I remember Mommy Ling posting about one delicious and cheap Nasi Lemak. It was located near the Mooncakes Factory.
One morning, we head out and "tapau-ed" one for my breakfast. Hmmm...cheap....RM1.20 only and big portion too.
That evening after "borong-ing" the mooncakes, Papa and Mamarazzi noticed this Cili Padi House located at Jalan Utarid U5/14 which was two streets away from the mooncakes sale.
Went there to have a drink. Hmm...not bad leh. Price is like normal cafe price though it's in a secluded industrial area.
The good thing is that there is free WiFi there. Mamarazzi being "kiasu" ...immediately uploaded the mooncakes price list in Facebook for friends to see.
Service there was fast and friendly too.
One of the staffs gave Mamarazzi this....hmm....50% discount on all beverages...as you know, eating out nowadays is pretty expensive. Though food price is not high but usually it's the drinks price that eats into the bill.
Saw the Menu , they have lunch promotion too. Around RM9.90 to RM13.90 with drinks. Not bad la. Can curi ayam go online and have air-cond too .
Here is the address if you happens to be in the area or when you go " borong-ing" moncakes.

That is near your old house...and you never saw this cili padi place before, kah? Or maybe it's new? So cheap the nasi lemak... The one in the picture, how much?
ReplyDeleteits in factory area
Deletethe nasi lemak was rm1.20 only
Not sure what moon cakes are but they sound very interesting. I am really hungry right now too.
ReplyDeleteit's a kind of sweet pastry
DeleteSo that is what mama kucing does these days.. go here and there...curi online.. hehehe... great idea!
ReplyDeleteya lor...else what to do
DeleteSo that is what mama kucing does these days.. go here and there...curi online.. hehehe... great idea!
ReplyDeleteYou looks SOOO happy with that ice-cream cone!! Wish could have tasted it!
ReplyDeleteheheheh..my reward "p
DeleteHave a great weekend...
ReplyDeletesame to you Sharon
DeleteAh nasi lemak at RM1.20 still.. so nice. And such a big portion too! Definitely miss that!
ReplyDeleteyea cheap lor with such good portion
DeleteI have been there once, the Cili padi house. I went there during lunch hour and they got my order mixed up..but the food is not bad.
ReplyDeletenewly open gua...last time was laksa shack is it..?
DeleteIts worth the try especially with the 50% discount.
ReplyDeleteI love the name of the place - Cili Padi House!
ReplyDeleteI thought the menu will be full of stuff with cili padi, but at first glance it doesn't seem so. It'll be cool to have a menu with every dish full of cili padi. Haha!
50% off is great, the most I've seen is 20% off at the crappy cafe below my place.
me too thought it's full of cili padi but guess it;s just the name. Food pretty much like cafe type .
DeleteChili Padi House sounds spicy! Wah, u can tahan ah???
ReplyDeleteno cili padi thank goodness
Deletewow, that box of nasi lemak is just RM1.20?? the portion is not small at all and seems to have just anything.. i still can get a packet of nasi lemak at RM1 outside my house, basic one lah, but i think not as much as that in the photo.. i always need to buy two packets only enough to satisfy myself~~ :D
ReplyDeletethis is the basic one..not bad la .portion quite big.
Deleteyou are very right mamarazzi!! i so agree with you that usually it's the drinks price that eats into the bill!! how ridiculous, and some of the drinks can be more expensive than the food itself, really cannot accept that.. and the cost of drinks, barely RM0.50 i guess, especially those fancy ones, just made of ice and colorings and flavorings only but selling nearly RM10 a cup.. very high profit margin dei~~
ReplyDeleteSOme places don't even serve plain water summore. Have to buy overpriced mineral water. Haish.
Deletei know of one place...doesnt even have chinese tea some more its chinese food type of restaurant...they selling fruit juices for rm6-rm9.
Delete50% discounts on beverage, i think they still earning a good profit also.. but good marketing strategy to give discount coupons to customers lah.. usually when customers get discount coupons, surely they will not waste that, indirectly they actually spent more and the restaurant untung more lor.. both happy lah, win win situation.. :)
ReplyDeletei think that place mostly for those working nearby. Coz quite far away from any residential houses...
Deleteand the lunch promo from RM9.90 to RM13.90, not bad lah, looking at almost everyone doing such promo (after McD pioneered this with their McValue lunch), just have to follow else difficult to sustain through stiff competitions.. and i think Malaysians are already pampered and so get used to cheap set lunch nowadays..
ReplyDeletetoo too expensive then the factory workers cant afford ....
DeleteI love that simple kind of nasi lemak.
ReplyDeleteyeah lo...simple is best and cheap too
DeleteEi! APa you cerita?
ReplyDeleteSo short, finish dy? LOL
Cerpen :p
DeleteCan borong? Oh yeah, mooncake festival is around the corner...
ReplyDeletecan....but over liao
DeleteI like the name- cili padi which suggests that their food is gonna be very spicy, suits someone like me, i can't live without chilies, haha. The nasi lemak is cheap but it doesn't seem to have much "liu" or ingredients to complement it, does it?
ReplyDeleterm1.20 is normal lor. Want liu then have to add more money LOL....portion bigger than the nasi lemak bonjot which is selling for rm1.20 now
DeleteI saw a branch of this Cili Padi in Ipoh's town during my treasure hunt's trip.
ReplyDeletethat one is cili padi cafe is it?
DeleteSo long never eat nasi lemak liao la, miss it!!
ReplyDeletetime to makan lo
