Last week we were at the Subang Jaya Book Exchange Programme. We were told of a good news.
The
BEP is moving to a new home! The new BEP Cabin is located at the field along
Jalan USJ 12/2F (near a surau and opposite Arcadia Apartments). They be running book exchange sessions there and other activities.
Jawatankuasa Penduduk Zon 3 (JKP3) had foot the
renovation bill and allowed BEP to use the premises. ADUN Subang
Jaya YB Hannah Yeoh has also kindly given BEP a contribution to furnish
the cabin
Hip! Hip! Horray!
Last weekend, the committee member brought an Ice Cream Maker to the book exchange. They were selling Ice Cream to raise additional fund for extra furnishings and for the upkeep of the cabin.
Yup, BEP have a lot of books coming.
According to Ms Fay, items on their wish list are:-
-2 stand fans
-1 air cooler
-1 more set of shelf.
*Used stand fans & cooler no problem, as long as it's in working condition.

So.....is there any kind and generous souls out there who can help out? Can donate the items ka?

DeleteWhy not start book exchange in your area. It good. At least no need to contantly buying new book .
So far Taiping dun hv this kind of.program too. Can think of it... but need more staffs to gather and spread the information to eveyone. Those bookworm sure suka punya.
DeleteNo staffs at all. This is organised by the residence themselves. If not mistaken it was started by Fay. Just a few friends exchanging books. Then they started to gsther at the corridor of a shop anyone can come drop n pick up books. Later on they moved to usj community hall. More people know about it. Newspaper wrote about this and more people coming in. Now got offer for own venue . But they need some donation of some items lor.
