Claypot Emperor Chicken Herbs and Spices

After gaining confidence in making Ipoh Salt Baked Chicken, Mamarazzi wantd to try her hands on other type of herbal chicken pulak.

Saw this Claypot brand at Presto, Citta Mall.

Supposed to use Kampung Chicken but they don't have it there. Hence bought the smallest Nutriplus Chicken there.

Mamarazzi love this Nutriplus Chicken coz they really cleaned the Chicken properly before wrapping it up for sell.

Saw in TV, suggested to trim off excess fat and make a snip at the drumstick so that can "massage" the herbs on to the meat.

Apart from the prepacked herb in powder form, Mamarazzi also added some red dates, Gei Zhi and four slices for Dong Guai. Stuffed them into the Chicken.

And two slices of Dong Guai into the "hole" at the drumstick.  Massaged the powder all over the chicken.

Wrap and marinated overnight.

After steaming for two hours

Wow....really "Chicken Essence". Mamarazzi did not add water. The "soup" from the chicken was super sweet.

The only down side was the "powder" did not "melt" like in Ipoh Salt Baked Chicken.
Maybe Mamarazzi did wrongly or what.

But the meat sure taste good. Soft and sweet.

MMmm....so fast finished eating the whole Chicken ah? I only had a drumstick wor.

Perhaps, you should dissolve the powder in a bit of warm water and pour it all over the chicken.
