Yay! Good news. Subang Jaya Book exchange Programme will be holding another storytelling session in conjunction with World Book Day, which is celebrated on April 23 every year.

Storytelling Session will be held on 20th April 2014 , 2pm to 3pm.

The story telling will be by Anne Ooi of Roving Books  Suitable for children aged between 4 and 8. As per their Facebook, all children are welcome but each must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Priority will be given to registered kids. To register, please send an e-mail to sjbookexchange@gmail.com with child's name and age, parent/guardian's name and contact number.

The storytelling session will be followed by a book exchange session that starts from 3-5pm. Book exchange will not begin until storytelling session is over so for those who only intend to exchange books please go over after 3pm.

I still remember the last story telling session by Anne. It was so much fun.

There was a break and we did some exercises.

  4. Hahaha, the last picture so funny la.. J so clever boy la, conduct story telling.. Eh, got 2 audience also considered audiences ma, kan? Even if there is only one audience, the show must go on.. If there is more than 1 people, then the show must continue, agree?

When I was in primary skool, I was always chosen for story telling competitions and events.. No, not becoz my English was good, it was becoz nobody wana be "mangsa" and they faster voted for me whenever there was any English story-telling competitions.. You know, after you did it once, then forever you needed to do it coz they will keep selecting you..

Everytime whenever there is a story telling competition, the teacher will select a few students, and then ask the rest to vote.. Others pandai lor, don't wana become "mangsa" so faster vote me, kesian you know, like kena used only.. But later, things were not that bad, the teachers will not select me coz they said I always kena liao, so it's time for other students to try.. Pheewww !!

  10. oh yeah, Uncle SK remembers this storytelling session!! and yeah, look at the kids, they were so into the story and enjoyed the session so much.. love the way Auntie Anne did the storytelling, with an interim break to get the kids rise and did some exercise.. sitting there for an hour surely affects the blood circulation, so it's great to have a little stretching mid of the session :)

  12. Uncle SK remembers last time while in primary school, we have a 1-hour lunch break (remember Uncle SK studied from 7:30am till 5:30pm??), so some parents would bring lunch for the children and visit them in classes.. there's the mother of a classmates who sometimes would tell us stories during the break, especially on Friday we have 2-hour break, then she would get us to interact rather than just listening, and those picked to interact and responded well will be rewarded with sweets.. ah, nice memories.. :)
