A Rushed Dinner in Ipoh

Really amazing. No wonder people say Taiping is the town that have the most rain in Malaysia. True enough, when we pass by taiping at the highway, it was raining pretty hard. Just after that particular area, no more rain.

The rain was most welcomed as it was very hot when we left Penang.

Arrived Ipoh quite late. Found a hotel and check-in. So tired...exhausted....snore snore snore till more than 8pm.

Finally dragged ourselves up to find food. Bad weekend. Looks like everywhere was full of people.

The famous steam chicken shop was all sold out. So went into one of the shop nearby. Tired...wondering what to eat.

Ordered Hor fun and Chicken . Papa ordered fried bihun for himself.

Gru gru gru gru...tummy playing drums....only 3 waiter cum cashier working . The rest were in the kitchen.
Our drinks too a long time to come.

Interesting looking flower tea for Mamarazzi.

Papa's plated of Fried Bihun came first.

After Papa finished the Fried Bihun, the rest of the food still have not arrived. Notified the waiter.

Wait wait and wait.....still no sign....called the waiter again. He said their ran out of chicken . Need to wait half an hour. He asked if we want to cancel .

We were quite famished at that time. Hence Mamarazzi told Papa just ask them to serve the noodles first while pending the chicken.

Another 15 minutes wait...our noodles arrived. This one for Papa

And this, I shared with Mamarazzi.

Noodles finished...yet no sign of the chicken...it had been more than half an hour after the waiter told us they had run out of chicken and more than a hour since we came in and ordered. ...end up we decided not to wait anymore. Just cancelled the order and went back to the hotel to rest.

It's not the restaurant fault. Guess there were just too many tourist and they did not have enough staffs and food to feed everyone.

Saw the waiter put the sign "CLOSED" at the door and yet people were still coming in. But one good thing about it all is that the three waiters that were on duty did not show "black face"(Scowl/unhappy face) to the customers.

  12. Never go to that area during weekends next time! :) It is always crowded esp during the festive season. If you like the chicken one, go to Ipoh Garden Kam Hor... one elderly couple will serve you.. but one tip though, bring along your ipad or newspaper while waiting.. but then it is worth playing with your ipad... the chicken is smooth and scrumptious.. much better than the Loe Wong!

  28. Just like what Mecoy said Fried Bihun (we called it Pancit Bihon) is almost like a traditional dish served in birthdays and any special occasions. Symbolizes Long life ^_^
