One or two months ago, Papa and Mamarazzi were having lunch at Chili Padi Kafe. They had Curry Chicken Rice.
Papa commented it's easy lah to cook curry chicken..Mamarazzi pulak...adoi...how ah...like a lot of work leh...with a lot of help by Mr G, she finally "agak-agak" on how to cook Curry Chicken. There were just too many recipe out there. Some say put this and some say put that. Very confusing leh.
Peeled and cut some potatoes.
Used some Cili powder, curry powder and a bit of Asam Jawa water to make it into paste.
Fry the blended ingredient till the whole kitchen stinks till it's aromatic. Add in the curry paste.
Throw in the Chicken meat. When the meat is half cooked then add some water.
Add the potatoes. Boil till the potatoes nearly done, then add Coconut Milk. Cook for about 10 minutes then it's ready to be served.
Alamak....one more thing...while cooking, add some salt . Forgotten about that.
Got some Roti Paratha from the hypermarket.
Fry some in the pan without any oil.
Muhahaha...Mamak "roti Canai" with curry is ready .
Wait..... not yet.....gotta make Ice Coffee ma.
Some Ice Coffee then I can bring it to Papa for breakfast lor. Then can bodek Papa bring me go gai-gai lor.
Good idea leh?

ReplyDeleteEh, curry chicken wor.. Chewahh, mamarazzi pandai babe..
I also have the same thinking.. To me, cooking curry chicken is a lot of work leh.. have to blend this blend that, add this, add that...
Usually I lazy to blend things...messy
DeleteBut mamarazzi's recipe looks simple and easy to follow..
ReplyDeleteJust need to blend only lor..
The thing about blending is, if I blend those garlic and ginger and onions, my whole blended will have "that smell"...
eh blender have two "mangkuk" right? use the other one la
DeleteThe blender I need to blend and puree baby's food ger leh.. So I can't use it to blend the stuff lor..
ReplyDeleteAnyway, the recipe look easy, and the colour looks nice too..
I think it tasted nice also, right? Ngam ngam hou the texture.. Not too thick, not too watery, nice to eat with hot steamed white rice too, yummzzz

Deletehuh?? mamarazzi didn't know how to cook curry chicken?? that means she never cooked that before?? adui, even Uncle SK also knew how to cook!! he rarely gets into the kitchen, but during uni time while studying abroad die die also need to go into kitchen, and there was where he cooked his curry chicken~~ or course just hantam chicken potatoes and the curry powder etc only!! but still okay lah, because curry chicken very tough to cook until not nice dei!! :D
ReplyDeletebut mamarazzi's curry chicken also quite professional lah, got garlic onions and ginger paste somemore.. i think should taste nice right?? somemore with that freshly pan fried (without oil) roti prata, nice lah.. errr, small kucing didn't eat?? because too spicy?? so what did mamarazzi and paparazzi said about the curry chicken agak-agak?? haha..

DeleteWah! Your mamarazzi took all the trouble to cook the curry with raw ingredients from the scratch! Must be really harum and delicious dei. Next time she cooks, I will bring roti chanai over ok.
ReplyDeleteLOL....next time wokay :p
DeleteThe Chef Agnes Chang always told me that those Instant Ready-Mixed Curry pastes are now manufactured to perfection that you just need to add a bit of lemongrass or curry leaves & lemon to add some booster!! Those sachets are suitable for busy working mums!!! Your mummy is free and easy, so she should not use sachets lah. Nanti Kaldip merajuk!
ReplyDeletelemon??? sure add lemon? i try next time
Deletewuah....can open a stall already! ..... i think with potatoes, you might need to boil them first, then add in later.....curry taste better overnight! ....so Kaldip said ok tak?
ReplyDeletesaid not salty enough
