Piak! no eyes see why took so long...Must be all of them too busy reading to meet up
I had fun too. First thing I did was......
Become "Paparazzi". Snap snap here and snap snap there.
Don't this photo looks divine? Just like a scene from under the sea? Nah...I didn't snap this photo. Auntie Alice snap the photo. In fact she snapped most of the photos that night and Mamarazzi just "curi" from her Facebook .
Next of course la I PLAY...
We monopoly the area next to the "adults" table.
It was great fun but very soon the ular(s) adults said full already. ..Time to go home. Guess it's full of books talk and food gua.. It's not fair...We were just getting warmed up.
Came home it seems the adults were still "hyper" . Everyone racing to upload photos in Facebook. That was when Mamarazzi noticed MPH Clicks had posted about Meet and Greet the author, Tan Twan Eng at their store in Subang Parade.
Hmm....why so late baru make announcement ah? Should at least publicise early mah. But then don't care la.....lucky Mamarazzi saw the announcement.
YAHOOOO!!!!! OMIGOSHHHHHHH!!!! Tan Twan Eng, Penang kia plus solicitor turn author going to be in Subang Parade on Sunday!
Sunday morning, Mamarazzi dug out her copy of The Garden of Evening Mists and The Gift of Rain.
After lunch we head over to Subang Parade. Adoi....Traffic jam at Federal Highway but managed to get to MPH around 3.40pm.
By then maybe most of the fans had left. There were only three ladies sitting there chit chatting with the author.
Alamak...paiseh to interrupt them...Mamarazzi hover around there for awhile. Then the author noticed her. Said next time no need to wait. Can just cut in **fuiyoh got next time? star struck mode**
Yipeee!!! He signed these two precious books!
She loves these two stories as it's rich with the Malayan culture and can really pull your heart strings.
Yeah yeah yeah...you may say "of course la.... The Garden Of Evening Mists (2012)won Man Asian Literary Prize and also shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize for fiction last year wor. The Gift Of Rain (2007),
was longlisted for the Man Booker Prize wor. Must be good lah"...but for Mamarazzi, it's not the prize that counts. It's the way a book is written and whether it can "pull" you in and made you lose yourself in the book.
If you love to read, especially about Asian culture, then these two are the books for you.
P/s :
Wah!!! So nice to be famous writer huh? I should compile all my short stories and publish one book...can be famous like that too.
