Close Encounter with Shark at Restoran Mei Hiong, Kuantan

To the sea to the sea sea sea~ *to the tune of Hi-5 song*

More than a week ago we went Wolf hunting again.. Yuppp....all the way to Kuantan....stayed right at The Zenith Hotel...right next to where The Big Bad Wolf Books sale was held.

 AH.......relaxing...

Tak aci.....Tarak kasi me reax! Slave driver....Hmmm....no fun leh..gotta do "homework"

Lucky for me coz Aunty CC came to the rescue....off we went food hunting. Everyone were famish. All skipped lunch to get to the sale....now dinner time leh.....the tummy drum sound super loud liao.

Wahhhh......so nice leh...Auntie C even bought "dessert" for us .

Tapau-ed Taufu Fa for us.  Yumz...guess how much? RM1 only and for such a big bowl! Auntie CC taste and said it's too sweet but Mamarazzi tasted was ok.

This is the VIP dish that Auntie CC had wanted us to try for a few years already.

Yup...Shark Meat! Okay okay...don't shoot yet...it's shark meat ..not shark fin...means they are utilising the whole fish...not kill the shark for its fins only..

Stir fry with spring onion and ginger. Mm....delicious. Some people had warned Mamarazzi that shark meat is tough but this one no leh...this one was tender and Mamarazzi love the oil part.

Next ginger chicken. Also tasted good. Mamarazzi like the gravy coz a lot of ginger in it. Can ahem ahem...let all the wind out fter eating this .

Popcorn!!! errr...not la...it's actually fried sotong. Mamarazzi was surprised as the batter doesn't look fried long enough but the it was crunchy.

 Some greens for the tummy

This taufu dish taste good too but we could not finish it coz its too much already.....Portion for each dish were big though we ordered for four persons only. There were 7 of us. Three kids and four adult. Yet...we can't finish....

Not sure whether it's pricey or not as Auntie CC paid for the dinner. Thank you very much Auntie CC.

Here is the address if you wish to try out the  shark meat.

  1. I think Tau fu is more like a version of our Taho... our taho is made from same ingredients but they add caramelized brown sugar and sago ... we used to have this during breakfast when I was a kid
