Beef Noodles at Restaurant Lai Fong, Jalan Tun H. S. Lee

What did you do during Hari Raya? Usually we “balik kampung” during Hari Raya but this time we did not  do that coz of the “big project”.

Didn’t know what to eat. Papa drove around and somehow arrived downtown. Nearly cannot recognize KL City center. Thought we arrived at a foreign country.

There was a long queue at the opposite restaurant, the famous Seng Kee Beef Noodle. We opted for Beef Noodle at Restaurant Lai Fong instead. Wah lau eh….also need to wait very long leh.

When Mamarazzi tried to order, the lady showed her the “hand sign” . Means wait. Waited for about 10 minutes still nobody come to take our order so Mamarazzi went to the stall to order la but was told that they will come to take our order shortly.

Papa also attempted to order with the same result. I guess there are just too many people ordering the same thing and they were shirt of staffs gua.
As I was super hungry, Papa went to the next stall to order Chicken Rice for me.

Is this mine?

I gobbled up the rice as it arrived. No la…I didn’t eat it all . I shared the Chicken rice with Papa. I eat the rice while Papa eats the meat.
Oh well, just my luck. Within a few minutes after the Chicken rice arrived, the lady came to take our order.

Initially I thought I won’t get to eat the beef noodle as I already had Chicken rice but then Mamarazzi still ordered beef keoy teow soup for me.
Papa’s bowl of mixed beef noodles

Mmarazzi’s bowl of mixed beef Bihun.
And my Beef keoy teow soup just the way I like it…with out any “liu”(ingredients). Couldn’t finish the Keoy Teow all by myself but still satisfied la since I get to taste the beef keoy teow.

Nice place to “makan” but don’t think will go again during Public Holiday coz of the long wait. Will definitely go on a normal day.

After makan, we went to Old Klang Road. Papa "tapau-ed" the Cendol from the famous Cendol stall....Mamarazzi noticed this sign...Funny.

  5. yalah, that area sure doesn't look like KL anymore nowadays with so many foreigners packing the place.. normal days like that, and surely no need to mention during public holidays!! well, maybe now a tourist "attraction" to have all these Little XXX in KL huh?? :p

  6. aiyoh, these two restaurants always packed with people one, especially during lunch hour, be it normal days or during public holiday.. so either you go there during the off-peak hours, or you just have to be patient to wait.. :)

The beef noodles look nice with the soup. Next time try S'ban beef noodles (dry type). Very delicious as it was topped with salted vege and peanuts.

  12. We used to avoid this stall due to the traffic congestion, but now they have another shop in Cheras. Same taste, but much more comfortable surroundings (ie. air cond). The address is at Lai Foong Beef Noodle Shop Cheras, 8, Jalan Nadchatiram, Taman Taynton View, Cheras, 56000 KL. Operating Hours: 8.00 am – 4.00 pm, Off Day: Every Tuesday except public holiday (business as usual)

  14. I hate when I go to a restaurant and you have to wait so long to give your order... It kind of makes me wonder if they really want my business or not. Maybe they need to hire more waitresses. Happy to hear you liked the food enough to go back.

How come Small Kucing only likes to eat nasi kosong and kuey teow kosong without any chicken meat or beef? Does he drink milk to get his protein?
