Colorful Memories with Greeco Venture

Do you know why she choose the word "Mamarazzi"? It's because the word "Papparazzi ", for her,  imply something bad very bad after the Princess Diana incident. And she plans to snap plenty photos of me during my growing up years, hence she sort of invented the word "Mamarazzi"

 

True to her word, she did snapped many picture of me. Even when I was doing "business" she also went and snap. Each year she would send the said photos out print out a hard copy coz Mamarazzi is very traditional. She preferred printed copy instead of soft copy. The same goes for her books.

Anyway, it's nearly the end of year again. Last Friday, she was hunting online to find some photo company that can give her good offer. This was how she  stumbled upon GREECO VENTURE .

Greeco Venture is a photo company that offer convenience in photo printing with promise of good quality of photos printing. Sounds good to Mamarazzi so far as she wants GOOD quality photo as these photo will be store for years to come.

 

And she was hinting that she will show some of my childhood photos to my future "girlfriends" *horrors*.

And of all the horrors, is that I heard from Mamarazzi that this company uses FujiColor Crystal Achieve Photographic Paper. Gosh! such technology should be able to product good quality photos and maybe they will lasts forever. I had better start planning to sabotage some of those photos before Mamarazzi store them up to show my girlfriends.

But on thing that puzzled Mamarazzi is that the company offer 4R and 4D photo printing. What is that 4D can win numbers one?

She e-mailed to the company and within 12 hours she received their reply. *this gives Mamarazzi good vibes about the company as they reply her fast*

 

They send her an attachment. Here is briefly what the attachment highlighted

When we leave our photo to be printed 4R size, the image would most likely be cropped or have white borders except for some DSLR camera or those camera with setting already set by the user.

Briefly, 4R size is 4x6 inch while 4D size is 4.5 x 6 inch. Have you encountered when you send your photo out to be developed, some of your photo may have the head and legs "chopped off" or have white borders?

Well, this happens as most compact camera takes photos with ration 4 : 3. If you choose to print under 4R, 4x6(a ratio of 2:3). The grey area as in the above photo would not be printed.

 That's why we have headless and feet less photos.

 If you choose to have the whole image to be printed, it would result in white borders as above.

As for a 4D photo, it address some of the above problems.

In the old days, people uses film camera(some still use it today) and the setting for the camera is 4R size and hence no problenm when you print in 4R size.

But many are using digital camera nowadays. The camera setting have been changed but the photo print shop does not update their print size. This resulted in cropping of photos and the white borders.

This is where 4D size comes in. It addressed some of the problem...except where the user had changes the setting in their camera.

For example, it is unable to address the abnormal size photos like panorama setting. For that you have to consult the photo company.

Mamarazzi tried her hands on the online photo printing option. It was quite easy with the step-to-step guide on Photo Upload Option . Photo Printing Software Manual furthers helps her on how to use the software.

 

What she loves the most is that she have the option to edit the photos even after uploading the photos. She can crop the photo and re size the photos before sending them out. At least my head won't be chop off.

 Mind you, all photos will be cropped. The setting is centralised like the above.

But Mamarazzi can choose to crop it with more of my body showing when she drag the "box" downwards.

Or if she wants the whole photo as it is she can select white borders.

 

If she is still not satisfied or maybe changed her mind on printing the photo, there is a REMOVE button for her to remove it.

And if the quality of the photo is too poor, the remove button will become red to tell you waste of time and money printing that lah  remove the said image.

The software offers two of options. Either online or offline.

If Offline, option is useful when you do not have Internet connection and wish to sort out your photos. Then you can place the photos in a zipped files. Make sure the zip files are saved into pen drive/hard disk/CD, then bring it to their Penang store it for printing. You may also courier to them but must include all the original files together with the zip files, in the case the zip files corrupted during the zip process.

However, Mamarazzi selected Online mode and it would be helpful if your Internet connection is a fast one.  It was a breeze. Pretty soon it comes to delivery option screen. User can choose to have the photos delivered to their door step or they can pick up at their store in Penang.

Then comes the payment option. Currently they accept payment via credit cards or Maybank2U.

Currently they are having a promotion. For 4R photos, they are charging RM0.29 only . It's so COOL.

Year 2011 Round Up - May to August

This week round up is for month May to August

MAY

Mamarazzi gone crazy experiment various dishes.

 

She made some "Water Dogs"(Dumplings) 

Some prawns

 

I love the most is Crab Fried Bihun

 We also went food hunting to Bidor.

Met up with Auntie Claire again in Ipoh. It was so nice of her to come out to show us around Ipoh. You see, her son was home for a short vacation and yet she made time to meet up with us.

My "accomplishment" for the month was to add another "birthmark" to my arm.

We also had great time with Auntie Chee Yee and Auntie Little Bird at Lake Titiwangsa, Kuala Lumpur. 

Auntie Little Bird gave me some carrots to feed the horsey. Later on, Papa bought tickets for me to ride the horsey.

After that we had picnic at the park. What a wonderful day that was.

JUNE

 

June starts with the Rice Dumpling Festival. Mamarazzi nearly forgotten about this festival until Papa reminded her of it.

Then comes the rush of making Rice Dumplings.

It's also the month where my Kaw Kaw came back from NZ.

 

It was to surprise Ah Kong for his 75th Birthday.

Before that we "detoured" to Ipoh and Penang for a makan-makan trip.

JULY

It's Durian Season

 We had so many round of durian feast.

Papa's colleagues came over and we went for durian feast.

Then Auntie Little Bird also affected by our Durian fever and we went for Durian Feast again.

 

Attended my first Bon Odori Festival at Shah Alam. 

During the weekend, we brought Papa's colleagues up Genting Highland. First time going to the Strawberry Park there.

I love Genting Highland. It's so cool, cold and fun. 

Old Mamarazzi said her old bones nearly cracked to a million pieces from chasing me around. Hmm...she should exercise more.

AUGUST

Coming to the month of August, I was a bit unwell. Maybe from all the zooming around in July had taken a toll on me. But I recovered pretty fast.

August was an exciting month for Mamarazzi for the Big Bad Wolf announced that they will be having their sale in October. 

There was a lot of excitement in trying to secure a Preview Pass to the event.

Mooncakes Festival/Mid-Autumn Festival was around the corner. This year was Mamarazzi's first time attempt to make Mooncakes. We don't have a Baking Oven. She decided to make Snow Skin Mooncakes instead

I also "helped" her. Snow Skin Mooncakes is so easy to make!

It was a pretty lucky month for me to for I won 3 contest on the same day! 

Good things comes in threes? If that is the case, there is a slight regret. I should have bought a lottery ticket. Maybe I would have won a lottery. 

We ended the month with a joyous celebration. It was Merdeka-Raya Celebration. 30th was Hari Raya Puasa celebration for Muslim in Malaysia while August 31st August is our country Independence Day.

We had a Buffet at DoubleTree Hilton, Kuala Lumpur. Nice food and good company to enjoy it with. What more can I ask?

Cheong Kim Chuan Bak-Kut-Teh Spices

 Got Tau Pok, Mushrooms and meat.

Taste? Hmm...duno why Papa said the thing smell like Curry when Mamarazzi was cooking it. Maybe neighbour cooking curry kot? 

Again, Mamarazzi put too much water. Taste okay la. 

It's better than some other brands that Mamarazzi tried before. This Cheong Kim Chuan and Tean Ean brand are one of those which Mamarazzi likes. But between the two, she liked Tean Ean brand best. 

 Cham....again..Mamarazzi put ubat tidur in the soup ah?

The greens that goes with the BKT. Unfortunately this plate of greens went into the tong sampah.

Tean Ean Bak Kut Teh Spices

On our last trip to Penang, Mamarazzi bought some Tean Ean Bak Kut Teh Spices. There are 6 small packets of spices in a box.

According to the instruction, Mamarrazi need to put the spices in with 3 litre of water, 3 cloves of garlic and boil it for half an hour.

Then put in 1 kati(600gm) of  meat(normally pork or chicken). Boil for another 30 minutes.

 Hah? Me again? Why me?

Mmm..looks safe enough. 

Mamarazzi added some Button Mushrooms and pork intestine too. Too bad don't have Tofu Pok .

A bit of Yau Mak( Romaine Lettuce) to go with the BKT. Easy peesy. Just fry some chopped garlic. 

Cut and wash the lettuce with detergent. Must be very soapy else the dirt won't come out.

Nah..just testing you...wash the lettuce with wash with clean water. Not detergent.

Pour hot water over the lettuce.Take out the vege immediately and pour away the excess water. 

Spoon some of of fried garlic with the oil onto the lettuce and add soya sauce. Then it's ready to eat.

Let me try the BKT first. I love eating the "Luk Chok"

Eeeehhhhh...

Taste good enough lah. Yum yum. 

Mamarazzi preferred it to be a bit thicker. Next time must put less water to boil. Papa said it tasted just find as it is.
