Another basi post....should be the last basi post la......errr....hopefully. Went for School Trip to Farm In The City last December ...oh ya...got one more basi post...farm in the City.....
The Principal cautioned us to bring along umbrella or rain coat coz it was rainy season .
I had fun at the trip...after that teacher brought us to Chocolate factory. I brought home a packet of coconuts rolls for Mamarazzi. I know she like it.
Came home, she was in the mood of HCP pula. pour some turmeric powder and some salt... Again not sure how much so just hentam agak-agak la.
Gave the fish a back rub with the mixture.... left it to marinate awhile . Same goes for the sotong (Squid) Meantime, she went hunting Banana Leave from next door pulak.
Me pulak go take bath.
Put the banana leaf in Happy Call Pan with a bit of oil. In goes the fish. Close and cook and peep cook and peep cook and peep....errr coz not sure takes how lont to cook mah. Then have to flip the pan leh.
She did not HCP the squid. Just deep fried them in the wok.
Overall? sedap lor.....Saved at least RM30 leh. If eat outside, this would cost a lot leh.
So finally I find out what Sotong is!! Is squid like a tiny octopus?

DeleteDid mamarazzi tag along to the class trip? I know many mums tag along, but not in the same transport with their kids.. They tag along driving their own car, tailing the school bus behind.. Then macam hide & seek, make sure the kids and teachers do not see them during the trip.. But J big liao, I think mamarazzi just stay at home and had some quiet me-time right?

Kunyit sotong (and fish) and even chicken can never go wrong.. My mum used to call it "wong geong fun zhin gai" (kunyit fried chicken).. When she cooks this, considered a luxury liao, coz she seldom deep-fry (who likes?).. Kan? The oil splatters and all.. So when she cooks this (once in a blue moon), although no gravy, we will guai-guai wallop all our rice, then leave the fried chicken to slowly "jiau" in the end.. Heaven..
Normally if teringin wana eat (kunyit) deep fried chicken, just buy from ouside chap-farn stall or nasi lemak places.. Sure got ayam goreng that is crunchy and crispy.. At home, seldom la can cook like that.. Need a lot of oil, have to deal with oil splatters, clean up the kitchen afterwards, then throw the oil (so waste) unless wana recycle and use back..
Nope...tarak tag along. They go with 5-6 teachers ...each teachers responsible for around 10 kids. should be okay lo.

Really pan nai already, this mamakucing here.. pooi fook! I have to swallow my saliva when I saw this.. hunger for foodie now... :)

ReplyDeleteso happy lah Small Kucing went to a trip organized by the kindergarten and went to the Beryl Chocolate Factory woh.. somemore he so sweet and loving lah, bought Mamarazzi a box of coconut rolls as souvenirs!! aiyoh, if I were Mamarazzi, haven't tasted the coconut rolls, already manis until deep down in the bottom of the heart, haha~~ awesome!! :)
wah, Mamarazzi's cooking time!! i love to read Mamarazzi's cooking post lah, always can learn something, of course not about how to cook but how to spontaneously improvise what she has got at home (or curi from neigbours) to come out with a dish she wants!! and woot woot, the kunyit grilled fish and sotong looks "yao ban yao ngan" (ada macam) woh..
actually depends on what we are cooking at home, and the amount also.. sometimes it can be saving money, but sometimes makan outside will be cheaper.. like this seafood feast by Mamarazzi, saved at least RM30, wow, like that can buy at least 3 books from BBWS year end later :)

Yaloh, eating out is pretty expensive, depends on where you go. Eat at home better. Mama Kucing can experiment and show off her cooking skill! Yeah!
