Yay! Last Thursday was Mid-Autumn festival a.k.a mooncakes festival
Papa loves it very much. Much nicer than those store bought. Not that sweet too. Just nice.
Anay claimed that he help Letchumi to make the paste. Betul ka? Thank you again for the mooncakes .

"Pua Kumbu is a traditional patterned multicolored ceremonial cotton cloth used by the Iban, made and used in Sarawak, Malaysia. Pua kumbu are woven by Dayak women and are considered to be sacred objects. They are used for lifecycle rituals and special events including the birth of a child, coming of age celebrations, receipt of an important item to a longhouse, and to screen a corpse that is being laid out in a longhouse prior to burial.
Beside Pua Kumbu, there are also Pua Sungkit and Pua Karap."

DeleteEh hello! Who who who is rich man?? Adoi i got help to buy ingredients and stir the paste lah. This recipe got lots of pantangs one, so I had to stay out of the kitchen for perfections.

DeleteI don't know about Minions or anything, you just look plain CUTE!!! The Moon cakes look wonderful and special. And the Pua Kumbu are so beautiful looking, would be so pretty just thrown over couch at home or to snuggle in.

Deleteyes, those mooncakes look very delicious indeed, better than those sold outside.. the skin is thin, the lotus paste is packed, and more importantly fresh and moist enough, and i guess it's also not as sweet and as oily and as jelak as those commercial ones right??

DeleteLetchumy used to help her mother to make moon cakes when she was a small kid. Of course she chose her own recipe this time as she didn't want to use preservatives. We learnt a lot from this experience on how the ancient Chinese folks ate them in China! They had no fridge and the weather was cold & dry at this Mid Autumn, so they never used preservatives in this recipe she found. Here our weather is so hot & humid and fungus will grow very fast.
