Mini Sausage Rolls Using Breadmaker

The other day Mamarazzi was ambitious. Wanna try out how to make Mini Sausage Rolls. Ran out of bread flour so used about 100gm of All-Purpose Flour and 50gm of wholemeal flour .

As usual, add in all the wet ingredients first followed by the dried ingredients. Set to "Dough" mode.

It took about 1hour and 30 minutes for the dough to be ready

Being lazy, Mamarazzi just poured hot water on top the mini sausages and left them for about 5 minutes.

Took out the dough. Press out the "air". Divide it into 8 portion and roll each portion into keropok lekor cilinder shape and start wrapping the mini sausages.

"Painted" them with egg white . Left them for about 10 minutes and they will double up in size.

While waiting, she preheated the oven to 180C.

Once okay, in goes the mini sausages to the oven....baked about 10 minutes...hmm....color still pretty white...so she set for another 10 more minutes la....

Oppppsie....a bit too dark pulak.....

When I came home from school...what did I say? Eeee ....looks like poo pooty.... *pengsan*

Here is the recipe  for the Dough. Follow it at your own risk.:

150gm Bread flour.
2.5gm Red Cap Sure Bake Yeast
15gm of butter
5gm sugar
2.5gm salt
1 egg(about 80gm) plus milk about 50gm
8 mini sausages
1 egg yolk for egg wash

Methods:

- pour in the milk, egg & butter
- follow by the flour
- salt then sugar
- last make a hole in the middle of the flour pile and put in the yeast.
-once the dough is ready, take it out from the Breadmaker and press out the air.
-Divide into 8 portion and wrap the mini sausages.
- leave them to rest for 10 minutes before putting into preheat oven at 180C. baked for 15minutes. Cross your fingers and hope the colour will come out just nice .

  9. eih, sausages are actually cooked right?? and i think no need to precook them again when you bake the sausage roll.. i remember seeing bakeries just place the sausage with the dough and masuk saja like that into the oven.. or maybe they also "look" with hot water first that i cannot see lah :)

  15. Usually, if i want to make (instant) sausage rolls, I use instant pastry slices (Kawan brand). Then I roll the pastry with onions, cheese, cili sauce, mayonaise and sausages, then bake for half an hour. Then I will have my (instant) sausage pastry, haha.. Ini cheating punya la...For lazy mummy like me..
