This happens last year. You still remember Mamarazzi posting about Homemade Ipoh Salted Baked Chicken?
It was during that period which I was a bit choosy on my food.
Mamarazzi cooked a few dishes and among it was Ju Hu Char(jicama fry with carrot and dried shrimp. Papa said he wanna eat popiah la.
Shredded some cucumber and fried eggs...
While Papa having popiah I also wanna eat popiah la. Mamarazzi said okay. So I made my own popiah. Mine, I added rice. Then Mamarazzi added some meat and other stuffs in my popiah pulak.
Wrapped everything together....
Weird Popiah but...
Not bad la...she said can "trick" kids to eat their vege and meat at the same time.
sin chan!
ReplyDelete:p
DeleteI like to eat popiah very much. So convenient to eat it with everything wrapped nicely inside but preparing the ingredients take a lot of work. Mamarazzi is really good to make popiah for the whole family. Yum! Yum!
ReplyDeletenot realy a lot of work la...just shred kau tim
DeleteStill need to cook the shredded lobak and make omelettes before cutting the omelets into strips. Work lah.
Deletehahaha ya la...but it didnt feel like much wor :p
DeleteMuka macam kena paksa makan.... hehehe... Didn't you steam the popia?
ReplyDeletenope no need to steam punya
DeleteNice! Like our Vietnamese roll... It's the sauce that makes it great!
ReplyDeleteHere no sauce :p
DeleteNot that weird la, the one that I made, I almost put the same ingredients too!!! =]
ReplyDeletewith rice too?
DeleteYah, a bit, but not much!!! =]
DeleteEh, title said homemade popiah but the first picture is baked chicken pulak.. First look at it macam roast chicken with herbs la.. Like Kenny Roger's chicken like that.. Read on more, oohh, Ipoh yim kuk gai.. Chicken when roasted in the oven for 1-2 hours will be very very tender, soft, moist and juicy.. Even the breast part, that's what I like about roasting a chicken (or baking) in the oven..
ReplyDeleteThe title already enuff to make me drool and wana read more.. Ooh, this time make popiah ahh? I very lazy lor when I think of making popiah.. Coz immediately I think about the shredded vegetables and all.. Malas lor.. But in order to make our kids eat and hoping that he eats, ok la, how sanfu also must try to cook varieties for him kan? Just like me..
Wah, inside add rice timm.. Honestly, not a bad idea, like you said, can trick kids to eat.. The trick is to let them hands-on sendiri wrap the popiah, then it will "smell & taste better" if they hand-made it themselves, thus, they will eat lor.. Very good idea.. When my boy is old enuff, I also wana let him hands-on in meal preparation, then hopefully he will eat what he has prepared lor..
wei shred is very fast and easy leh If buy very mahal leh. One popiah already rm2. But then if u eat only one or two popiah then better buy la coz wanna make the liu also similar price jor
Deletewhy not you try it...the kids will have fun wrapping their own popiah. let them put whatever inside la
Deleteoh, i remember that salt-baked chicken!! mamarazzi put too much powder and it tasted very salty, if not remembered wrongly?? oooh, mamarazzi so hardworking ke?? i thought she just cooked the chicken, didn't expect her to cook so many other smaller dishes dei..
ReplyDeletethe rest not cook geh ....actually quite easy la...,just bake only and shreed those ingredients
Deletehahaha, only having popiah for dinner?? errr, enough meh?? or that was just a snack?? no wonder Small Kucing wanna have some rice, else i think won't be filling enough.. but i like his idea, hahaha, so creative to wrap his dish all into the popiah skin!! nice woh, put rice, chicken, cucumber and the juhuchar inside.. but what was may be lacking - more sauce to make it taste a little wet but nicer??
ReplyDeletevereyday eat rice Papa bored la. Som try eat vege lo
Deletehahaha, i think not bad lah, popiah stuffed with rice, see Small Kucing enjoyed eating it.. but in that photo, what Uncle SK saw was that there was a big bottle of METHOD in the kitchen!! hahahaha, haiyoh, mamarazzi surely is the best ambassador of METHOD products huh?? but sekejap ada METHOD and KFC, the next photo sekejap hilang.. doing magic ke?? hehehehehe :D
ReplyDeleteSK's eyes altho' small but can see very clearly wor..
DeleteSo observant you..
Method and KFC plastic bag also can see, ngor hou pui fook lei..
