Homemade Dishwashing Liquid from Orange Peel?

In a conversation with Kaw Kaw LC when she came back recently, Mamarazzi got this crazy idea of making homemade Dish washing liquid  from Orange Peel.

She googled. Some sites says Lemon peel + Orange Peel + Vinegar . Some says Fruits peels + Brown sugar+ water. Some sites says Vegetable + duno what and duno what. Very confusing. Found one local site that says Orange Peel + Brown Sugar + Water. She followed this.

Put 1 litre of water into the empty container. Add 100gm brown sugar. Don;t ask Mamarazzi why brown sugar coz she also don't know the reason.

Then "shake~your~bon~bon~,  shake~your~bon~bon~" .....oppsie...I mean shake the bottle...till the sugar disolved.

Supposed to put 300gm of orange peel into the bottle. She don't have 300gm...only have  200gm...hmmm....add pomelo peel also can gua...they are more or less related with each other gua...pomelo and orange....

Hentam la....what ever will be will be....

This is how I saw the "bottle" when I came home from school. Orange peel and pomelo peel in the bottle with brown sugar water.

Why have to wait so long? Have to water 3 months baru can use ah?

Eh...the cap of the bottle not screwed tight. Later "tumpah"(spill) how?. But Mamarazzi said she purposely left it like that so that the gas would come out as there will be gas and also the whole bottle will have black thingy or moldy or something like that.

After three months it would be okay to use. Hopefully after three months, can use la.....will post again if successful....still don't understand why have to put brown sugar. Won't it make the thing sweet??? how to clean like that?

Next aim....Mamarazzi wanna try out Kaw Kaw recipe pulak. Orange peel + Lemon Peel + Vinegar. But before that have to sumbat me eat more orange to get the orange peel .

  10. I tried making with fruit peels but its became moldy and busuk lah. Don't know what when wrong but now after seeing your sharing, I am going to make. Recycling and home made products are for sure cheaper, no wastage and no chemical substance.

  14. The sugar is to feed the bacteria that will decompose the orange peel. But sayang lah to use the sugar. I have heard a lot about garbage enzyme and also the enzyme that is made for eating. Somehow never tried because of the big amount of sugar used.

  15. The one with brown sugar, I have heard. It works from feedback I received. Not restricted to just orange peel but any fruit peel (organic) can be added.

Smalll Kucing, you look so cute in the second last picture. Happy waiting!
