What did you do during Hari Raya? Usually we “balik kampung”
during Hari Raya but this time we did not
do that coz of the “big project”.
Didn’t know what to eat. Papa drove around and somehow
arrived downtown. Nearly cannot recognize KL City center. Thought we arrived at
a foreign country.
There was a long queue at the opposite restaurant, the
famous Seng Kee Beef Noodle. We opted for Beef Noodle at Restaurant Lai Fong
instead. Wah lau eh….also need to wait very long leh.
When Mamarazzi tried to order, the lady showed her the “hand
sign” . Means wait. Waited for about 10 minutes still nobody come to take our
order so Mamarazzi went to the stall to order la but was told that they will
come to take our order shortly.
Papa also attempted to order with the same result. I guess
there are just too many people ordering the same thing and they were shirt of
staffs gua.
I gobbled up the rice as it arrived. No la…I didn’t eat it all
. I shared the Chicken rice with Papa. I eat the rice while Papa eats the meat.
Oh well, just my luck. Within a few minutes after the
Chicken rice arrived, the lady came to take our order.
Initially I thought I won’t get to eat the beef noodle as I already
had Chicken rice but then Mamarazzi still ordered beef keoy teow soup for me.
Papa’s bowl of mixed beef noodles
Mmarazzi’s bowl of mixed beef Bihun.
And my Beef keoy teow soup just the way I like it…with out
any “liu”(ingredients). Couldn’t finish the Keoy Teow all by myself but still
satisfied la since I get to taste the beef keoy teow.
Nice place to “makan” but don’t think will go again during
Public Holiday coz of the long wait. Will definitely go on a normal day.
After makan, we went to Old Klang Road. Papa "tapau-ed" the Cendol from the famous Cendol stall....Mamarazzi noticed this sign...Funny.
Yum! Yum! Roast pork looks good... Hey! I minat beef noodles lah! Why did not take me here to eat when I was in KL? Tsk! Tsk!
ReplyDeleteThat place no air cond la n quite cramp. Scared u not comfy leh
DeletePublic holidays over here in Ipoh also same.. all jammed up.. but I thought KL better cos many balik kampung...
ReplyDeleteCoz ppl come vacation to kl also la
DeleteThe roast pork makes me drooling...

DeleteI am sure that photo was taken in downtown Bangladesh!! So lucky that Small Kucing went there!
ReplyDeleteMust ask ah boy is it like india coz he been there
DeleteWhat BIG PROJECT again? You love to keep us excited and in suspense! I guess that Kaldip is going to open a restaurant soon!
ReplyDeleteIf kaldip open restaurant, you advertise for him for free or not? You hv international readership
Deleteyalah, that area sure doesn't look like KL anymore nowadays with so many foreigners packing the place.. normal days like that, and surely no need to mention during public holidays!! well, maybe now a tourist "attraction" to have all these Little XXX in KL huh?? :p
ReplyDeleteMaybe lo... tourist attractions
Deleteaiyoh, these two restaurants always packed with people one, especially during lunch hour, be it normal days or during public holiday.. so either you go there during the off-peak hours, or you just have to be patient to wait.. :)
ReplyDeleteHungry jor..can't wait for off peak hour
Deleteanyway, i always prefer the beef noodles opposite the road, more suitable for my taste lah.. prefer the clearer soup and i think also cheaper opposite the road, haha!! anyway, most of the time i have the dry version, their homemade LSF very nice woh..
ReplyDeleteIf opposite the road we usually tapau home as the shop quite small
Deleteoh, i just remember there's a CKT in that Lai Fong kopitiam, nice also.. why didn't mamarazzi try that?? the chicken rice nice ah?? have not tried before, i tried the pork noodles before but not nice.. and there's one wanton noodles in the next shop, nice also, they put some salted fish in their wantons, kind of special lah.. :)
ReplyDeleteThe chic rice good also. Ohh ya ka...next time will try the wantan
Deletehaha...laughing at that sentence where u said u can't regconized KL city center. haha...Seremban is the same...flooded with 'them' during weekends and PH.
ReplyDeleteThe beef noodles look nice with the soup. Next time try S'ban beef noodles (dry type). Very delicious as it was topped with salted vege and peanuts.
Seremban too ah? I thought kl affected only
DeleteYes hv tried the seremban punya.
I like the hard-boiled egg..yummy!
ReplyDeleteSame here
DeleteHahah! Really funny sign. :p
ReplyDeleteSmall kucing so good boy. Can eat the chicken rice and kuay tiaw.
Famished ma
DeleteWe used to avoid this stall due to the traffic congestion, but now they have another shop in Cheras. Same taste, but much more comfortable surroundings (ie. air cond). The address is at Lai Foong Beef Noodle Shop Cheras, 8, Jalan Nadchatiram, Taman Taynton View, Cheras, 56000 KL. Operating Hours: 8.00 am – 4.00 pm, Off Day: Every Tuesday except public holiday (business as usual)
ReplyDeleteOoohhh... good. Will try out the shopbif we are in that area :)
DeleteI have much about this place though have never tried before. Beef is out for us but I am tempted over the chicken pieces with the egg.
ReplyDeleteThe CKT also not bad
DeleteI hate when I go to a restaurant and you have to wait so long to give your order... It kind of makes me wonder if they really want my business or not. Maybe they need to hire more waitresses. Happy to hear you liked the food enough to go back.
ReplyDeleteSame here but mbe they small business. Can't afford to hire more people
DeleteNormally in Lai Fong, difficult to find seats also during lunch time. Lucky you all can find seats. Wah easy to bring up Small Kucing, only wants to eat nasi kosong without any chicken meat and also noodles kosong without any beef.
ReplyDeleteHe doesn't like meat lo
DeleteLol..yea crazy criwd during lunch timr but we were lucky coz got table easily
I think my first comment just went awol so I am leaving it here again. During lunch hours on normal working days, it is difficult to find seats in Lai Fong. So was it difficult to find seats during Raya that day when you all were there?
ReplyDeleteHow come Small Kucing only likes to eat nasi kosong and kuey teow kosong without any chicken meat or beef? Does he drink milk to get his protein?
Yes he drinks milk daily :)
DeleteEat boiled eggs n steamed eggs too
The sign is so funny lo, in order reminds their customer to pay!!! Hahaha!!! =]
ReplyDeleteIt's with humour la.
DeleteThis is my fav beef noodle in the whole wide world! Kuah cheong, I know. haha..
ReplyDeleteIt's always lai fun for me, thank you. Some days I'd order the big bowl. It used to taste better when their dad was preparing it. Nowadays, he sits collecting money at the counter. Which reminds me, I haven't been there for a while. Yum! Double Yum!!
really ah? the one sittinbg at the counter is the dad? didnt know this.
