Ah BengLooking For Ah Hua, Ah Mamarazzi Looking for Ah Lian

Continued from yesterday's post. Went to the morning market to buy some kuih-muih but Mamarazzi spotted these fruits instead.

Who can guess what fruit is this? Not the rambutan.  But the other  fruit.

After getting the fruits and kuih, we went one round.  Papa spotted this house/shop selling buns.

Bought a few packets of these buns for breakfast and as "hand letters". Very soft and fluffy.

Thought wanna ride my Vespa go bring buns to see Ah Hua geh...but mana tau...

Tarak  petrol  wor.

No petrol...abandon project la.

Mamarazzi  pulak was looking for Ah Lian..lulian (durian)  but all the way along Kijal no durian pulak. Not season yet over there thought durians are aplenty in KL. Durian Kijal very sedap one leh.

Instead, she found this  giant lulian in Kemaman.  Who can guess what is this use for?

The Luxurious and Friendly Casa Del Rio, Malacca

Do you still remember the prize we won from Shirley's Luxury Haven blog last year? It was a 2D1N stay plus breakfast for two at Casa Del Rio, Melaka.

Haven't got the chance to utilised the voucher last year. It was going to expire this month end. Fortunately, the reservation process was very easy and pleasant thanks to Miss Suraya of Casa Del Rio, Melaka.

That was the reason we went to Malacca.

Gosh! there are so many wonderful review about this hotel and Mamarazzi can say that after staying here, the reviews are all true. It was super-duper nice, clean and friendly. No wonder someones handphone dropped into the toilet here also don't feel "geli" to pick it up again.

 When we arrived, we were rather surprised to find there is no "big" check-in counters. Just two modest desks. 

At the mention of the word "check-in", the lady at the desk immediately led us to the Cabana for our Welcome drinks. We were very surprised as in other hotel, the welcome drinks would only be served after they took our particulars.

  

I thought it's the swimming pool but it's not. Gosh...so cooling.

In a short moment, this pretty lady came with a tray. Passed us a cool towel each. Then scope Ginger and Lime Sorbets for us.

Wow.....So pretty. "Welcome Home, Chung Kathy" the sign says.

While enjoyed our refreshing sorbet, the Lady took Papa and Mamarazzi's particulars to process. Just as we finished our drink, she came back and lead us to our room.

During the "journey", she took the time to show/informed us about the place to dine, the infinity swimming pool, bar, gym , SPA and stuffs like that.

Arriving our room, she showed us the things they have there.

There was a Welcome note on the table and found this Onde-Onde with a short note "Onde-onde, The tradisional welcome of a "Peranakan" delicacy made with rice flour and a centre of liquid Palm Sugar Coated with fresh desiccated coconut."

Milk....Muhahaha...This one would be MINE!

Real thick mattress and super comfy.

 

Lovely balcony overlooking the cooling Courtyard. Great place to sit down to read a book or play some games.

Also good for a romantic candlelight dinner...

Work desk for those who needs one. Complete with WiFi and stuffs like that

Found this book on the shelf. Mamarazzi read it before. Good book to read about "Peranakan" .

Mamarazzi found little things like these makes the stay more comfortable and warm. It's like they want guests to know more about the history of the place and feel at home. At least, guests especially foreign ones would know more about Malaysian culture.

Also found a sort of diary liked book on the shelf where various staffs from the hotel wrote about their experience there and suggested a few places where the guests could visit in Malacca. They also encouraged Guests to pen down their experience in the book as a guide to other Guests. But Mamarazzi didn't write anything there.

 

Mmm...instead of coffee and tea in sachets, they provide it in jars and even have a teapot to brew the Tea and Coffee.

Don't you just love the real thing instead of those that comes in sachets?

Found this "Buku 555" on the night table with a sweet informative note.

It impressed Mamarazzi much. Not only hotel is a place to spend the night but it also dispensing information and educate the new generation.

But what I like is the spacious Bathroom.

I had a wonderful time exploring.

Running in and out ...here and there.

The toiletries. Lotion, shampoo and conditioner came in jars.

Even have bath Salt and Hand Made Cinnamon Soap.

You know what? They even have a yellow Rubber Duckie for me!

There is a saying that goes like this "The way to a man heart is through his tummy". But in this case, "The way to a mother's heart is through her children". The Rubber Duckie crunch the deal for Mamarazzi. Yup...she love this place.

Here Rubber duckie!!! Come "swim" with me.

Wow...it's like am having a BIG swimming pool in the room for myself.

Time for a comfy nap with my stinky Lamb Lamb before visiting the infinity swimming pool. I wonder how it look like. ...to infinity and beyond......Well, I did say that this trip I "swim" a lot.

Morning Walk At Jonker Street and The Flea Market

After breakfast, we went to jonker Street for a walk. Uiks....they have Flea market during the weekend wor.

  The cars caught my eyes but Mamarazzi said see only,  cannot touch coz it's fragile.

  Mamarazzi said long time never saw this "tikam" thingy.

 A lot of Tembaga (Brass) thingy here. Papa say got brass kettle and asked the man got brass wok/kuali or not. Uncle Arthur looking for brass wok. The man said don't have. Even the brass Kettle cost RM300! Of course....it was hand made and no other material was added when they make it. Unlike the Brass nowadays which mostly "polluted" by other tin/ore.

Being the new generation, I was very puzzled by this "device". How come their "CD" so BIG? Where is their computer? Just put the small "CD" into the computer lah...

Before going off from Jonker Street, we stopped by this stall and bought some Nyonya Kuih from this man.

Didn't get much of anything from Jonker street . Just two pairs of chopsticks with our surname. The third paor got it from the night market. RM4 a pair. Can buy 3 items for RM10.

Then Mamarazzi went to Bibik House and "borong" four containers of Pineapple tarts. Her favourite. Hmmm...if not mistaken price had increased to RM14 for 20 pieces.

But it's worth it for Mamarazzi as she said the taste not too sweet and they are generous with the fillings.

 

Moreover, She love the textures of the filing which is not too mashed up. Yummm.....by now two containers of the tarts have gone into Mamarazzi's tummy lor

What Happen to My Birdie?

The next morning I woke up early. The night before I kept reminding Mamarazzi to set alarm coz I wanted to go to the pool to look for the boy for morning swim.

 

 Mamarazzi woke me up early.

I went to the balcony to check is it morning yet. Yup! It's morning .

View from the balcony...a stone throw away from the hotel is the Dataran Pahlawan and Mahkota Parade.

 Brrrrrrr...the water is very coooooolllllddd

Alamak! what happen to my birdie? It's full of water liaoooooo....

 Must be too cold. Never mind...sun is up.

 Went exploring to the other side of the pool

Waited so long to the boy to come but he didn't appear. Haiz.....even play hide and seek under the coconut tree leh....can see my botak head or not?

Water Kucing at Equatorial Hotel, Malacca

Yup...this round there is a lot of "water" post. Looking forward to play water. 

Well, after lunch we walk-in to Equatorial Hotel. Ddn;t made any reservation as it was a spontaneous trip. Despite being a weekend, they still have rooms available. Probably coz it's no longer peak period.

After Check-in, went into the room and took bath. Mamarazzi asked me to sleep awhile but I was too excited. I wanted  to go "swimming". I know where the Swimming pool is. It's one the 4th floor. I asked the staff when Papa was busy check-in in.

Well, I won in the end. Mamarazzi brought me to the swimming pool.

Brrrr......water was cold...but I love it. The swimming pool area was very large and scenic. Even have coconut tree. Anay and Letchumi can dance under them.

Found a new "friend", Rashid. But too soo his Papa said have to go off liao. Go makan. Mamarazzi also said go off liao coz the sun is setting.

 Before that, have to mandi mandi first.

 In the Lift I kept asking Mamarazzi where rashid go. I wanna follow also.

 Back in the room I was famished. 

Ate Mamee snack while waiting to go off for dinner.
