Pasar Malam at Sibu (Non-Halal)

Auntie Claire and Mamarazzi had mentioned many times that they wish to pay a visit to Sibu Pasar Malam(Night Market). But too bad they didn't get the chance to go due to various reason.

That evening as we were heading back to the hotel, Papa passed by the Pasar Malam. Stalls were just opening. That was around 6pm.

Papa asked Mamarazzi whether she wanna go and have a walk. Of course la she jump and grabbed the offer. Me too wanna follow. Papa wait in the car.

Wow......even have signboard stating it's the Night Market place.

Hmmm....things sold there seems pretty normal to Mamarazzi. More or less the same like those Night Markets in KL.

Pretty normal ...that is until she saw 3 stalls selling these at the Night Market.

Sorry for the blur photos as it was taken using Mamarazzi's handphone camera. 

For your information, these are Roasted Pig Heads. It is very unusual find Roasted Pig Head being sold in Night Markets. So far she haven't seen any of it being sold in KL Night Markets.

No wonder Uncle Arthur warned Mamarazzi not to be surprised if she sees Pig Heads in the Night Market

One Roasted Pig Head cost around RM16 to RM20. 

They also sell half portion. Mamarazzi bought half. 

Then she saw these delicious Grilled Pork Belly Meat. Can't helped herself. Bought one piece for RM12. That was very cheap in view that piece was quite big.

Gosh! There were some pretty delicious looking Roast Pork.

See! People are just grabbing for these delicious Roast Pork!

Some Pigs trotter.

And some stewed internal organs of pigs. Too bad she can't try it all.

But one thing she certainly would not like to try is these...Fried Chicken Head.

Apart from that she managed to grab two pieces of Batik Cloth which is cheaper than those being sold at the Heritage Centre. These cost around RM15 a piece only. Certainly the price can go lower if she had the time to bargain.

Yup...it was time to go to the airport. We had a nice time in Sibu. 

Thank you very much Uncle Arthur for everything and hope to see everyone(Auntie Claire, Auntie Quay Po Cooks, Uncle Arthur and Mommy Ling) again soon. Where shall we go next?.

After They Fly Off

*Sigh* It was the final day at Sibu. Auntie Claire, Kor Kor Andy and the pretty Jie Jie fly home lu....

But hor...when we arrived at the airport....saw this sign...No waiting, check-in, toilet. Hmmm........not check in for boarding the plane meh?

Where to go ah? No more gang liao...so quiet...Near lunch time already.

Mamarazzi said before going back, she HAD to makan one more round her favourite food in Sibu. Can you guess what?

Need I say more?

Saw the Boss sorting some fried Peanuts. I managed to bodek the Boss to let me have some. The Boss really clever wor coz he went and asked Papa and Mamarazzi whether can give some to me. Must be worried that I might be allergic to peanuts.

The other day SK commented Mamarazzi did not post up much photos of this Payung Cafe. 

Well, here are some of them. Told you that Mamarazzi not good at snapping photos of decoration lah.

After having a heavy lunch we went back to the hotel for a rest. The hotel let us check out late at 3pm. Cham lah...our flight was night time. Where to hang out ah?

Papa drove us round Sibu Town. All the time..he was thinking of the Sago Worms. How to "export" some back to KL??

Then Mamarazzi thought of the plastic container that Uncle Arthur pass to us when he pass us the Quinine Mango. Hmmm...can put the worms in there wor. Poke a few holes...them should be okay gua.

 

We head on to the Market.

 

 Bought RM20 of the worms and put into the plastic container and big box. Surprisingly, most of the worms survived to KL.

However, the Midin that Mamarazzi bought did not survive.

While at the market, Mamarazzi spotted these toys. Bought it for me. I had a nice surprise when I woke up from my nap in the car.

Despite the shopping, there was ample time left. Papa was feeling rather sleepy. Hence, he drove to Sg Merah to have Kopi-o there.

I was hungry. Hmm...don't know why I kept wanna eat when I was in Sibu. Papa got me some Kolo Mee. Taste not bad la. Finished the whole bowl.

It was at Sg Merah that Mamarazzi's camera ran out of battery. Had to depend on phone camera.

While digging in the car, Mamarazzi noticed the "breakfast" that we missed. That morning, Uncle Arthur bought a lot of Kuih Muih for us.

Got Roti Telur. Surprisingly it was still crunchy a bit.

If not mistaken, this one is called Kuih Peria. Taste of Gula Melaka. Very nice. Not too sweet.

There were some Curry Puff which gone into Papa's tummy before Mamarazzi thought of snapping photos

 

Bought some of these oranges from the fruit stall nearby coffee shop. Super sweet.

Then it was time to head back to the hotel where Mr Bala from the car rental company would be picking us up and send us to the airport.

An Evening at Uncle Arthur's Home

That evening, we arrived at Uncle Arthur's place and practically "let the worms out of the bag" . Auntie Lucy had graciously help us to clean and cook the Sago Worms although she does not eat it.

1..2..3..4..5......11...uiks??? There should be 16 Sago Worms in the bag wor...5 is missing...sigh...must be some where in the car. These buggers had very strong teeth. They managed to bite through two layers of plastic bags.

 This one was still alive but not sure why is it gray in color. Dying?

 Jeng! Jeng! who dares to be the first one to eat these?! Can you guess? 

Nearly everyone had a taste except from Mamarazzi and me.

After having the "appertiser", it was time for a group photo.

 

Our 8(+1) Course meal ready for consumption.

 Makan time! Super yummy Masak Hitam. Mamarazzi's favourite.

Mmm....Uncle Arthur still remembered that we wanted to try out the Umai. Very delicious and appetising. A bit spicy, a bit sour and a bit sweet. Hard to describe the tastes.

Aiks...when sorting out the photos, Mamarazzi baru noticed that she didn't get to taste the brinjal dish that evening...why ah?

Mmm....must be too many dish to choose from. Inclusive of the Sago Worms, we had like a 9 course dinner leh!

Fried noodles. Uncle Arthur purposely did not put chili in it so that I can eat but too bad I was pretty hyper at that time. Didn't eat much but from the look of how everyone were gobbling it up, you can be sure that it's delicious.

Uncle Arthur even shared with us the Vegetarian Oink Oink intestine made by Auntie Veron's Mom.

Tapioca leaves with pumpkin fried with belacan, ikan bilis and ginger. Yummy...a very nice mix. Mamarazzi gonna try to cook this.

Saving the best for last....Big Heads Prawns with Soup. Uncle Arthur woke up very early to go Pasar in order for us to have these Prawns leh. Then rush back home to prepare it

 At the end of the meal, Uncle Arthur even brought out his "treasure" from the treasure chest.

 It's Tuak (traditional Dayak rice wine)

 After having a sip or two of the Tuak, Mamarazzi was game enough to try the Deep Fried Sago Worms.

Taste? MMm....she taste like peanut wor.

 I also wanna have a sip la...mmmm...taste sweet.

 Had these after our dinner.

Skin were green and thin like Mandarin Oranges

 Surprisingly, it taste super sweet. Even sweeter than the normal Mandarin Oranges. Thumbs up!
