Synopsis from Booksneeze.com
The Christian Zombie Killers Handbook delivers a fresh, relevant look at the doctrines of sin, grace, and salvation.
Ben Forman was just an ordinary guy, a young professional starting his first job and falling in love with his girlfriend. Living in the outskirts of a southern city, he didn’t think the zombie activity so common in the major cities would hit so close to home. But it was becoming clear that the mysterious infection reanimating the deceased was a growing epidemic across the country. The question was, would he stay alive or become the undead?
In this one-of-kind approach to teaching about sin, grace, and salvation, The Christian Zombie Killers Handbook tracks the fictional life of Ben Forman and offers solid Bible teaching to help readers understand the gravity and consequences of life without God, of life as a zombie. Ephesians 2:4-5 says, "But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in our transgressions--it is by grace you have been saved." Without the salvation Jesus offers, we are all as good as dead. But as this book teaches in a winsome, cutting-edge, culturally relevant style, anyone can kill the zombie inside, escape the clutches of the undead, and come alive by the supernatural power of God's salvation.
My comments : -
This book is divided into two part. First you get the fiction part about Ben and the Zombie infested world. On the second part, is the part that explain about religion and about the zombie in our "body".
What I like about this books is that the fiction part of the book was very exciting and fast paced. It's gripping and was a page turner for me. The author certainly knows how to spin the tale and have a vivid imagination. What I don't like is the second part. In the beginning it was interesting on how Adam and Eve was conned to have the fruit from the forbidden tree and hence where the "zombie" virus invaded their body and from there their to their children and thereof. However, I feel it was to preachy for me in the subsequent chapters after being bombard again and again on the Zombie within us.
I have to be honest and say that I end up skipping the rest of the chapters in part two and concentrated on the story about Ben.
I am giving this book two stars as I liked part one of the book and not the rest of it.

So, this book covers religion as well the zombies? Interesting combo.

DeleteI wonder whether this book will make JAWI or JAIS or whatever religious body jittery and start raiding bookstores to look for it.
Deletewont gua...it already lepas by kastam
Deletelast year many books by booksneeze kena tahan by kastam. Even kids nursery rhyme book yang ada "jesus" word kena tahan. Tahan for what pun tak tau
I admire that you enjoy reading books. I don't have the time an patience for books so I stick to newspapers, that also sometimes just flip through only due to time constraint.
