Reasonably Priced Adeniums Found At Taman Eng Ann Morning Market, Klang

Recently, Mamarazzi got to know a friend (Mr Low) through Bukit Jelutong Plant Exchange. He is an avid adenium lover.

He told Mamarazzi that he got his adeniums very cheaply from morning market at Taman Eng Ann Klang . And oh boy...the photos he posted in his FB ...wow... so beautiful . But sorry ya, Mamarazzi not posting it here without his permission.

Anyway, last weekend we went there to have a look.

According to Mr Low, people come to buy adenium as early as 5.40am. If not mistaken, this stall opens from Sunday to Friday. Saturday, the boss will go to the nurseries and source adenium plants.

Hence, people would come very early on Sunday to choose adeniums  with beautiful roots/caudex. Yes, adenium is not only prized for their flowers but also the caudex and roots. The more complicated , the pricier it is.

What's the price range? Well, according to Mr Low who is a regular there...those on the table are premiums ones and  cost around RM25 to RM30 a pot. Still it's much cheaper than some nurseries that Mamarazzi went to.

 See! So beautiful .

Those on the floors are priced between RM8 to RM18.  If not mistaken the RM8 to RM10 are not grafted. No tag and colors unknown. Sometimes you will get surprising colors . Just like Mr Low who got a pot for RM6 which turn out to be multipetals yellow blooms.

The grafted ones are between RM16 to RM18 depending on the type. Sometimes they grafted two types of flowers in one plant.

The one the boss was pointing to was RM25 only and it's multi petal bloom. Mamarazzi was "late" that morning. Those blooming with flowers were grabbed up by the early birds.

However, Mr Low was there. He helped Mamarazzi choose a few. The trick learnt from Mr Low is that to choose the ones that you think you want and put one side first or else it would be grabbed by other. After that, can bargain with the boss for a lower price.

Now Mamarazzi is looking forward to the blooms. To seed what surprise is install.

After "borong-ing" the adeniums, we went to nearby BKT restaurant for breakfast. The famous Restaurant Mo Sang Kor. Didn't eat much coz not really suit our taste buds.

Speaking of buds... it seems like my "big" tooth "buds" is coming up. Back gums are swollen and painful .

Feeling feverish and coughing too. Hope it will be okay soon.

Oh ya...the location of the adenium stall is right in front of Pasar Persendirian Eng Ann Enterprise, Lorong Kasawari 4, Taman Eng Ann, Klang. It's operated by an old man.

Ah Sang Bak-Kut-Teh at Sungei Way(Non-halal)

Mamarazzi had read many blogs that praise this Ah Sang Bak-Kut-Teh but only recently did we managed to "venture" to that area to find the shop.

Went there on a Saturday afternoon. Hmmm....quite lucky as we were the last customers of the day. Nothing much left. No intestine or stomach anymore.

If want, then have to come earlier.

Piping hot bowl of BKT! ...errrr.....why put "Sawi"? Kinda weird for Mamaraazzi as she had grown accoustome to BKT cames with "Yau Mak" vegetable instead of Sawi.

But the soup was really "thick" in taste. We sure like it very much. Love the "thick" herbal taste.

I think Auntie CC will love this.

Also ordered Vinegar Pork Trotter pot, portion for a single person. Mamarazzi was surprised at the big portion that they gave. Really a lot of meat there!

But still she preferred the ones at Ka Ka BKT in Kepong as they add dried Chili whereas Papa was okay with this version.

Here is the address of Ah Sang BKT if you would like to try out :

No.531, Jalan SS9A/12
Seri Setia, Sungei Way

It's right behind an Indian temple

Yu Kee Bak Kut Teh, Subang Jaya

Yesterday, Uncle Arthur commented "No food?" . Well, here is a food post  that Mamarazzi is sure Uncle Arthur would love.

Very long time have not been here for quite some time.

Mamarazzi felt like eating "porky" the other day. Kepong is too far and we were rather hungry at that time. Hence,  Papa drove to Subang Jaya and had Yu Kee BKT lo.

Foreign worker took our order. A bit "Chicken and duck talk" coz Mamarazzi was not sure in what language to talk to the boy.

Usually we would order a "Mixed BKT" for one person and then an extra bowl of intestine and stomach. Since the foreign worker does not understand, Mamarazzi "hentam" and ordered a "Mixed BKT" for one person and the innards for one person.

 STop.....Take photos first! Anakrazzi LOL.

The BKT with yummy intestine(RM10). Mamarazzi and Papa liked but I don't like.

I like the soup and the "deep fried ghost"(Chinese Crullers)

Vinegar Pork Trotters(RM10). Used to be Mamarazzi's favourite but now she had tasted the Kepong ones, she preferred that.

Anyway, this one is good enough for those who does not like spicy pork trotters.

And the best way to eat BKT...well....with my shoes off lo....

Here is the address of the restaurant again

Uncle Jerry Bak Kut Teh, Kepung Baru

Mamarazzi saw Choi Yen's blog on "Lamb-Kut-Teh" at Uncle Jerry BKT shop.

Hence we went searching for it. Not really searching for the Lamb-Kut-Teh la but rather BKT.

It was rather hard to find coz we were not familiar with that area. Thank god for GPS.

Finally arrived at the destination. Get a chair for myself first.
Time to order.
Didn't order LKT. We had BKT. Portion for 1 person. Generous heaping of meat. Wish the soup could be a bit more thicker.

The Boss very clever. Give us additional bowl of soup. We asked for additional Taufu and Yau Char Gwai.

 They have "oil rice".

Nice.

Mamarazzi had the Vinegar Pork Knuckle. Sedap.

Surprised to find a piece of Tauhu and a hard boiled egg in the dish.

Had yau choy but it was a bit too oily for our taste. Some people would like it coz got a lot of fried garlic.

Overall, satisfied with the food. Would go back for the Vinegar Pork Knuckle. Yummm.....

Here is the address of the place, copied from Choi Yen's Blog.

Cheong Kim Chuan Bak-Kut-Teh Spices

Bought this packet of BKT spices from Penang

The spices after took out from the packet

This round Mamarazzi BKT enough ingredient.

Got Tau Pok, Mushrooms and meat.

Taste? Hmm...duno why Papa said the thing smell like Curry when Mamarazzi was cooking it. Maybe neighbour cooking curry kot?

Again, Mamarazzi put too much water. Taste okay la.

It's better than some other brands that Mamarazzi tried before. This Cheong Kim Chuan and Tean Ean brand are one of those which Mamarazzi likes. But between the two, she liked Tean Ean brand best.

Cham....again..Mamarazzi put ubat tidur in the soup ah?

The greens that goes with the BKT. Unfortunately this plate of greens went into the tong sampah.

Tean Ean Bak Kut Teh Spices

On our last trip to Penang, Mamarazzi bought some Tean Ean Bak Kut Teh Spices. There are 6 small packets of spices in a box.

According to the instruction, Mamarrazi need to put the spices in with 3 litre of water, 3 cloves of garlic and boil it for half an hour.

Then put in 1 kati(600gm) of  meat(normally pork or chicken). Boil for another 30 minutes.

 Hah? Me again? Why me?

Mmm..looks safe enough.

Mamarazzi added some Button Mushrooms and pork intestine too. Too bad don't have Tofu Pok .

A bit of Yau Mak( Romaine Lettuce) to go with the BKT. Easy peesy. Just fry some chopped garlic.

Cut and wash the lettuce with detergent. Must be very soapy else the dirt won't come out.

Nah..just testing you...wash the lettuce with wash with clean water. Not detergent.
Pour hot water over the lettuce.Take out the vege immediately and pour away the excess water.

Spoon some of of fried garlic with the oil onto the lettuce and add soya sauce. Then it's ready to eat.

Let me try the BKT first. I love eating the "Luk Chok"

Mmmm...

AAaaaahhhh....

Eeeehhhhh...

Taste good enough lah. Yum yum.

Mamarazzi preferred it to be a bit thicker. Next time must put less water to boil. Papa said it tasted just find as it is.

No photo! No photo! Ate Oink Oink already, I wanna be "oink oink". Good night.

Here is the address of the shop if you wish to purchase the Tean Ean BKT spices Tean Ean Local Product(M) Sdn Bhd, No 90 Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah, 10050 Penang, Malaysia.

Hawker Food Near Hotel Sunway Georgetown, Penang

That night we had dinner nearby Hotel Sunway at Georgetown.

There were a lot of hawkers along the road. You can sit in any Coffee shop and the hawkers will bring the food that you ordered to that shop.

Cannot bring in drinks from outside else will be charge RM0-50 per item. Understandable as the restaurant would have to clean up after the customers. Hire maid also need money leh.

Kaw Kaw tapau-ed Ling Chee Kang into the shop to drink. They did not charge her. Probably because we did order drinks from the shop also. The Ling Chee Kang drink was very good.

Poor Mamarazzi. By this time her sore throat was terrible. She can't eat anything and don't feel like eating anything at all. But thanks to her friend Carine who told her there is one terrific duck porridge here, that Mamarazzi had something to eat.

Hmm...the duck porridge was indeed delicious. It was so yummy till Uncle Patrick beh tahan and ordered a bowl for himself. Auntie Florence also can't stand the temptation and she ordered another bowl too. Must try.

Salute Papa. Having high fever also dare to eat fried stuff. He bought these Apong Telur. Taste not bad.

Sotong Kangkung. RM7. Ordinary.

Popiah. Seems nice.

Siput. Uncle Patrick ordered this thinking that it's boiled but was  surprised that it turn out to be spicy one.

Everyone except Mamarazzi had great time making "kissy sound" while having these.

Wow! Really BIG oyster.
Ikan Bakar. Smell nice.

Everyone was busy eating and I got bored. Kept running about. As Mamarazzi was not eating, she brought me to walk around outside.

Saw a stall selling Thong Yuen. She bought two bowls. The one on the left have Ginger Soup. Auntie Florence love it. The one on the right was Osmanthus Flower Soup .

While we were away, the rest of the gang ordered some other food too like Chee Cheong Fun, CKT and etc.

It's safe to say here the food around this place were not too bad. There are some hits and there are some missed.

We saw there is another shop selling Penang products. Hun Ming Trading at New Lane. Mamarazzi went in. Again she saw Cheong Kim Chuan BKT spices being sold here.

Haiz..it's as if it's tempting Mamarazzi to buy. Mamarazzi end up getting two packets of Bak-Kut-Teh spices from the shop
and three rolls of Chicken Floss Tambun Biscuits.

Then we called it a night.
