Reasonably Priced Adeniums Found At Taman Eng Ann Morning Market, Klang

Recently, Mamarazzi got to know a friend (Mr Low) through Bukit Jelutong Plant Exchange. He is an avid adenium lover.

He told Mamarazzi that he got his adeniums very cheaply from morning market at Taman Eng Ann Klang . And oh boy...the photos he posted in his FB ...wow... so beautiful . But sorry ya, Mamarazzi not posting it here without his permission.

Anyway, last weekend we went there to have a look.

 According to Mr Low, people come to buy adenium as early as 5.40am. If not mistaken, this stall opens from Sunday to Friday. Saturday, the boss will go to the nurseries and source adenium plants.

Hence, people would come very early on Sunday to choose adeniums  with beautiful roots/caudex. Yes, adenium is not only prized for their flowers but also the caudex and roots. The more complicated , the pricier it is.

 What's the price range? Well, according to Mr Low who is a regular there...those on the table are premiums ones and  cost around RM25 to RM30 a pot. Still it's much cheaper than some nurseries that Mamarazzi went to.

 See! So beautiful .

 Those on the floors are priced between RM8 to RM18.  If not mistaken the RM8 to RM10 are not grafted. No tag and colors unknown. Sometimes you will get surprising colors . Just like Mr Low who got a pot for RM6 which turn out to be multipetals yellow blooms.

The grafted ones are between RM16 to RM18 depending on the type. Sometimes they grafted two types of flowers in one plant.

 The one the boss was pointing to was RM25 only and it's multi petal bloom. Mamarazzi was "late" that morning. Those blooming with flowers were grabbed up by the early birds.

However, Mr Low was there. He helped Mamarazzi choose a few. The trick learnt from Mr Low is that to choose the ones that you think you want and put one side first or else it would be grabbed by other. After that, can bargain with the boss for a lower price.

Now Mamarazzi is looking forward to the blooms. To seed what surprise is install.

After "borong-ing" the adeniums, we went to nearby BKT restaurant for breakfast. The famous Restaurant Mo Sang Kor. Didn't eat much coz not really suit our taste buds.

Speaking of buds... it seems like my "big" tooth "buds" is coming up. Back gums are swollen and painful .

Feeling feverish and coughing too. Hope it will be okay soon. 

Oh ya...the location of the adenium stall is right in front of Pasar Persendirian Eng Ann Enterprise, Lorong Kasawari 4, Taman Eng Ann, Klang. It's operated by an old man. 

A Successful 3rd Bukit Jelutong Plant Exchange

Still remember Mamarazzi blogged about the Plant Exchange activity? She was busy labeling the plants to bring to the exchange last week. Not an easy task.

That morning she loaded all the plants into the car. She also cut some of the aloe vera from her garden to be distributed out to the visitors there so that they can bring home to cook or for facial.

And guess what...poor me...I had to sit next to the stinky Aloe Vera cutting.  Yeah...the aloe had a very stinky smell .

These are a portion of the plants that were up for adoption. 

 The President of Bukit Jelutong Green Ranger, Datin Sivam giving a short speech to officiate the Plant exchange . 

 Followed by Ms Angie Yim giving talk on Vermicompost. Wah.... amazing leh. The little worms likes Pizza ah......I mean pizza box ah... Like that I can eat the pizza and they can have the box la. Win-Win.  Listening to the talk , Papa also keen to try out Vermicompost.

At 10.45am, the plants adoption started. In no time, all the plants were adopted. The adoption drive ended around 11.30am  due to overwhelming response .

Mamarazzi was so happy that all her babies were adopted.

 During this plant exchange, Mamarazzi managed to adopt Water Hyacinth for her Water Lily Pond Pot.

 This basil pretty strange. It have a spicy scent. Labelled as White basil but Papa google and couldn't find it.

 Papa was very "guai". He only adopted a Plumeria. 

Haiz...the sad thing was.... Mamarazzi forgotten to bring her Dwarf Papaya babies to the plant exchange. But nevermind... a friend  is going to adopt all of them for his donation drive. Yipee!...hopefully they will find good homes. 

A member of the gardening group, Aking, had donated one big bucket of rabbit poo for her garden. So generous of him.

Wah....seeing the announcement, Mamarazzi was like in 7th Heaven. She started to prepared plants for to bring to the Plant Exchange to be adopted a month ago. 

Last Plant Exchange we brought boxes full of plants to be adopted and super happy that they were snapped up in no time at all. Hopefully this round will be the same.

The rules are simple. ...

Bring a plant (or some plants) to the exchange. Make sure to label the ID of the plant. Drop the plant(s) at the exchange. And adopt a plant or two home.

Don't be shy if you do not have plants to be adopted/give out. Just come and bring one or two home. It's not compulsory to bring a plant for exchange but if you have, of course it is most welcomed.

This is also good for beginners who wanted to try gardening but unsure on how to go about it. Rather than going to the nurseries and fork out an unknown sum for a pot of plant . You can adopt a starter plant from the Bukit Jelutong Plant Exchange at no cost at all. The people at the plant exchange are very friendly and helpful.
