December sure many wedding leh. First was a relative in Slim River.
Door Gift very "canggih" leh . Errrr...please pardon the coming photos as some are very "pink" due to lighting
Arrived there early. The wedding was held in a temple. Walked around.
The arrival of wedding car were "announced" by the blooming sound for fire crackers.
Wah lau eh....manyak syok leh
Good thing about small town wedding is that the banquet starts promptly. Makan time!!!....Muhahaha....evil look from Mamarazzi and me.
Food that night was cater from Beng Kee Seafood Restaurant, No : PT4, Batu 6, Jalan Bernam, 45500 Tanjung Karang, Selangor.
Presentation may not be much but the dishes were superb.
The evening starts off with "Mini Special Phun Chai" . It was sure special. The pot was fill to the top with goodies like Prawns, sea cucumber, scallops, oyster , pork and many more.
I love everything.Slurp....kiasu. Kept asking Mamarazzi if there are anything left . Scared not enough. But no worries leh. There were plenty to share.
Next Came "Lobster 2 Special Combinations"....Menu says 3 but counter there were 4 leh....Typo error?
Lantak aje la. I love the fried stuffs especially the wons which is wrapped in fried bihun. Very crunchy.
Eh .....surprisingly there were still plenty of meat in the lobster head leh. How we knew....coz we went and opened up the lobster head and divided among our table. All "Kaki lang"(relatives) , so no need to shy shy lo.
what football is this???
jeng! Jeng! Braised Pork Limb with Sea-cucumber.
Mamarazzi said this is nice. The herbs scent not too overpowering. But I preferred to have the "man Tao"(bun) instead.
Am aiming for the next dish.
Yup...Roast Duck and Crispy Chicken Combination.
The Roast Duck skin was sure crispy.
Can't get enough of it
Still chewing the delicious drumstick when the next dish arrived.
Steam Fresh Coral Trout. It was really fresh leh. No reddish frozen blood that usually found in frozen fish.
Aha....this is something that is must have during Chinese wediing dinner....YUMMMMMMMMMM SENG!!
The Bride and Groom with their immediate family greeting the guests with loud YUM SENG session
Yum seng liao...tummy super full liao la...still got some more dishes to come.
Next was Mixed Vegetables. Yummy....They added water chestnut into this. Making the dish sweet and crunchy.
Saw the Menu stated that this is Fried Rice with Anchovies.....but but.......git dried scallop and macadamia nuts too. Betul betul ho liao ah....
The last dish was Ice Coral Grass. By then....everyone full liao lo.....

Deleteall relatives sure more happy lah, see Mamarazzi and Small Kucing also no shy to camwhore and take photos of all the dishes.. like that good leh, unlike sitting with some other friends or relatives of the couple whom we do not know, very paiseh to even eat not to mention camwhore and then take photo of the dishes making everyone has to wait.. haha!!!
ReplyDeleteeat also have to be super :si mun: is it?
Deletegood lah the dinner started promptly.. I really hate having to wait for so long whenever I go for wedding dinner leh.. those late comers are sure very despicable lah, the whole hall of hundreds of people waiting for them few.. no excuse la, you are not in this city for just a few days, you know the way and you know the traffic, if jam then please leave your place earlier lah..

DeleteYeah don't play play, some of these small town dinners are really good food. Prices probably very reasonable too.
ReplyDeleteya..not like in the city cost an arm and leg.....but see the ingredients in the food...per table should be very pricey lo
DeleteProbably value for money though? As in very 'worth-it' price? Dunno coz never had to pay for this kinda dinner, only give angpow.
DeleteThese kind of dishes per table would be quite costly
DeleteI like this type of dinner... not so commercialized and the food are always tasty too! Big portions too.. and different from the town restaurants.. I like the second pic.. Small K. is so cute!!
ReplyDeleteTrue what you said. Portion very generous
DeleteYou are right, those small town wedding dinners are very punctual one. One time I was invited and the card said 6pm but me and my partner dilly dally (I mean where got people start at 6pm. So used to KL style) and when we got there at 7pm hah..hah...the makan was already almost finish. So only managed 2 dishes only. Padan muka.
ReplyDeletehahaha...ya if KL time..., invite state 7pm...you arrived 8pm, most likely dinner havent even start yet
DeleteWow, can have fireworks for a wedding! Not possible in Singapore. haha.... food looks yummy. I attended a few kampung weddings in Pontian years ago. Now that my cousins have all moved to the city, maybe no more kampung weddings for me.
