Simple Steam Chicken with Brands *Not Paid Post*

So fast it's Friday again. Mamarazzi nearly forgot to schedule this post.  Been busy with the garden, her books and the *drum rolls* TAX RETURNS!!!

Darn it...dunno what happen to the E-filing. Kept getting message error message when trying to login. Asked to try again later. Wait and wait more than an hour still same. Since she saw it's stuck at "Digital Cert", she went and "semak sijil digital" loh. Valid wor...and from there can login. Grrrrr.... kena system bully

Ding dong ding dong...finally got to submit the Tax Returns.

Ding dong ding dong...dunno what to cook for lunch....dig dig...found some chicken pieces in the freezer. Okay....lazy Mamarazzi just did "one pot cooks all" recipe again la.

Massage some salt on the chicken slices. throw in some Goji. Steam the Chicken in the rice cooker .

Throw in some butter ...and kau tim.....home made Chicken Rice. !

After the chicken is done, just pour a bottle of Brands Chicken essence on to it before serving.

Said having Chicken essence will help me grow up healthy and strong wor. I can't say I like the taste of the Chicken essence but Papa sure loves it. Guess my taste changes with time gua.

So I ate my "chicken Rice" with Mamarazzi's rojak soup lo. She throw in pieces of meat, carrots, lotus root and old cucumber.

Ahem ...so what soup is that ah? Old cucumber soup or lotus root soup ah? I also dunno. She said coz not enough lotus root pieces wor...so add old cucumber lor.

Taste? Surprisingly quite sweet leh.

Hmm....growing up healthy and strong am not too sure but what am sure is that my nails sure grow very fast leh.....Every week have to trim or else will kena Cikgu scold.

  1. Your mom is a real good cook and also a real good mom. Her food always looks so yummy! Here, it is Thursday afternoon. But is is definitely tax time! So your mom does taxes herself? Here, there are many tax places and they advertise by standing outside wearing silly costumes and waving at passing cars. Phil is now doing ours himself.

  3. Wahahaha, I laughing la, so funny your post.. I love your home-made chicken rice, I also like to cook one-pot chicken rice, but I marinade until my chicken black black la, for some colour, not like mamarazzi's one, "pak luit luit wat shuit shuit".. Mine very black and "dirty", with oyster sauce, sesame oil, black sauce, ginger & garlic..

Ok ma, very healthy and balanced meal.. Got rice, meat, vege & soup.. Ok wat.. I like.. I know chicken essence is good for the body la, usually I just drink like that (ding in the microwave for 5 seconds under medium-hi).. I also saw before they serve like this on a chicken dish in restaurants, but at home I no do like that la.. Maybe it's a good idea to get the kid to drink it hor, coz if give them only the essence maybe they won't take it.. But if mixed into the chicken, and "lou" the gravy into the rice, still can get some goodness from there hor..

Wah, first time I see lingau lou wong gua carrot soup.. Hahaha, rojak soup.. I like this name.. Ala, who cares rojak or not la, janji sedap with all the sweetness & goodness inside..

  7. You sound like expert chef now that you start cooking with Brands! I always like its taste and smell when the restaurant waitress would pour a bottle over the chicken for added oopmh! I normally drank these bottles for instant booster! Better than Red Bull.

    1. Duno the actual reason why put AFTER steam . Coz follow the shop in Ipoh mah. They pour the Chicken essence after the frog leg steamed

  13. aiyoh.. so lazy lah Mamarazzi but then this is a smart way to steam the chicken also.. save gas save electricity save time, and what's more, bonus chicken rice if cooked this way!! but Mamarazzi placed the chicken separately from the rice woh, like that the rice still can absorb the chicken juice or gravy or whatever it takes to make the chicken flavored rice?? amazing leh.. i thought need to campur the chicken or put chicken oil or stock to make the rice taste like chicken.. geez!! :D

    1. no la...it's in a tray on top of the rice. So can at least have the chicken gravy to eat with rice. If cook with rice, then the rice cannot keep .

  22. Hello on a gorgeous, spring day in TENNESSEE. Wow---after the long and bitter winter we had this year, Spring is even more inviting and lovely.

Thanks for catching up on my blog posts.. Many people are working on TAXES this time of year. We always file ours in Jan/Feb ---and are enjoying a nice refund this year.

We are now home 'again' --after our 5th trip since the end of February.... Seems as if we visited five different states --although the trips weren't planned for that reason... ha... BUT--as I always say, it's great to be home... I did publish a blog post today--so check it out when you have time. Have a wonderful weekend.

    Hugs,
    Betsy
