Well....headed to Glenmarie la. There got Meng Kee restaurants. There are three of them.
I want this!
Plain Keoy Teow Soup RM5.50
I don't want with any ingredients in it. Hence Mamarazzi and Papa "helped" me to finish off bits of the chicken meat.
Mamarazzi had Sui Kow(RM5 for 5 pieces). She love it very much . Said they put a lot of things in the si kow. can taste the crunchiness of the sengkuang and carrots.
The only downside was that they did not have cili padi as dipping on that day.
I had Soya bean(RM2.50). Funny looking glass. At first papa thought something not right with my glass but later on, discovered that the design of the glass is "wavey".
Papa had Miso Ramen(rm6.80)
Then Papa noticed that they have Nasi Lemak too. Ordered a plate of Meng Kee Style Nasi Lemak RM3.50.
Not bad leh ...got a piece of chicken meat. Only downside was that the rice does not have the nasi lemak fragrant on that day.
I thought Meng Kee is famous for their char siew. Now they even serve ramen!?
ReplyDeleteYes, they have expand their business. Even have roast duck now
DeleteWahhhhh!!!!! Macam macam ada. I love clear soups... Too bad the nasi lemak was not lemak.
ReplyDeleteNot lemak enough is good also la. More healthy. Cheap la considering the things they give
DeleteUikkks, jalan jalan cari makan lagi, best lah you... My hubby won't take us go rounding for makan one.. Makan apa saja yang ada nearby enuff wor, he always says.. Sigh.. No "ching chui" one, he says if go so far makan, waste petrol wor.. Mau cekik him..
ReplyDeleteOohh, J's kai si hor fun looks nice.. Ching ching dei, I also like.. Kenzie boy also likes.. I think it's common kids like hor fun soup (or anything soupy).. Senang telan.. Soup also nice (coz it's not mummy's usual + boring ABC soup ma, keke).. Outside makan punyer soup always taste nice, yes?
All the food you ordered also my favourite.. I like ramen and nasi lemak too.. I can finish it all by myself, no need share-share, keke.. RM3.50 for a plate of nasi lemak with chicken is ok wor, not expensive at all.. Yesterday I was on leave kan? I bought nasi lemak from a roadside stall near my house.. Nasi lemak with chicken and 1 telur mata, RM4.50 leh..
hahahaha...dont cekik la. Now everything naik harga liao lo...what to do. RM4.50 kira cheap la got chicken and egg. Some restaurant selling RM10 leh
Deletenoodles and noodles again!! hahaha, i think Small Kucing is like Uncle SK, must be born in the Northern China in our previous lives, because it's said that the northern people have noodles more and the southern people have rice more.. Uncle SK also realized he has noodles more than rice lah, sometimes one week baru have one or two meal of rice only.. we are not "rice barrel", we don't need rice everyday or every meal, haha!!
ReplyDeleteGot "enemy" with noodles lo.
DeleteBut mamarazzi need rice lor. Rice container LOL
wah, plain noodles soup only and charged you RM5.50 for that?? but i see the other dishes also not expensive woh.. ramen at RM6.80, sui kow at RM1 each and the nasi lemak with chicken only at RM3.50.. typo error or what ah for the plain noodles soup?? the sui kow looks very nice leh, but the char siew for the ramen is kind of funny, haha!! how come not using japanese char siew but our very local chinese style char siew geh?? haha.. fushion that is?? :p
ReplyDeleteFusion mah LOL
DeleteThe price is affordable la. Lucky got keep the receipt . Otherwise lupa how much price jor. the sui kow really a lot of liu lo
hmmm, dunno is it me or what?? i always find most of the nasi lemak sold outside nowadays don't have much santan fragrance already lah, maybe to cut cost they use less santan?? anyway, long time never had nasi lemak already, maybe breakfast for today can be nasi lemak.. got one stall outside Uncle SK's house selling nasi lemak biasa at RM1 per packet, always buy two packets for breakfast, cos actually not a lot lah a packet.. haha~~ :D
ReplyDeleteMaybe if put a lot of santan will become basi faster coz thing with santan cannot keep ma.
DeletePrice remain same but the portion might be smaller, right? Not surprising la if need two packet of Nasi Lemak
aiyoh, jakun paparazzi lah.. the shape of the glass is special design mah, i actually seen this wavy glass before lah.. no big deal, but i think the type of glass i like most are those in HK Cha Chan Teng chains, where they give something like a big jam jar with a handle, haha, that one is cute lah, can isi a lot of the drinks and i get excited seeing such a big portion, because you know lah, nowadays drinks are so expensive, give a bigger portion and i am actually happier~~ :D
ReplyDeleteCoz thought eye cheating" mah. Why the glass like senget one LOL
DeleteThe koayteow noodles look kind of plain... or is it that the mama and papa had eaten the meat before the picture was taken? :)
ReplyDeleteKai si hor fun. No la..the kai si is white and hor fun white so tak nampak sangat lor
DeleteI just had Sui Kow hor fun the other day, see your Sui Kow makes me crave for it again, hehe....
ReplyDeleteMamarazzi loves sui kow but never had it with Hor fun before
DeleteI also the sui kau !

DeleteWah.. nice food. J's really loves noodles right. :-)
ReplyDeletesure does
DeleteIt is very near my parent's place but I have not been there yet. I must try at dinner when there is no crowd so that my aged parents and wobble inside easily.
ReplyDeleteYea. Dinner is the best time . There are 3 restaurants nearby each other.
Deletei haven't been to Meng Kee for its char siew rice... is the Ramen localize or Japanese base?
ReplyDeleteLocalize type . But still taste good enough la
Deletethe kuey teow is a bit expensive but if smallkucing loves it, it doesn't matter. As long as he filled up his tummy full full. hehe
ReplyDeletenot really la. It's the price around KL nowadays. Got meat there but the neat and taugeh are white so cant see
DeleteOne of small kucing's favourite is noodle! hahaha! As long there is noodle, small kucing will be happy, right?
ReplyDeleteYou are so right :)
DeleteTempting to make some sui gao tomorrow after seeing your photo :)

DeleteBeen to Glenmarie once!
ReplyDeleteAll soupy dishes are perfect for a rainy day! ;)

DeleteWhile the soupy noodles are good, I don't think I would have enjoyed with cili padi.
ReplyDeleteoooh....But mamarazzi loves cili padi :)
DeleteSmall Kucing is becoming a big kucing soon...LOL, he has grown so much!!~
ReplyDeleteI think I have tried this Meng Kee in Damansara Utama before, it was a little pricey I think, but was extremely crowded! Small Kucing has good taste eh? ;-)

DeleteCan't believe a bowl of ramen costs just rm6.80! Lol!
ReplyDeletePrice is still cheap if compared to Spore
DeleteOooo I also thought is Meng Kee char siew place... then reading the comments above, wah extended the business edi.
ReplyDeletenow they have 3 shops in glenmarie. Used to be only one shop
DeleteWhy lunch time is much more pack than dinner time??? I mean to look for parking, because normally it should like almost the same, right?
ReplyDeletecoz over there is mainly factory and office. so lunchtime a lot of office workers buisnes. But dinner time everyone rush home lor. Not many will wanna makan outside
DeleteI want some of that soup too. It looks so good.
