fish slices noodle instead of the fish head noodles. Not many places in KL serve nice fish slices noodle. Did not go to the stall because prefers air con. Did not know that the prices of the stall are cheaper. Mamarazzi, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeletehahaha stall opens day time only
DeleteFor me, I like the soup with milk, yummy. So coincident, I just cooked fish head for dinner, but my very special with salted egg white , hehehe..
