Apalagi....operasi menggoreng lor. Fried nearly 15kg of these. Made into Chips.
Now "expert" already lo. Can straight slice it into the wok.
Only "accident" at the very last piece of "ngaku". No worries....just a free manicure. No blood involved.
The Chips were super oily but lucky we kinda "won" a year supplies of New Scott® Calorie Light Premium Towel ....very useful at times like these.
It sure helped to soak up all the excess oil to make these chips healthier to eat.
Managed to get 3 big containers. Brought one container to a friend's new year house party. The rest distributed . Kept a small container for ourselves.
Now we have a very good idea from friend leh. Inside of cooking half dead for house party, they ordered a truck of Lok Lok from Fatman Lok Lok instead.
What is Lok Lok? Explanation from Google " variant of the steamboat/hotpot meal, except that the food served is skewered and the skewered food is dipped into a hot boiling pot of water to be cooked. This is then dipped into a variety of sauces provided for you."
They even have a BBQ section where the truck driver and a helper will grill the lok lok for us.
Gosh....we were spoil ofor choice...so many types to choose from
The price of Lok Lok but since friend ordered a whole truck, it was much cheaper. Not sure how much cheaper la.
Caution about ordering the food truck is that you must make sure you have enough people to eat all the Lok Lok coz there are no refund for the uneaten Lok Lok. It's considered sold.
Plates were provided.
I was really blur one what to choose leh. So many choices. I think what I love the most is the fishballs. I had many sticks of that.
Next time house party, maybe can call this Fatman Lok Lok truck instead la. No need to headache cooking non-stop leh. Mamarazzi can relax and chat with guests instead. With so many choices. There are sure something there for everyone, right?
Papa loves the most is the satay gravy they had there. And I spied Mamarazzi been eating a lot of the BBQ stuffs. Maybe coz they have Roast pork there kot.
hahaha...well done. As for me and my son, we will look forward to my wife's sis in law ngaku in plastic bottles. hehehe....
ReplyDeleteEat is easy but when wannna fry...adui...takes long time
DeleteNgaku chips is my favourite too. The lok lok truck I wonder how much he charges per night.
ReplyDeleteIt depends one how many pax ones order. The charge according to that.
DeleteBut got minimum pax mah. Tak kan order for 10 pax also he will accept.
DeleteGosh, I'm not sure exactly what this is. But I know your Mama can make anything!
ReplyDeleteIt's a type of chips...something like potatoes chips

DeleteWah! A lok lok truck for catering??? Nice idea.
ReplyDeleteLooking at your big containers of ngaku, reminded me to get the tin container for my keropok. But 1st need to dry the keropok 1st. Need to wait for the sun to come out 1st. Sigh! I hate all those frying prior to cny but got to do it somehow. ^^
I love ngaku but cannot eat too many. Sore throat. Lol.
They very pandai biz mind leh. easy for everyone la having a truck of lok lok.
DeleteLOL...yea...CNY have a lot of things to do
I like lok lok!!!! But I prefer to sit down and lok lok my own....boiling water one, not bubbly satay sauce like in Malacca....and the sauce dripping all over the table top, so messy.
ReplyDeleteeach to his own lo. They also have the clear soup type.
DeleteWow, 15kg is quite a lot. Amazing work! That Lok Lok truck looks so yummy. I would also have a hard time to choose... So tempting. Hopefully the frozen shoulder exercises worked out well for you. My husband was able to reduce a lot of pain through it. Only needs a little more on the back now. Have a blessed week.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rosidah :)
Deletehaha come CNY time sure Mamarazzi will be busy frying the "nga goo".. but guess this was just a warm up huh?? didn't see Mamarazzi fried a lot and keep for CNY but distribute them to friends only.. but scary is to see Mamarazzi's "manicure" lah, the heart also almost popped out leh.. next time must be more careful leh~~
ReplyDeletedunno yet...see la when the mood comes maybe will fry some more
Deleteuiks!!! I have seen some friends ordering a luk-luk truck for catering, and I think this idea actually exists for some years already.. last time probably people just order as add-on to catering only, but now the luk-luk is the main thing and the only thing.. actually senang like that leh~~
ReplyDeletehave heard of this but this is the first time we actually have lok lok truck comes to the house lo
Deletenowadays luk-luk quite expensive leh, start from like RM2 a stick and if you wanna make this a meal then can cost you a bomb.. so buy bulk ordering then actually can save a lot.. the luk-luk man does everything and the host has no frills..
ReplyDeleteya wor....very easy to eat till 10 batang leh.
DeleteWith the lok lok man around very easy la. no need to do extra work
usually the luk-luk man will suggest how much to order based on the number of guests right?? and then always buffer more lah I guess, the Chinese always say "more and left is better than less and not enough".. so if cannot finish consuming the order, the luk-luk man will tabao them for the host one right?? and there goes another round at home the next day~~ :p
ReplyDeleteYes, the lok lok man did suggest how much to ordered.
DeleteHahaha...this round friend did not take lo. The Lok Lok man help them to distribute to the foreign workers to eat
RM1.98/kg, that's cheap... The other day, i bought 8 pc, wanting to plant it, 8 pc cost me S$1.30 as it's S$3/kg...
ReplyDeletepromotional price. Now up to RM4/kg liao

You beat me to it. I better shelf my Fatman post till next season! Wakakakakaka
ReplyDeletewhy cannot blog at same time ka?
DeleteI have also been wondering why all the trucks must carry the same "Fatman" brand when they are mostly sole proprietors!
ReplyDeleteFranchise kot? Like the Pak Hailam kopitiam
DeleteHmm don't look like a lot from 15kg of ngaku? Or maybe your containers are really big.
ReplyDeleteOrdering a luk-luk van is definitely fun... but not cheap lor. Apparently the cheapest is a halal version but of course you don't get certain varieties!
includin the skin and the tangkai lo...those already 5-6kg lo after peel
